We were in Canton on a Saturday night and needed a place to eat for our party of 4. A lot of places were already booked or had 2 hour waits, but this place had availability and I was able to put my name in over the phone. We rushed over there and were seated immediately at a nice table with a view of the live musicians in the front of the restaurant. The restaurant was full despite no wait and the ambiance was nice. Our server was great and took our drink and appetizer order. We started with the PEI mussels and they were great. The sauce was very flavorful and dipping the bread in the sauce after the mussels were gone was just as good. For my entree, I had the steak frites, It was cooked perfectly and the chimichurri sauce was wonderful. Had a wonderful first experience but made the mistake of going while it was busy on our second visit. Our order took quite a long time to receive and when we finally got our two RKO burgers, they were drenched in grease (including the bun) and the fries were completely soggy and saturated with oil. I dined here after seeing the gluten-free menu options. The server seemed knowledgeable about both the menu and gluten free dining. They even asked the kitchen questions regarding some menu items we wanted to double check. After 15 years of being GF, I understand that there is always a risk dining out but, felt fairly comfortable ordering the steak tacos and creme brûlée. Unfortunately not long after finishing my meal, I became very sick with the typical symptoms I get after ingesting gluten. I'm unsure if it was cross contact or overlooked ingredient(s) but, I would not recommend eating here if you are celiac or have an allergy. read more

I came here about a month ago and my experience was great! The atmosphere is awesome and loved the live music. I was able to get the cheese taken off of the pizza to make it vegan and it was yummy. Had brunch at Local on North last Sunday. The manager (I believe) seated us, took our drink orders and gave excellent menu item recommendations. She was fabulous. We understand her jumping in to help though because once our server took over, he was less than attentive. He was perfectly nice but getting his attention to get a check, then to pay the check etc. took a lot longer than we anticipated. To drink, we had the Old Fashioned and Skinny Paloma. Both were good but not outstanding. I saw they hsd a bottomless mimosa option which id awesome. To eat, we ordered the German Burger (YUMMY with huge sliced of bacon, house tomato jam and the most delicious fresh fries) and the Grouper Tacos with charted beans (my boyfriend ate it all in 5 mins or less, meaning he LOVED it). All staff was wearing a mask and restrooms nice and clean. I recommend making a reservation via Open Table. The atmosphere was open and the vibes all good. Impromptu trip to Canton! Landed us to this gem. Hands down the best experience. From ambience, hostess, server and THE FOOD! Everything we had was impeccable. Starters: Mussels and Marinated Beets. Entrees: Salmon with Risotto (cooked perfectly), Pork Prime Rib (absolutely DIVINE) tender, perfect seasoning and smoke.. and the Chicken, again super moist. Just the right amount of Flavor. Beautifully presented. Finished off, with Creme Brûlée! Hands down the best, I've ever had. Beating the restaurants in NOLA & Charleston. We NEVER finish our food, the Chefs here. Did such an amazing job. We cleaned our plates. I would never, go out of my way to come to any given restaurant. Hands down, L.O.N. will have me coming their way. If you are looking for a place that is loud and boisterous, this is for you! If on the other hand you want to be able to have conversation with the person sitting right next to you, this is not for you, at least not on weekend nights when have a live band playing right during the dinner rush. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, but hey they were packed, so it must be working. Oh yeah and if you are into social distancing, may want to take a pass as well. The food is good but not great. It seems the chef probably knows what he is doing, but unfortunately nothing we ate was very fresh. It took less than 5 minutes to get our appetizer and 10 minutes to get our entree. Not that I'm complaining about fast service, but there simply wasn't time for our food to have been cooked to order, and it showed. The architecture is really cool, and I imagine on slower nights the ambience probably is as well, but with so many other great options in Downtown Canton, it will probably be a while before we try this place again. read more

This place blew my mind! A friend and I grabbed lunch here on a Sunday and did not expect to walk away from this having one of the most delicious meals of our lives! We split a salad and pizza, which seems like such a simple meal, but the freshness and flavor of the ingredients were just unmatched. My friend is a vegetarian so we ordered the Tartufo pizza and an amazing salad with fresh local produce. The Frisée tasted like it was harvested that very morning. Our waiter was so kind and attentive to us and very conscious of social distancing. The restaurant was sparkling clean and even the bathroom was spotless and had a local soy candle burning. What a pleasant surprise in Canton! This was our first meal in the area and Wow was this place amazing! Great live band (killer voice on the singer). Food was fantastic (margarita pizza perfectly cripsy and shrimp diablo - OMG). Crab cakes were good but not best thing we got. The upstairs is very lively and fun, while downstairs is quiet and private feeling if you prefer. My wife and I went there for our 19th Anniversary Dinner the other night. Little did I know it was Prom weekend as well so the place was packed full of prom goers. It was actually kind of fun seeing all of those kids in their formal best. So young and so awkward, lol, gave me flashbacks of my Highschool years. We were glad we had gotten a reservation that night, otherwise, it would have been a dull night eating at some box chain restaurant. The place is very quaint and limited in size, but, that's part of the charm; very cozy and has a "local" feel. I got the Snapper and my wife got the Paella. The food was very good and in fact, the Paella was so good that my wife, who is Spanish, made the comment that this is one of the best she'd ever eaten. The staff were great, attentive, and friendly which always makes the experience much better. We will definitely return and try some other items on the menu. One piece of advice; the parking is tight right there in front of the restaurant so give yourself some time to find a spot. You may even want to get there early and find a spot, then have a drink at one of the other handfuls of pubs in the center before your reservation. read more

Since I was heading back to Orlando on a Tuesday morning after a weekend visiting with family, my brother decided to take the family out for dinner on Monday evening. He selected Local On North, since he and my sister-in-law have been making frequent visits here. Or as he calls it, their go to place. With my sister riding shotgun and providing directions to the restaurant, we met them for dinner shortly before 7:00pm. And we were able to get a parking place right near the entrance. Being a Monday, Local On North was not as busy as on a weekend. So the dining room was more relaxed and quiet, making for an enjoyable evening for food and conversation. We started off with the P.E.I. Mussels appetizer. These are a must! Served in a sauce made up of garlic, heavy cream, and white wine accompanied with a grilled Baguette for dipping into that delicious sauce. For dinner, I ordered the Ahi Tuna Burger. This is amazing! Ground Ahi Tuna seared rare with a soy sesame ginger sauce topped with crispy onions, marinated cucumbers, wasabi mayo, and served on a Brioche bun and French fries. My sister-in-law recommended the RKO Burger. Angus Beef topped with American cheese, tomato jam, crispy onions, and served on a Brioche bun with French fries on the side. I was really curious on trying the Ahi Tuna Burger, but I will try the RKO Burger on a future visit. Other fare our party ordered was the Shrimp Tacos, the Pan-Seared Ahi Tuna, and the Roast Duck with Garlic Mashed Potatoes. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The wood interior and low lighting in the old brick building makes for a comfortable dining experience. I love these old brick buildings! If these walls could talk, I would love to hear their stories. The host who seated us and all of the other patrons was friendly and helpful, as well as our server, who went over the evening specials and any questions we had on the menu with great knowledge. And provided great service with a sense of humor. I wish I had gotten his name. If you have never been here, get directions before coming since several of the streets are one way. GPS is helpful. So is my sister. She had great directions, so driving here was not a problem. Parking is also available in lots nearby. Whenever I visit, me and my sister make a point to have lunch and visit any local antique shops on a Monday afternoon. And since Local On North has lunch hours as well, I think I know where we will go for lunch on my next visit. O read more
