Gave me wrong order and it was cold. She offered to heat it in a microwave. I got drinks and they filled my drinks for me it was a pick up order when I got there they were sitting behind me for 5 minute before my finance said hello and they got up we didn't even know they were working . Bad first experience I was told so much about them really disappointing

a variety of food on a counter

I'm sorry guys but dang if I wanted to cook my own food I'd just have done that. Everything not just cold but ICE cold. And a "cheese cup" is a little misleading come tf on. Y'all missed the mark was gonna give you the benefit of the doubt thinking you're a food truck. Yikes $46 later pull it together, some of us actually love kolaches. Shame.

Ol' Rooster is a self confessed kolache addict; like you might actually see me on one of those intervention shows one day. They might say "James, you have a problem when you drive an hour one way out to 38th and Lamar just for a kolache" Well my friends ditch the camera crew and the piles of Kleenex because Lone Star has came to my hood! But, its not that simple at least for me. There is a Lone Star closer to the ranch in Westlake; somehow they don't make the grade on my poison of choice the ranchero. I've begged them on multiple occasions to add a bit more sauce to the mix to make it identical to the Lamar store; didn't do it. Add in some complaining on Yelp, emails to the owners, and still no dice. Instead I just kept driving North on Mopac. Today was the test, would it be as good as its sister store? YES YES YES! I had to have two just to make sure, you know for quality purposes. Little Rooster ended up with two apple and cream cheese and downed almost both. Our first visit totally rocked and I didn't spend $22 in gas to get my fix. Today South Austin is a step closer to a perfection thanks to this new LSK location. If you saw me crying over my ranchero, they were tears of joy. Today's service was friendly and the customers flowed in and out smoothly. Third Yelp review in the books and its five stars all the way

Blueberry cream cheese kolaches on the top, jalapeno sausage cheese underneath, all delicious!

I had just read on Reddit a couple days prior that this was recommended as an alternative to another Austin bakery. When I walked in I was surprised to find many older individuals sitting and chatting, so I thought there might be some kind of event. But it's probably just the demographics of the neighborhood! Based on the decor I can tell they're not trying to be a "trendy" bakery and remain true to their identity as a neighborhood business. They still had a good number of pastries available but I did get the last strawberry danish of the day (pictured). I also got the almond croissant. Their pre-made bread loaves all looked appetizing as well. I thought both pastries had good texture but could have used more filling/flavoring.

Don't get me wrong, the chocolate chip cookies were very good (soft, buttery, generous on the chocolate chips), but the lemon crinkle cookies were just out of this world. The mint ice cream was incredible because they used fresh mint, not mint extract or mint flavor so it tastes different than the regular mint chocolate chip ice cream we are all used to. I really liked it. They have a small window to order and the staff are very friendly. Definitely worth stopping by if you want a cookie or ice cream. The line moves fast.

Located in the corner of the plaza (next to the grocery store). Cute little bakery with a sweet older lady who speaks zero English but was nonetheless extremely welcoming and kind. She even gave my toddler a complimentary macaron. Sweet. I am usually pretty adventurous with trying new pastries/snacks and it generally works out well. Unfortunately, I did not like most of the things we took home that day (my husband agreed). A taro egg ball thing -- not fans. A gelatinous rice blob inside a bamboo leaf (believe it's called Zongzi) -- also didn't work for us. Finally, the beef puff (which seemed like a safe bet) fell short of expectations. It's my fault -- I ignored that part that said "beef floss." It had a stringy/processed texture that I just didn't like. I just wasn't a fan of the flavors/textures -- but obviously that's subjective. I did enjoy the garlic bread we also thankfully bought -- it was soft and flavorful. If you're not familiar with the foods, I'd recommend making sure you get a few "safe" items like the cream bread or garlic bread. Ultimately, even though I wasn't crazy about most of what I tried, it was a cute little shop with a nice lady running it.

I was craving Ube and might have gone a bit overboard on ordering dessert because they had so many Ube options. The building is colorful and decorated in bright pink with fun artwork and decor for an uplifting vibe. The line moved quickly and the service was friendly fast and efficient. I was able to place my order and pay with Apple Pay. I ordered the Taiyaki Sundae with black sesame and ube swirl soft serve served in a fish shaped mochi Belgian style waffle with Oreo dust on top. You can customize your sundae with filling like organic red sweet beans, Nutella or custard and toppings like Oreo dust, fruity pebbles or rainbow sprinkles. I ate this on site and the nutty black sesame balanced the sweet ube perfectly, and the Oreo topping added the best crunch. They had a variety of mochi donut flavors. Lucky for me, nothing was sold out today. I ordered the Oreo ube mochi donut and ube milk tea to-go. I ate the mochi donut later that day and it was probably my least favorite item from my order. It had the chewy mochi texture however I didn't get enough of the rich ube flavor. It had somewhat of a bitter aftertaste and the Oreo overpowered the ube. I drank the ube milk tea the next day and it was creamy, smooth, and not overly sweet. I really enjoyed the flavor profile of the beverage and would order it again. Overall, enjoyed my selections and will be back to try more dessert options and flavors from one of the most unique Asian dessert spots in Austin!
