This might have to do with the fact that the place is extremely busy during the short tourist season. The food gets hastily prepared and does not get all the love it deserves. It was absolutely incredible. Chef Patrick new since I have been there. He created the most amazing meal. 1st I had the mussels, which he came to my table and asked how I would like them prepared. I asked for a suggestion and he indicated a couple of different ways but recommended the marinara. I said ok expecting some typical tomato and garlic broth. What came out was the most favorable vegetable cream sauce. I do it no justice with my description. I asked for some bread and I was handed a bag of bread croutons that went perfect with it. Then the main course came of the special moose with root vegetables and black kale. The kale created the perfect balance of the sweet vegetables and the tart kale. Then the dessert of beet ice cream with caramelized pound cake with a sweet sauce. Top 10 meal if not number one. Chef Patrick made a quick trip to Smogen very memorable.
