I'd never been to an escape room but my niece said they were fun and suggested we go. So now we're breaking out of jail!
It was a thrilling little adventure but we were newbs and it showed. And we made it doubly tough on ourselves by going to a location were the instructions were in a language that 60% of us don't speak fluently. Combine that with with our girls' ability to be distracted and we were bouncing all over the place. We tried all sorts of things that made no sense and were surprisingly sloppy searching for clues. But after a couple assists from the eye in the sky we finally found our groove. We slowed down and went back over things that we were sure we'd already checked and voila, things started to come together. A little teamwork and some out of the box thinking and lo and behold we escaped before our time ran out.
Everyone had a ton of fun, it was only $18 per and we got a little something to drink and some free snacks afterwards. The staff were super friendly and they were forgiving when we arrived later than we'd expected. I'd eagerly go again.
And my daughter took the whole "escape at any cost" idea a little too much to heart and tried to tear off the top of a locked metal trunk bare handed before the staff had to tell her to lighten up. So to the group that gets the jail after us, if the trunk to the left of the lockers seems a little extra beat up.... I apologize. read more
