I don't think many schools would not only modify requirements but also encourage an old lady in a dream she didn't think would actually be possible. I am now an assistant instructor helping Sensei with the younger kids and it fills my heart with so much joy I can't even explain. If you want your kids to learn discipline, confidence then you want to enroll them today. He teaches so much more then Karate. He teaches kids how to deal with their emotions of fear and anger, anxiety. I've watched very timid children come in and with in weeks they are laughing, kicking, punching and screaming their Kia's and excited about their first belt test. I've also watched kids that can't sit still, learn in a short time to sit, meditate and pay attention. He is awesome with kids and old ladies :)

I started to notice signs of unfair treatment amongst the brown girls, while I should have mentioned it earlier I didn't until it happened to my daughter! She would constantly get ignored and was shown aggressive behaviour/body language by one of the cheer teachers. I have zero tolerance for unwarranted disrespect towards my daughter. It would actually hurt her feelings and when she hurts I hurt. She's only 6, she nor any of the other kids of color who attend Danceworks of Slidell deserve to be treated this way. She is my love, I'm her advocate , and I will no longer keep my silence! I'm sick and tired of my daughter being treated less than fair because of the color of her skin! I pay my hard earned money just like everyone else for her to attend this class! I emailed Dancework to see if we could talk about it but I received no response , I was ignored ! It was heavy on my heart so unfortunately this is what it had to result to! Parents, if you're Ok with your precious little brown princesses or princes for that matter being treated less than fair because of the color of there skin then by all means go ahead allow your kid to attend but we been dealing with injustices for tooooo long! All children should be treated fairly! DON'T TAKE A CHANCE , TAKE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ELSEWHERE! There are other establishments that will treat your child with respect, dignity and with gladness!
