It's so funny because I told my bf a few days before that candle making would be cool (because I love candles), but that I worried if the smells would bother me... only to turn around and say a day later that I did, in fact, want to do candle making. LOL. Oops. So he made it happen! Crafted Creations is a Black woman-owned biz in Doraville, located in a busy shopping plaza. They offer a variety of classes over a few days throughout the week and I'm happy that he grabbed tickets in time for a 3pm class on my birthday. This class was different than some of the others that I saw, as it was a combo class that included a candle and a room spray for each participant for under $60. We arrived a few minutes early and waited outside for just a few after reading a sign on the door that asked guests to do so if we were early. Makes sense, as it's not a huge space and they seemed to be mindful of crowding. As soon as it turned 3pm, they welcomed us in with open arms. The space is super cute! There's a shiny gold photo backdrop at the front along with a table of candles on sale and a large display of candles, wax melts and room sprays from their own line of scents available. Check-in was a breeze as my partner gave his name and we were instructed to scan a QR code that led us to a waiver. After this, we were guided over to a table that already had all of the tools laid out for us and the other guests. I love communal events such as this as it encourages socializing with folks beyond those you came with and Crafted Creations does a great job of that. We were paired with another couple and a pair of friends, one who was also celebrating her birthday, truly a great group! On the table there were two lazy susans with a variety of scent oils as well as individual trays that had scales, measuring cups, and more. We got started a few minutes later than I had expected (due to the timing policy for guests) but I think they were waiting for a group that came in just a few minutes behind but it worked out great. Each step was super easy to understand, easily executed and fun to make happen. My boyfriend and the gentleman at our table were the only guys in the room and I'm sure that my bf was even surprised at how he enjoyed it lol (also, he now thinks he's a scientist so there's that LOL.) I can't even say how long the process took for both items because we were so focused and not looking at the time at all. My favorite part ended up being the scent-choosing part despite assuming that I'd be overwhelmed. I ended up choosing a clean linen, an amber of sort and I totally can't remember the other scent but as one who goes for a 'clean' smell vs. sweet or musky scents, I was grateful for the varieties. Once we finished our scentful science projects, we were told that as our candles cooled, there were a number of games we could play to pass the time as well as popping any bottles that we brought (it's BYOB!) We totally forgot to bring some sparkling cider but lucky me, the young ladies at our table were sweet enough to share theirs with me and the friend of the bday girl even allowed me to use her champagne glass. *tears* SO SWEET. Community is everything. We played 2 or 3 rounds of uno that were sooo fun, the time passed so swiftly, when they announced that we were good to pick up our candles, we were all still laughing and in the midst of our table fun. I told them I was looking for a calming oil for my baby to use after bath time as she went above and beyond explaining the difference between relaxation and sleep aid. I was able to sample the Shea butter as well as sniff the different oils. Once she mixed what I chose I was able to smell and determine if I was satisfied. The price for one jar of oil butter missed is 22 but 2 for 40 which is a great deal with the quality of the product. Just a bit goes a long way so I'm sure I will be using this for awhile. I'd walked passed the Oil Bar several times before but never stopped in until a few months ago. The store is pretty no-frills. The oils are all out for you to smell/sample. They are labeled with a label maker as to what scent they are, and they have a "W" or "M" so you know if it's a men's or women's scent. It's pretty difficult to get an accurate idea of the scent when you're sniffing bottles of oil. But, for the small amount of money they charge for their products, I figured, what the heck? I picked three that I though I'd like, and just went for it. They are awesome! I purchased one lotion, one roll on and one shea butter body oil and I love it. They also sell salt scrubs, sugar scrubs, massage oil candles (these were pretty cool), and larger bottle of the roll-ons. You can add any scent to any product, and you can even combine scents- I'm just not that adventurous. I really hope this place lasts!

I came here for her massive collection of imported scents hoping to find something new for the Fall/Winter season. She was a great guide through her massive scent collection. The shop carries masculine, feminine, and unisex scents. She took her time to ask about what we like, and narrowed down samples accordingly. She even pulled a few that were out of our comfort zone to encourage exploration which I really enjoyed. There were a few dupes and she is extremely well-versed in the world of luxury scents. The price for two huge bottles was around $75 ($35 each plus tax) which was an amazing deal compared to my usual Sephora visits. We immediately put on our scents after departing and it truly lasted the entire day and then some, no joke. I love when Yelp steers me in the right direction!!!! This shop is located in a small but very busy plaza shared by quite a few small shops and deliciously smelling eateries, so parking can get crazy. We had to wait to park AND to leave, so be mindful. My only other complaint is that I wish she had a "palate cleanser" for us, like coffee beans, to use between each scent sample. The nose gets overwhelmed after a while and the scents can meld together. But it really wasn't that big of a deal and didn't detract from the experience at all. I left this place feeling so happy and joyous. Even though we had clear cultural differences and practices (we stuck out in this international plaza like a sore thumb), she received us like family!
