We had the end unit which was nice and a cute little patio and the off season prices and customer service could not be beat! 4 instead of 5 stars because the jets on the big beautiful tub we were told right off the bat was broken, so we weren't able to enjoy that :( Nice to have free DVDs to borrow from the front desk as well as we got quite a rainy/windy day while we were there!! Also appreciate being able to leave our stuff at the reception desk since our bus came 5 hours after the required checkout time. Great little place we'd recommend for visitors to Port Campbell!

Twelve Apostles Motel

The location was very convenient for seeing the fraudulently-named 12 Apostles, especially if you want to be there at dawn. The cabin was chilly, as the entire continent of Australia and every establishment in it seem to be right now. But the heaters in the bedrooms and the heating pads on the beds worked great and that just made everything cozier. There was plenty of hot water. I thought it might run out, but it never did! The towels were clean and didn't have that mildewy smell that I'd been starting to think was endemic in this hemisphere. Could everything have been a bit newer and less worn down? Sure, but it seems like everything is always just a little bit shabbier than you expect when you're traveling, especially after COVID. It was clean and quiet, and the location was great, and that's what matters most. Be careful on the road in and out. It tends to be overrun with kangaroos at dawn and dusk. They are easily startled, and their preferred method of escape is to dive directly under your front tires.

My expectation was maybe more of a farm, but it's definitely accommodation-first with a few animals & fields. Very friendly folks. We stayed in one of the two-bedroom cabins, which are the budget option compared to the nicer, much more expensive cottages. Everything about its finish was functional but plain which was fine; the only bothersome attribute was paper-thin interior walls. Like, you could whisper in one room and hear it in the next.

We came at 11pm anyway. You check in by entering a keycode which they email you, and unlock your tent and bathroom. The tent bedroom and bathroom are apart, about 2 metres, and the walkaway is unsheltered. The bathroom has a glass wall facing a grass valley, and the view is good in the day. Towels and toiletries are provided here. The tent was freezing in March and we didn't use the electric blankets initially, then later did. I cannot imagine coming here in the dead of winter where the temperature is in the low single digits. I suggest you come here in summer/autumn/spring. There is a kettle and tea/coffee provided, but you have to bring your own food.

Parking was designated-parking but the parking area is extremely tide and is very hard to go in&out. Upon check-in for three nights the lady at the desk gave us a small container of milk and said "this should last you for the entire stay" which I thought it was extremely rude given that size is for two servings only. The place has a great location but only 6 rooms have ocean view. The rest are all looking at the parking area and each other's balconies. The staff and the maintenance lack a lot for me to recommend this place with a clear conscience. Just a fair warning. I will not stay here again.

It's very close to the beach and walk to town for restaurants, etc. The fan in our bathroom (room 4) was so noisy it sounded like it was falling apart. It was hard to have the fan (which was combined with the light) on because it was so loud. We did have a microwave, a kettle for boiling water for making coffee or tea, a toaster and two sets of plates and silverware as well as wine glasses and coffee mugs. There was no corkscrew in the room. Might return in one of the new little cabins they are building on the property. They look great.
This Hotel/Motel is very very old! It has had an update since being built, but I would say that the…read morerenovations were done in the 1990s. The room we stayed in wasn't what we were expecting after paying $300 a night for it. The room was mega small. It had a double bed in it, after being led to believe that the room we had booked & paid for already would have a Queen bed. The bed was made without a donna cover on the donna. The mini fridge would freeze anything we put in it. The shower was dirty. There was missing paint chips all over. The tv had 3 channels; abc kids; abc news; and sbs. Even with being connected to the wi-fi the internet coverage was in and out. Don't expect a house-keeping visit whilst you are there. They only come to 'clean' the room on your departure. We had to ask for clean, dry towels for the second night - as the towels are only small and are of very poor quality. The word that comes to mind when thinking of this Hotel/Motel is tacky. Even down to the lamps on the bedside tables - not even matching, looking as if they were from the 1980s. I wouldn't waste my money at this place again, or recommend it to anyone else!

The host harvests fresh eggs for her amazing breakfasts which include greens from her gardens, among other delectables. The host is a great guide for tourists who may need guidance and advice (we stayed with her for 4 days and she gave us a perfect itinerary each day). Our host calls herself a crafter, which she is... however we wished she could embrace the term artist... because her artwork will amaze and impress you: from sculptures, to quilts, to paintings and more... she is a true visionary.
