I have been here twice now and had a good time both visits. However, just because I had fun doesn't mean the place was a 5 star. And just because I went, doesn't mean it was my choice of place to go. (Sometimes, one is just at the mercy of their host.) Cleanliness, doesn't exist here. I'm sure any swimming pond is cleaner than this. This place is all about getting people in not about cleanliness. Given that, the place was still just packed. The change rooms, just make sure you have sandals on, The water, I don't want to know if the dark green is from time, use or what.... but yeah. Just swim and don't think about it. (The website picture shows the water crystal clear, so it begs questioning.) The restroom, as with most places in Mexico, was bring your own toilet paper. The ladies room charged admission, just a couple of pesos, but with that came the toilet paper. The men's room was a little ripe as the urinal was just a trough with no flowing water and the drain not on the downhill side. The toilets were seatless (not uncommon in Mexico I've found), not that clean and no available paper. The 1 little sink in the mens room had neither soap nor anything to dry with. I would not walk on the bathroom floor without shoes/sandals of some sort. Lots of different pools, all with different temperatures. Shallow pools with all kinds of things for the kids to play, slide and get wet with. Big slides and little slides, big pools and little pools. There is plenty of shade, lots of tables and cooking stations at each pavilion. Bring your own charcoal or wood or buy it from the vendors there. If you want a pavilion though, get there early because they get taken quick. (Remember, this place is packed by 11 AM.) Even without a pavilion there are plenty of places to set up. People bring tents for kids (or the worn out adults trying to keep up with kids) to nap in. People plan to come early here and spend the day. Admission was inexpensive, just $60 for an adult and $50 for a kid (pesos), and with that you could bring in anything you wanted to. All your own drink, chairs, food, coolers, tents, tables, whatever you wanted really. There was plenty of vendors there selling everything from bird pets to pulque. There was hot corn, drinks, ice, wood, toys, clothes, candy, tamales and everything else from vendors. plus the park had a bar and a restaurant. I didn't try the restaurant, but I did try some of the vendors walking around. The corn was delicious. Also, the bar (as well as the vendors selling alcohol) did not seem to have any kind of age limit. I seen kids that couldn't have been even in the teens buying drinks to take back to their group. Prices were good for drinks, a pina colada was about $40 (pesos) and a very good size drink. In addition to the vendors there were plenty of music groups floating around that would play a song or 5 for tips. They were easy to listen to, very enjoyable and good players and singers. Usually a 3 man group made up of old timers who knew about every song in the Mexican playlist. These guys had been playing music since before I existed. Last visit I saw a Mariachi and also a full band (tuba, clarinet, trumpets, drums, guitars, etc.) The city surrounding this park is very small, totally based on the tourists that come here.... it is dirty and ugly. I hate to be that harsh given all Mexican communities are not made of money. But this place has a few water parks and thousands (possibly tens of thousands) of tourists coming through ever day. I would think they could do a lot more here to retain the tourists, make it an over night stay or even a weekend. But no. The parking lot was dirt/mud. The lane leading to the park looked like a well used animal trail, not a road. You'd never know there were two massive water parks at the end of the lane. There was also rooms to rent at the park, but I have no idea about their price or cleanliness. I went with a large group both times. Kids had a blast! Adults enjoyed the day with a little swimming, a lot of sun (and shade if wanted), good drinks and good food. read more
