    Tostada de jaiba
    Guillermo M.

The best seafood restaurant we've been to. The drinks are not only well presentable but delicious as well. I had the octopus which was amazing. And the flan for the dessert is the best we've had.

I ordered Uber Eats to my hotel. First off... wow. I thought the prices were pretty hefty given we're in Monterrey but I was wrong. Generous portions, heaps fresh seafood, the salsas and dips... stole the show and enhanced everything. You would think some restaurants as delivery just don't taste as good compared to dining in and while that may be still true here, I'm still giving it five stars. I'll be a returning customer no doubt about it. Huge fan of the ceviche, less so on the prawn cocktail (full disclosure, I just was in the mood for ceviche more).

Good food and service. I came here for a lunch and really enjoy the sea food such as the shrimp tacos etc.

Recommended by a local when he found out I don't eat meat (carne) but love seafood!

Last time I was in Mexico, I was in Mexico City, and I experienced the epic-ness of Mexican seafood. Monterrey is all about the carne, but since I'm pescatarian, Los Arcos was a great warm welcome. They have excellent service and an extensive selection of seafood. Everything tastes amazing. Not as amazing as fresh from the coast of course, but in the dessert, not too bad!

    Rockefeller oysters !!

We were really happy to see los arcos, as it is a chain restaurant that we patronized in Tijuana. Waiter was on the dot, our plates came out on time....... But if I had to choose between this location and Tijuana .... Tijuana hands down!!! They have better flavor !!! Sorry regios!!'

    Muy rico pescado y camarones!

The menu is really big and there's quite the amount that you can choose from. My mother got some kind of salmon plate and she said it was so delicious and totally recommend it. My father got the coconut shrimp. I did try one and I have to say it was so good and more shrimp and breading which is always a plus. I got the meat with cheese on top and pineapples and green sauce and it was phenomenal. I got it with a side of grilled veggies which were so good. My cousin got the Marlon so and she said they were delicious overall seems like everything is great there I don't feel like you can go wrong with ordering any dish. It is very authentic.

For a solid, healthy lunch, I enjoy their daily catch (check market price and fish) or tilapia. I usually get it grilled or zarandeado for some more flavor. It's easy to add on rice (white or saffron) and vegetables which you can have steamed or zarandeado, as well. Shrimp in its many forms (al ajillo, zarandeado, a la diabla, grilled) is also great here. The shrimp dishes come with saffron rice and nopales, but you can switch to vegetables easily. Their ceviche tostada is good as is their shrimp aguachile. Table service will include tostadas with a couple of salsas, and they'll provide more if you ask or have a long wait. Sometimes they'll start everyone off with a shooter of shrimp or fish soup. The broth is richly flavored, and the cup is often ridged with tajin which makes for a delicious starter. There is a lot of seating here, and there is a patio out back. I see a lot of business lunches here, and they sometimes have larger groups. There is a good amount of parking here, too.

The service is very slow, even though, the place was EMPTY. They would serve a green salad without offering me any option of dressing. I asked for olive oil and balsamic vinegar. After nearly 15 minutes, my waiter would come with a little sauce boat with some dark liquid in it. I asked the waiter: "what's this? Did you mix the oil and vinegar?" He replied "Yes!". The liquid didn't look oily at all. I tasted it and they simply served Maggi seasoning in the sauce boat. I asked, again, for olive oil and vinegar and asked to have them separate for me to dress my salad. He would come back just with oil. After asking for the vinegar (at this point I was OK if it was white vinegar), the waiter said they don't use vinegar in ANY recipe (?!?!?). Vinegar is a widely used ingredient in Mexican seafood!!! I used lime juice instead. Last but not least, I ordered the check and asked the waiter to add a certain percentage as tip. When he came back with the voucher, the total amount (check + tip) exceeded in a few Pesos the amount I had previously calculated. The cashier decided it was best to round up the check to the nearest hundred!!! It wasn't too much money but I considered it an abuse. This was the first and last time I eat here.

The night we were there had live music which was really nice. It brands itself as a Mexican-Thai restaurant, but to me it's a straight up seafood joint. They have a really intriguing cocktail menu which we sampled throughly, and it was the Jamaica Habanero that came in first place. That drink was spicy, fruity and full of flavor. Can't think of a better cocktail I've had honestly. For appetizers, we tried the Tiradito De Hamachi which was delightful and had these tasty fried grasshoppers on it, and the Ceviche de pulpo a las brasas, which was buttery, delicious and had a bunch of chicharrones in it which I though was a really interesting and unique combo with the octopus. For entrees, we went with the Pescado Orsán and the Camarones En Vara-Asados. The winner there was the Pescado Orsán, which was a perfectly cooked catch-of-the-day with amazing texture resting on a this really nice cauliflower rice with little pieces of asparagus mixed in. I thought that dish was truly exception given the perfectly balanced mix of flavors and textures. The Camarones En Vara was tasty as well, but nothing in particular stood out with that one. If in the area, I highly recommend stopping in for a great experience. There is so much on their menu that looks good, I'm sure there are many more highlights.
