I've been working with Briana for almost a year and all this time she was a pleasure to work with, a true professional!

Council For Airport Opportunity

Council For Airport Opportunity

Far Rockaway

CAO has multiple branches serving the NY/NJ area. They connect workers to "exciting jobs in the…read moreaviation industry" and "careers in aviation." You'll see their ads on posters, Facebook, Insta, etc. They have offices, counselors, and hold regular "recruitment events" where they prescreen you and your documents. They promise "hundreds of jobs" and "training" and "careers." Unfortunately, all is not what it seems. Those "careers" are mostly dead end, low paying jobs. They're not "in the aviation industry" so much as they just happen to be "at the airport." Ever want to work in a candy store.......at the airport? Bus tables.......at the airport? Drive a shuttle van.....at the airport? Clean planes for a contractor? CAO might foward your application. You won't be getting any training despite what they say on their posters. And you never get to see what job openings they have. Thats all kept secret. You have to go through one of their conselors. Get a bad counselor? You'll see nothing but stale job openings, or NO job openings at all for weeks at a time. Inquire about the job training you saw on a poster, or a career you saw in an article about CAO - they'll tell you it must have been a mistake in the ad, or you read it wrong. IYou're not going to become an Airplane Mechanic through CAO. You won't be getting Security Training. You won't find out how to become a Customs Agent. No quality jobs. But if you're desperate for a job, you'll need a resume, and you'll have to attend one of their in-person cattle calls, or attend an online seminar where they talk up CAO and all the job seekers are disappointed once they find out what CAO is really all about.
