Assorted fried fish and calamari was great as long as you can eat the while fish including the head and tails which is the way to eat it. Then we had the pulpo which was out if this world. If was drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with I believe paprika and salt and the flavor danced in your mouth and lingered - heavens. As much as we loved this place we owe it to explore other joints which we couldn't even get in so well be going for more.

The service was disgusting. - we were not offered small tasters as we had been previously - our plates were very small compared to the Spanish diners for exactly the same dish - when we asked for our bill we had been over-charged for wine. There were 5 adults. The manager said we could only have one drink per person. yet in 30 years of dining in spain we have always had 1/2 bottle of wine per person. Despite that he tried to charge us Euros10 for the second bottle of wine AND extra for the waters we had. We fully understand you get 1/2 a bottle of wine OR water OR whatever..this guy was simply ripping off tourists. The staff treated us very very badly and I told them I was going to describe in detail the experience in internet review sites unless the complaint was resolved. We have been visiting Spain for 30 years and this is the only time we have ever been treated badly. We felt the staff were being dishonest with us and deliberately over-charging because we were tourists. in the end I paid the correct amount, left, and suggested they call the police!!! There are a lot of vegan/vegetarian options on the menu, some very special and creative (home made vegan sausages as an extraordinary tapa as you can see on the photo), some traditional but adopted for vegans (we regularly eat the vegan(!) Spanish tortilla or the nachos with baked tofu). Also options as vegan burger, vegetable homemade fritters, humus, and so on. The chef also regularly passes by the table to explain what's special on the dish or to ask if you have any demand and try to adopt dishes where possible. I think they also do vegetable rices, but as I am not a rice lover I never tried this before. It just seems that this cook is really known and updated with vegan lifestyle. The place is really nice decorated, something that you might not expect immediately in Benidorm, and the service of the waiters is beyond kind and warming. And this all at very reasonable prices! I just love the fact that you don't have to explain that we don't eat gelatin or tuna etc. (as I always have to do in Spanish eating places). Defintely worth the visit (they also serve , we're sure you will return each time for passing an excellent lunch or relaxing holiday night with some good glasses and excellent food!
