I was here for a work dinner in the private dining room, but I believe this speakeasy is a membership only type of establishment. The entrance was hard to find. It's the glass door left of Zydeco, and you walk up one flight of stairs to the door with a cursive L on it. Very cool, aside from the corporate entrance vibes. What I Ordered: + Cesar Salad (3 leaves only?!); 3/5 + Jambalaya; 4/5 + Carrot Cake (for the boyfriend); 4/5 The jambalaya portions were huge! I brought some back to the hotel for my boyfriend to try and he loved it! I didn't have any of the carrot cake, but he took one bite and knew immediately that would be the dessert that would undo his workout. The salad was unremarkable. My brother is a member and we would go in occasionally for lunch and dinner. Sometimes with our wives, sometimes him and I. The food there is good. It's hard to steer away from the Jambalaya. The drinks are poured strong and the atmosphere is a little more posh than downstairs. The service sucks though. The guy that waits on us for lunch is somewhat arrogant and rushed. He likes to talk over you. It turns me off. The night time ladies are better. At least they're genuinely friendly. Needless to say, there is no appeal to keep the membership and I doubt he'll renew it. You can get the same food downstairs at Zydeco Restaurant and the staff more attentive. read more

I had a most amazing meal here: food, wine, and service were all top-notch. The bar area is lovely, the food is from Zydeco (below the Loft) and honestly the service could not have been friendlier. Of course, we were the guest of a member (this is a private club)... and the staff there like him. So maybe that's why we had such a nice time while the other reviewers did not. I wouldn't let the other reviews keep you from checking this place out - it's lovely. read more

Went here recently with a potential "business partner". There went an hour I'll never get back. Basically a sad, sad cougar den (I mean, at least they were hopeful), and place for folks who really need to feel important. Literally everything about this place reminded me of the United club card lounge at an airport. You know, the one where you pay a bunch of money to sit in faux leather chairs, surrounded by fake plants, choking on clouds of cologne, and then you get to snack on that crazy awesome bowl of apples - all while listening to the guy behind you loudly talk to the person he just met about how successful his new start-up is going to be because he knows (insert name drop). I mean, at least you'll be entertained by how ridiculous the whole thing is - but really, save yourself the time and go to like, any other bar in town. read more

The management is really not professional at all. 4 of the 5 light bulbs in the kitchen where out, which they did replace 3. The TV in the LR had problems. The husband of the management came to fix the TV but it never did work after he left. He was extremely rude when I told him the problem still existed. Very strange attitude and would not even consider an adjustment for the hassles.. I certainly would not come back. read more

What is there to say about the Loft? Amazing! The private dining, street views and professional staff make this one of our favorites downtown. It's one of the only spots you can sit and not be on the table next to you. The tables are big and spread out. The food is fantastic as it comes from the kitchen at Zydeco downstairs. You can read their reviews and understand what I mean. There is a sitting area and very clean restrooms. The bar is stocked and they can make any drink. We don't get date nights often without the kids. When we do this is our spot. If you have an opportunity to dine it will be worth it. read more

What a major disappointment in trying to make arrangements for my sons rehearsal dinner. We've been trying to reach someone for the past TWO months, with no return phone call. Even more disturbing is our future daughter-in-law's parents are members, and they couldn't even get a return phone call. Shame on whoever is managing this pretentious location. Believe me, word of mouth goes a LONG way in making or breaking a so-called hot spot. read more

Had a company event here today with about 40 employees. The staff here was inattentive, lunch was served late, cold and not fresh. The general consensus among employees is, let's save money next time and order take out in the office. read more
