When I came back I realized that they had set a table in the lobby for me. The mother of the front desk operator (Alex) came out and made me one of the best Italian dinners I have ever had. Everyone was very friendly. You can tell they are upgrading everything from wifi to new TV's with changeable Audio for English or Italian on some channels.

It also has parking, which is very convenient in Bologna. Additionally, it is only 9 min away from the airport by car The breakfast was included in the price, and it is so far the best included breakfast I had in Italy. Overall, I would recommend the hotel, as it offers good value for money. The reason I'm taking stars off is that the shower was scalding hot, and playing with the temperature dial didn't manage to make it colder, and also there was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. However, my friend was luckier with the shower, so maybe it was just my room.

The rooms are beautifully decorated with rich, gilded furnishings and the hotel itself is resplendent with artwork and decor. The staff here are also great and go above to try to make your stay a great one. The bar and restaurant Cafe Marinetti is a fantastic laid back option for a meal as the seating is spacious and the fare quite solid. Be sure to try the tortellini en brodo, tagietelle with bolognese ragu, veal bolognese, and beef cheek. The beef cheek is perfectly tender, flavorful, and succulent in a rich jus that still feels light. The veal chop is juicy and coated in a crispy breading topped with a thin slice of prosciutto and cheese. The pastas are v wet h solid executions of classics. It's a fanatic option if you are doing a quick trip to Bologna as it puts you in the middle of it all.

The hotels service was awesome-the gave us the information we needed and we rented a car at the airport. Upon arriving, if you drive, just be aware there is an intercity tax you must pay when driving a car inside the city. If you do not, you'll get a ticket. If you stay in the hotels parking garage or another garage the city has (that one is cheeper), they will pay the fee for you. Also, the front of the hotel is blocked by barriers (as of Sept 2026) and you can't park immediately in front of the hotel to drop your bags. The hotel is very clean, centrally located, the staff is very helpful and polite, and their breakfasts are great too. They have a ln awesome outdoor patio to sit down and relax, have a drink, or some lunch/dinner if you're not planning to go out.

Also close to many culinary hotspots like Mo mortadella, sable gelato, and forno brisa galliera. We appreciated how friendly the staff were. There is a front desk available with luggage storage. The property was also very clean, the room was spacious, and had a good view of the Main Street. My main complaint is there is no AC when we visited (April 2026). It was a bit warm this time of year. I would stay here again for sure. The wifi works great.

The breakfast is extensive and the coffee strong. I am not sure if there is a charge for a second cup of coffee as they only asked for my room after I ordered it. Now to the hotel. There is no lift. That could be a deterrent for some. I stayed in a junior suite. It was very large for Italian standards. A king size bed. Nice. Only two pillows. (There could be more, I didn't check). The furniture was utilitarian, think IKEA for the decor. The bathroom has a tub with shower doors. I found the taps to be in an inconvenient place as I banged my thighs on it a few times. This hotel does not provide shampoo/conditioner or body lotion. Maybe that's typical, I don't know. But they do provide shoe polish. They could invest in a good grout cleaner as there is a bit of discoloration from use. In the tub there is black mold on the silicon which could easily be removed and cleaned in an afternoon. This I find to be unacceptable as it's an easy fix.

I stumbled upon this lovely hotel when vetting all other hotel options around the area of Bologna. The reviews of the hotel looked decent, the pictures made it look clean, and it wasn't too far out of the city center of Bologna. Well, when we rolled up to this beautiful place my jaw dropped. The fountain was going, the lights were shining, and the hotel lit up like a Christmas tree. We walked into the lobby, and yet another jaw dropping moment. The lobby was clean, spacious, and beautiful with chandeliers and marble tables. The people at the front desk were beyond helpful and friendly. The room was spacious (especially considering there were three of us). The bed was one of the more comfortable beds I've slept in, in my experience of hotels in Europe. The only issue I had was the bathroom. Don't get me wrong, the bathroom was beautiful and spacious, but there was no bathtub, and really no adequate shower. The shower consisted of folding walls; each day the cleaning ladies would clean the room and fold the shower doors back, then each day when we wanted to shower we had to assemble the doors back again - it was a bit strange, but not a total turn off. Now, there was a restaurant that was attached to the hotel. I know what you may be thinking, "blah, hotel restaurant, how good could it possibly be?", well this restaurant was pretty damn good. So good, in fact, that we decided to eat there twice in our three night stint at the hotel! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Bologna.

The hotel is easy to find on Via Bertiera, which is right off Via Dell'Indipendenza (a large main street). The hotel is very close to the center of the city, just five minutes walking to Piazza Maggiore. Check-in is at 2pm but the hotel will hold your luggage for you if you arrive early (and on your last day after the 11am check-out). You don't have to worry about carrying or losing your key (yes, an actual key...not a key card) because you leave it at the front desk whenever you leave the hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, especially Roberto. He speaks English perfectly (others do as well) and helped me with suggestions and directions to get around the city. He was also very accommodating to explain the Internet options to me to make sure I was getting the best value for what I needed (they have a few different wifi options). The one downside to this hotel is that the wifi is not included and it is particularly slow. Breakfast was included in my rate and was a good assortment: biscotti, cornetti (croissant), cake, hard boiled eggs, cereal, mortadella, ham, juice and coffee. There is a small mini bar/refrigerator in the room. Even better, there is a supermarket down the street so you can stock up on water and snacks I paid $75 per night in a double room at the end of August 2013. The room was clean and comfortable with a bed, desk, closet, safe and night table. I had a window facing a courtyard. The room was air conditioned. The bathroom was clean. Although the shower was a bit small, the water pressure was good and I had plenty of hot water. The hotel is not modern but I was only in the room to sleep and it was just fine. The bed wasn't the most comfortable but I still had a nice sleep because I was exhausted from the long day spent touring the city. I think it was good value for the price, location and breakfast included. It is by no means a luxury hotel, but it is a safe, friendly and comfortable place to stay when passing through the city.
