For the past several years, visiting the Roswell and Atlanta locations was an absolute highlight--we'd stop by and always leave with 2-3 new bottles after hours of delightful discovery. The core joy of this shop was the freedom to explore and stumble upon a new favorite scent. Unfortunately, that experience is dead. Indiehouse has transitioned to a membership-based experience that hides a significant portion of its inventory behind a paywall. At the lowest tier, you have to pay a $50 fee just to be allowed to sniff the fragrances--fragrances that were previously accessible to any visitor. This business model feels entirely elitist and completely betrays the spirit of niche fragrance exploration. It turns a fun, welcoming shop into a walled-off, gatekeeping experience. We used to be reliable repeat customers who spent hundreds of dollars here annually. Now, we feel priced out of even browsing. If you're looking for a refined experience of exploration and discovery, you won't find it here anymore unless you pay the high price of admission. We love to support local but now it seems we will be strictly taking our business online for future fragrances buys.

The ones that do have testers, you could only smell about 4-5, which would have been fine if the woman actually helped me instead of rolling her eyes at me and dancing... This place has potential, just get better employees with better customer service skills if you actually want to sell stuff. And making sure that every perfume has a tester is also helpful.

I happen to find this thought randomly while walking around Alpharetta and I thought it was really cool of an idea. It's a small shop that sells fragrances and they teach a class. For the class. You'll come in and you'll check in and you'll have a seat. They'll put on an apron and have you put one on as well and begin the conversation. Now this isn't just you going to throw some fragrances together to see what happens, they're going to give you a history and some context around the fragrances and the science behind it. Which is really super dope. They're very descriptive and very thorough and they even answer questions. If you have questions that need to be asked to help you with the process. The presentation takes maybe about a half hour or so, but like I said it's a lot of information so that's not a bad thing. After that you'll be getting to all of the fragrances in front of you. Now you have a bunch of oils in front of you that are going to be there for you to test and try as well as some droppers and beakers and things like that to mix fragrances. You're basically going to play a cologne scientist and put together a number of fragrances that you like as a combination to make your own specific and particular scent. And that's really cool in itself. You have at least an hour or an hour and a half to do this so you have time but this is the hardest part. Because now there are so many fragrances to try. You want to try so many combinations, you can't do it all LOL. At the end of it, you'll submit your information and you are able to tip them when you submit your fragrance. Please tip these people, they work there by self to make sure you have a good experience. They'll let you name your fragrance and they'll print out a label for you and you'll have a fragrance roller that you can use for travel. They'll explain. The actual uses for it so you don't have to worry about that. But you'll get a personalized fragrance that nobody else has. So if that in itself is clutch! If nothing else, you'll get something that's only yours. But at the end of the day, this is a super duper dope experience that you can't just walk in and do at any perfume shop. I loved it. I would actually go back again and make another personalized fragrance for me.

I am used to buying this typically from Neiman Marcus or Nordstrom in the past. So it was great to see its own standalone store. After walking in we quickly were helped, and were the sales person was able to identify the scent that I knew of, but did not know the name. So absolutely fantastic that he knew exactly what I was talking about and exactly what I needed and was able to locate it. We ended up getting a hair mask as well as a perfume. And lucky on this day they were doing free engraving. My picture show the engraving of our names. However, you could have chosen almost anything. There was even choices as fonts and colors and sizes, etc.. Along with our purchase, we got a couple of samples as well, which was great. And everything was so nicely packaged in their cute shopping bags with the colored tissue. If I'm ever back here again, I will definitely be stopping at the store. They've always loved this brand and their products. But now I get to love it directly from them as opposed to doing it through a department store.

A few hours prior Kierra texted me with parking instructions then when we arrived was prompt to meet us (and we were even early) the studio was lovely with such a cute aesthetic and of course smelled amazing. She was patient and very knowledgeable as we built our fragrances, and wanted us to both leave with something we loved.
