We got a table without a wait. And margaritas followed soon after. I was not specific with my order, so I got a fishbowl for a drink (not complaining). My friend ordered the guac appetizer, and this was huge as well. Definitely more than enough for our group of three. And then I got the Mucho Burrito for my meal. I'm sensing "mucho" is a theme for Los Aztecas. This entree includes a large tortilla filled with shredded chicken or beef, deep fried with rice and beans, covered with white cheese, enchilada salsa, lettuce, tomato and sour cream. We stopped to eat a late dinner at this location of Los Aztecas. Even though it was late the service was good and the food was good too. I ordered the taco salad with shredded chicken. There was a crazy amount of chicken in the salad, which I enjoyed and had plenty for lunch the next day. The only thing I would say is that there was a lot of extra liquid on the plate from the chicken that soaked through the flour shell but the sides of the shell were nice and crispy. read more

While visiting Los Aztecas, all social distancing and masking guidelines were followed. The restaurant was very clean. They are offering take out and delivery, as well as dine in. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. I ordered the fajita nachos and my husband ordered the fajita tacos, both of which were delicious. These servings were very large and can easily be two meals for one. The nachos were amazing. 10/10 would order these again! The toppings were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The tacos were overloaded with toppings, and also came with rice, beans, and salad/pico to add to them. We walked in and sat down, we had a virtual gift card and before we ordered we asked the waitress to make sure it was valid for this location and she said yes it was , once we had ordered appetizers and drinks she then comes back and says it is not good at their location only for the one downtown. We wouldn't have ordered if it wasn't good there !! POOR customer service !! After leaving I called the downtown location and they said 2 brothers own the business and the only reason it couldn't be used there was there pos system couldn't redeem the gift card ! I have been to the downtown location multiple times and have never really had great service, but I can say that I like this one a lot better...plus, it is a hop, skip and a jump from my apartment. I have struggled to find good Mexican cuisine, something other than El Nopal that over consumes Louisville. This is my now 3rd visit and can say that although it's not as good as my favorite place, Mango's on Hendrick Drive, it is very convenient, I'm always treated warmly, the food is good and reasonably priced. The Chorizzo cheese dip and fried beef chimichanga (fried extra crispy) is my favorite. They package the food up well for to go orders and include salsa, chips, and utensils. As we were leaving I noticed the size of the margaritas another couple was getting. Wished I could have had one of those. A real nice surprise was the live music. A violinist plays each Thursday.
