I unexpectedly had to find a new stylist to do my extension services (which I understand is a luxury service and normally cost more than other services) I was booked and scheduled over the phone, Then bombarded with emails and text about signing their salon agreement. They were very persistent about signing this form (your appointment will be canceled if you don't sign ahead of time) and it was a bit of a turn off before ever even getting to the salon. When I sat down at the chair, the stylist and I went over the reinstall process, And she began getting to work. At no point before our appointment or during the consultation was pricing ever discussed. I will take partial responsibility for not asking, but like I said, I am used to paying fairly high prices for my service. When we were almost done with my move up, I finally asked about their pricing and was very shocked To hear that they charge $200 per row to move up extensions. I have been wearing extensions for close to four years and never have I paid prices even close to that. I ended up being charged $400 for a service that took less than two hours to complete. I feel like this salon should have been more transparent with their pricing upfront, especially offering luxury services like they do. The service quality was average and most of the appointment was silent and a little awkward. When she was finished with my move up I wasn't even offered to have my hair styled/ curled Which was a little shocking since that is normally included with a service like this (Especially at this price point). I paid for the service and left a tip for the stylist as she did do a decent job and pricing is not determined by her.. It was at least 2 sizes too big - they put a cap on me first, so I wouldn't notice it was too big. When I returned to Denver, I dropped it with my stylist. While highlighting, my stylist came across a huge black spot on the cap and some had transferred to the hair (I have pictures that corroborate). I called Lauren Ashtyn customer service and they called me a "LIAR" and accused me of making the black spot - refused to take it back and refund the purchase. UNBELIEVABLE!!! The guy at customer service said they even talked to Lauren herself and she said "NO". I have never been treated so horribly! I was suffering from an autoimmune disease at the time and I have muscular dystrophy. Perhaps at the Pop-Up, they thought they could take advantage of me given my disability. I told them I would write negative reviews and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, which I am now doing. In addition to the fraud, they made a terrible business decision, because I've purchased 16 wigs over the last few years from other, more reputable sellers.
