Hamburguesas con papas fritas y una Jamaica.
Esmeralda R.

Being from Los Angeles, CA with a broad of excellent choices and high standards the service here was impeccable, including the attentive staff. The restaurant's cleanliness was also impressive, adding to the overall ambiance. Now onto the main event - the food and drinks. Each dish bursted with flavor. The dishes which I didn't photograph each were culinary masterpieces. And let's not forget about the drinks. The michelada left me wanting more. In summary, Los Aguachiles sets the standard. From the moment you step through the door, you're treated to good service, embracing the beautiful Mexican surroundings, and unforgettable cuisine. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly memorable Mexican dining experience.

The location is right off the main strip with easy parking if driving. The ambiance was good and relaxed! The service was really good! English speaking as well for those only speaking English. The food was really good! Amazing! Ceviche was delicious! Good beer too! Won't go wrong here!

fish + shrimp tacos, wonderful tuna
Catherine T.

the fish tacos here are bussin!! perfectly breaded and fried, and topped with slaw. they also provide bottles of their homemade crema that i doused my tacos with. SO GOOD. also got the wonderful tuna tostada which was also good, but i feel like the fish tacos are the star of the show. i also think the hours on yelp are incorrect. came here on a monday thinking they opened at 12pm, but they opened at 1pm so would def call them to double check.

My friends and I came here after a day of cenote hopping. Los aguachiles was a nice way to end the day. We got a variety of things like that tacos, ceviche, fried shrimp appetizer, fish and chips, and of course the aguachiles. Everything was so good. I definitely recommend coming here for your seafood fix when in Tulum.

Aquachilles negras. Not spicy at all.

We were pretty excited to find this place on the edge of the main strip. Seemed out of the way so we figured it wouldn't be that touristy. How can you go wrong with a place that has aquachilles as the name? Customer service was good, no issues there. Friendly and they came by a bunch of times to check on us. I had the aquachilles negra and the wife had verde. The presentation was spot on. Looked all fancy. I got mine as a mix of octopus and shrimp. The seafood looked super fresh. Unfortunately, the flavor was over powered by the salsa inglesa. I have had it before and the salsa inglesa was an added flavor to the shrimp. Not the main flavor. I had to get some and let it drain a little so I could take more of the seafood. The cucumber was cut into strings instead of the normal half moons. Kind of like that veggie pasta cut. I think I like it this way better. But it had zero spice. Aquachille salsa is supposed to be blended up cilantro with serrano or habanero chilles. I had to add salsa to make it spicy. Kind of disappointing. I tried the wife's aquachilles Verdes, better but not spicy either. The flan de elote it's killer! Almost skipped the desert but we decided the try it. Very good corn taste with a hint of honey. I would come back just for this. Unfortunately, I would pass one the aquachilles if we come back.

Fish ceviche on the left, shrimp Aguachiles right.

We stopped in for a quick bite of seafood. They have it chained off so as to temperature check and sanitize guests on arrival. We were allowed to choose our table, and it was easy to social distance since every other table was blocked off. They also require masks as you move around from your table. It was nice to see that they care for their patrons and the community. They urged us to try the passion fruit mojito, which was so fresh and refreshing! We opted to share the shrimp Aguachiles and the fish ceviche. The ceviche was extremely sour and not very flavorful. The Aguachiles was the star of the meal!! Very fresh and flavorful and so well seasoned. Also don't miss the green sauce in the small bottle. It's spicy and soooo good on the Aguachiles and definitely made the ceviche more palatable. I will definitely return for more aguachiles! If you're in the neighborhood, give them a shot.

Flan de elote

We spotted this place one day and went in for some aguachiles since they happen to be one of my favorite dishes. The aguachiles were good but not spicy. I did enjoy the flavor but they could have used that serrano spice. The absolute star though was not the aguachiles, it was the flan de elote that the server reccomended. It was absolutely delicious! I was in love with that dessert! You can taste the sweet corn but its creamy and can also taste that yummy flan. You have to try it! If you don't like spicy food, this is the place to be. But even then, I would go back for that flan alone.

Shrimp aguachile in green sauce

Good place for aguachile in Tulum town if you're wanting to try different types. My favorite was the shrimp aguachile in green sauce. Service could be better here but overall it was decently priced and good seafood

Our shuttle driver recommended this place and it was echoed by our hotel concierge. We rode our bikes down which wasn't bad. The place is a little hard to see because they don't have a large sign, only a name on their building. So keep an eye out. Bike parking and street parking available. All outdoor seating although most of the tables are covered. We sat outside by the fan to keep cool and try to keep the flies away. Service was quick and friendly. We started with the guacamole, the salsa negra (half order) and the tuna stuffed cucumbers. So tasty. The salsa negra had some spicy jalapeños on it, and it's the least spicy of the aguachiles. Warning! lol. The coconut shrimp stuffed with cheese was delicious. Then we had an assortment of tostadas. The menu is a bit limited. Not much more than tacos, tostadas, and ceviches. The margarita was awesome. We had two each. Very nice and fresh. Very fun dining experience trying all new things. Service was spot on. Had the corn cake for dessert. It's served warm with ice cream, yum! Bathrooms are clean. The sink is on the other side of the wall. Good prices.

