If your definition of quaint is a matress that feels like it's fifty years old (seriously, I could feel the coils) scratchy sheets, an ac unit that blew black stuff everywhere (what the eff?!?) and last but not least, the toilet that overflowed flooding the entire room when I went to pee and made the god awful decision to flush. At 2am. Water everywhere. I went to a bed and breakfast to get away from cleaning up at 2am. You parents will understand I'm sure. The owner doesn't live onsite and although he was a sweet guy I'd never stay here again.

The bed was so soft I literally sank into the fluffy sheets. The scenery was beautiful along with the trails that are marked.

The most amazing trip for myself and my daughter. Beautiful property with a flowing river behind…read moreour cabin and a lake in front. The cabin was amazing, very clean, well kept yet the rustic feel but with all of the amenities. The park was well kept and beautiful. We did trail rides both on Friday and Saturday through the forest and along the river. Our guide was amazing and the two horses we got to ride were perfect. My daughter is experienced, but I am not and both horses were perfectly trained even for an old man like me. We will be back for sure. Ignore the older reviews, the current management, husband and wife, were both some of the best people I've met in a long time and work hard to keep the cabins and grounds perfect.

Horrible! Stalls were filled with mildewed poop! We had to…read moreclean them ourselves before putting our horses in them. (Literally, 2 barrels full) Weeds were grown up around the stalls and in the arena catch pens. (beer bottle thrown near the manure Ben) The grass was freshly cut, though. The people running the place did not greet us in the two days that we were there. The souvenir store was never opened. It was July 4th weekend and there was only 3 OTHER TRAILERS there on that big beautiful place. It's not the same since the new caretakers have taken over last year. You had to book way in advance just to secure a spot, no one is even there, now. We the ppl helped pay for this place with many stays and now we none feel welcome, anymore. It's an Empty facility now! Caretakers were rude and it seemed we were a burden to be there on the one occasion of speaking with them. We had major issues with our plug hookups last October, causing my beautiful dog to get BADLY electrocuted, when they had just taken over. (Large male collie and he cried out and loud) No one was accommodating. It caused my husband to have to replace the converter in our 39' Lakota along with microwave. To say "disappointed" is an understatement. We have supported the owner for all of these years. We actually, reached out to him through messenger. He said he would be calling me back concerning our experience but never reached out. It's been 3 weeks now. Unfortunately, the running of BCR has changed drastically and it's very sad. This place was a fun place for our family and children to relax and have fun. To say we miss the other caretakers is an understatement..! It was good days when all the horse folks had a part in supporting. Date of stay: July 2026 Traveled with family

Everyone we met there working or camping were friendly. As you looked around the park you could almost sense what it was like in its glory days. There was a well planned swimming hole (though now a huge tree lay in it), there are cute gazebos sprinkled throughout the park and a great trail that circled the lake. We floated around in our kayaks and Boots even was able to fish. I spent a day cleaning a walkway/trail that was so covered with years of debris that it was slippery and dangerous. The lack of attention to this (and SO many parks across the country) is sad. And we are so close to losing these gorgeous spots due to lack of attention. An added bonus was that the little towns nearby had everything we needed for some camper repairs and such.

We finally found a grassy area next to a site to set up our tent. When we went swimming the next morning, we found a diaper floating in the water. Maybe if I visit a "Murky Springs" I will find clear waters. Not impressed. Will not be back. The only plus was the fire pit set up with a raising and lowering system which made cooking much easier.
