This is a place similar to a couple of others we have been to that serve thai and Japanese under one roof. This is the only country where I have seen this combo. The service is a bit impersonal here and all they seemed to want to do is take our order and move on. Naturally, I ordered sushi plate (see picture) and it was also the most expensive plate on their menu. The sushi itself was quite ok, some of it a bit chewy but in comparison to a couple of other places I have been to not bad. I also tasted the vegetarian pad Thai and it was quite ok. The miso soup was lukewarm and the green tea also lukewarm. All in all an ok experience more like a 2.5 stars for me. Given the choice I would not go back here, but, if stuck for options I would probably come back here and have thai food instead. The quality of the sushi is simply not good enough for me to order it again. P.S. I am very fussy about sushi and asian food in general as, I have had years of traveling Asia and experienced some amazing food across Asia, Canada, Australia and, my expectations are a lot higher :-) finding good asian in munich is a challenge unfortunately ;-)

If you are a All You Can Eat fan, it's the place to go. From cold to warm back to cold, you can go wild at a very reasonable (if not low) price and enjoy yourself. If not, still fine as the a la carte menu is quite giving. The Midday menu (on Saturdays as well!) has less dishes, but it's still ok. And cheaper, of course, as evenings you pay almost twice as much. If you behave, you might even get a before and after Ume Wine drink on the house.

When I first started going there I thought that I wouldn't find a place to sit. Surprisingly that's never happened. It somehow always works out that I place my order (#9) and then by the time it's ready, there's a free seat. So don't be scared by the crowd - the place turns over fast. I've also tried and can recommend their sushi and spring rolls. Unfortunately I'm a creature of habit and usual stick to my tried and true favorite. Oh yeah, I really like the staff too - the lady taking the orders is very efficient, always friendly and smiling.

The venue is huge as it used to be a two story nightclub before it was converted to the Asian buffet restaurant. Enjoyed both of my visits and feel that it is a tremendous value for the modest price. The last time we tried to find this place we were unable to, as I thought it had closed down. After checking their website I realised that, it is actually off the side street and, not on Leopoldstr. So we decided to check it out today. The name of the place is running sushi, however, the sign inside says Japanese and Thai food. We were a little bit early and the conveyor was pretty empty and, I did not see the point of having the "all you can eat" offer which, on Sundays is €18.90 plus drinks. I chose to oder from the a la carte menu. I ordered a sushi plate which had two rolls (salmon and tuna) and 6 nigiri (tuna, salmon, scallop, prawn, cuttle fish and kingfish). The miso soup was great and packed with flavour. The sushi arrived and looked well presented. However the very first one I had smelled a tiny bit and thought it was odd. I then proceeded to eat the rest and a few others also smelt a bit. The sushi was rolled poorly and packed with way too much rice that was far too sticky. It became immediately obvious that the chefs were better at thai than sushi. Needless to say I was quite disappointed. I would not come back here again for sushi. I have not been served raw fish that smells ever, and considering I ordered off the menu rather than the buffet, imagine what the running sushi is like ;-)