Pulpo!

This place is a must go in Tulum. A little down the main road away from the main shops area, Los Aguachiles, is tucked, semi-hidden on the corner. Open air seating on plastic tables and chairs, this place bangs out dish after amazing dish. The pulpo dish is spicy, savory deliciousness. The tuna tostada was divine. The seafood rice was unique, flavorful and delicious. The Elote (Corn) was classically good. From our sample of eats, it doesn't seem like this place gets it wrong. Just go and enjoy - you will be glad you made the trip.

The tacos and atmosphere were great! Great staff. You won't regret trying it. I enjoyed some tequila shots and watched Monday night football straight off my flight it was nice.

Nice atmosphere, very affordable and delicious (one of the best) shrimp tacos and tuna sashimi!

Aguachile de aguacate with squid and shrimp. Good size for 2 but lacking flavor.

We were in Tulum for vacation and wanted some good seafood. We were really looking forward to trying El Camello Jr but it was closed. This place is just a few doors down. Here are a few problems we encountered from he moment we got there to the moment we left. The restaurant was pretty packed when we got there but a waiter sat us down on an empty table close to the bar. He handed us some menus and walked away. We flagged him to place our order for drinks and food. My BF ordered 2 beers and I ordered a Mezcal cucumber drink. For food, we ordered the aguachile de aguacate (avocado), calamari, and what seemed to be octopus in a sort of buffalo sauce. By his time, a fairly large family sat next to us. Tell me, HOW is it possible they got their drinks, complimentary tostadas/salsa AND food before we did????? I asked about 4 times for tostadas to 2 different waiters. Not to mention my drink.... omg..... I'm not exaggerating when I tell you I got my drink (the only one I ordered) about 10 minutes AFTER the food was brought to our table. My BF got his 2 beers and I was still waiting for the drink. I literally had to ask the waitress about the drink I ordered over 20 minutes ago. The tostadas??? Oh, we got those AFTER the food was brought to our table too lol!!! Now onto the food.... VERY bland. The aguachile was ok but it lacked flavor. We used the mayo based sauce they provided in old ketchup bottles to add some flavor. The octopus in buffalo sauce was actually good! Very tender and great portion size for 2. That came with white rice and black beans. The calamari was nothing less than disgusting. It was honestly the worst $7 I've ever spent. Not only was it cold, you can also tell it's frozen. The actual calamari was tough and very chewy. No seasoning aside from maybe a sprinkle of paprika. The mezcal drink was also bad. I can only describe it as tasting like bandaids. Our bill was about $45 USD which would have been great if service/food was decent. Needless to say, I will never go back.

He was attentive, kind, and always one step ahead, bringing things before we even had to ask. He also shared great insight about the restaurant and its background, which we really appreciated. The food was as delicious as ever. We always order the grilled octopus and it's a must every time, perfectly tender and full of flavor. This time we also tried a small shrimp ceviche that had a great balance of acidity and spice. We finished with the grilled fish, which was soft, fresh, and really tasty. I skipped the margarita this time, but they are also one of my favorite things to get here. We will definitely keep coming back.

The best food I've had in Tulum two years in a row! Simply amazing!…read more Wow - I thought maybe I just remembered last year through rose-colored glasses - no, this place is magnificent. First, the vibe is basically perfect. Feels exotic, is clean, the staff is fun, and the live music is the finishing touch. Second, without a doubt the best food we had in Tulum during our week there this year, and my week there last year. House Salad - I never knew I needed goat cheese ice cream on a salad but I'm telling you it was AMAZING! My girlfriend had the Octopus in marinade. She gets the Octopus everywhere we go. It was very tasty and not overcooked like is often the case. I had the Catch of the Day, Sea Bass. I have the fish of the day everywhere I go (live in St Petersburg, Florida, so I'm a seafood junky). It was, again, like last year the best fish dinner entree I had in Tulum. That's between about 12 different places I've eaten at in Tulum spanning the poshest hotel zone restaurants to the most reviewed and highly rated places in Centro in town. It was mouth-wateringly good and flawlessly prepared. I highly suggest trying the Mexican Tea cocktail - a refreshing, but not overly sweet, well-balanced drink that I loved and my girlfriend switched to despite it not being anything like what she would normally order. Last - I worked in restaurants starting at 15 through my late 20's including the most upscale place in the entire city. I got good enough to find gigs helping train staff during new openings. The service we received was remarkable, yet causal and fun. Commendable and appreciated.

Make sure to make a reservation in advance, especially for Thursday through the weekend. We visited at 8:30 and we felt like it was the perfect time because a lot of the performances began around nine. The service is top-notch. From putting the napkin in your lap to arranging a miniature coat rack to hang your jacket, they pay attention to detail. Not to mention, though the atmosphere takes priority here, the food was also very good. We ordered a steak and the shrimp risotto. The shrimp were colossal. I have never seen shrimp so big. Most of their specialty cocktails are quite acidic and that night I was craving whiskey so I ordered an old-fashioned and it was also very good. I would say this spot in particular is well known for big groups and bachelorette dinners. It is quite loud, so keep that in mind.
