If you love cigars, and you do not read this publication, you need to start. I only wish it was…read morepublished more often. They print it 6 times per year, so I eagerly look out for it when I visit Barnes and Noble. It is larger than the standard magazine which measures about 10.5 X 8 inches. CA by contrast is 11.75 X 9.75 inches. I used to get it by mail, but the mail service can at times damage it, so I just go to Barnes and Noble and pick it up for $5.95.
Normally, excessive adds are irritating to me, but not in this case. They cater to a crowd that enjoys the finer things in life, so the magazine is filled with adds from company's that understand the importance of a good marketing campaign. The adds just take you away to a "better place". Many of the adds are provocative and artsy. Of course it is all a matter of opinion, but that is what I think. I like adds that seem to tell a story without a single word in them. The first add is a fold out add for Dom Perignon Champagne, and that is exactly what it does. Not a single type written word. Just a very cool picture that takes you wherever you want to go with the pic. Very cool!!
There is alsio a very nice Tommy Bahama add, Hennessy, Gran Patron, Mercedes AMG, Remy Martin, Jose Cuervo Platino, a fold out add for the brand new V-Rod from Harley Davidson with Marisa Miller as the biker chick, and many many more. They always have interesting stories, which of course is part of what makes it a great publication. They do reviews on cigars every publication which is the primary reason I buy the magazine. They highlighted Daniel Craig this month in anticipation of the release of " Quantum of Solace " which is due out this month. If you are a James Bond 007 fan, that is reason enough to pick up a copy of the magazine, as they not only did a story on Craig, but they also did a separate story on the 007 franchise. In their travel section, they did a story on their "bucket list" of places you must visit before kicking the bucket. Lastly, at the back of every issue, they publish pictures from everyday folks who send in photo's of themselves with friends or loved ones sharing a cigar in a special place. I look forward to reading those. I think it is cool that they do that. And they don't do just a handful. This issue they had 41 separate pics of readers. Anyway, it's cool, I like it, give it a try.
Cheers!!!!
