This place charges an outrageous amount of fees. I have rented a small unit here since around November of 2024, granted I am not always able to pay exactly the first of the month every time but I have never once failed to pay my monthly rent on top of whatever fees accumulated. This month, June 2025, I was unable to pay my rent of $74 by June 1st which resulted in a declined card fee of $15.45, cool. June 4 rolls around and I am still unable to pay so I get another $15.45 late fee which is totally fine and understandable. Well on June 9 (which is only 8 days past due) I was hit with a $52 "lien fee" which is totally illegal in the state of NC as you can't place a lien until it is at least 15 days delinquent. Meaning I was being charged DOUBLE the amount of rent only 9 days into the month! Thank goodness I actually paid attention rather than just blindly made the payments. Moral of the story, unless you wish to be absolutely blindsided with crazy (not to mention illegal) amounts of fees definitely look elsewhere. read more
