Lots of restaurants are closed now as the season has finished, but we were glad La Soffita was still open. The food was fabulous - we had spaghetti carbonara, and spaghetti bolognese, both delicious. We both love garlic, and thought the Italians used lots of it, but we've had very little in the few days we have been here. So we must learn some Italian, as we did have to laugh when we asked the waiter if he understood the English word garlic, and we were going to ask for extra. My husband had to mime stinky, smelly breath, and he said "ah yes" and went. We laughed thinking he probably thought we didn't want any, because it smells. 2 minutes later he came with a plate with 4 garlic cloves on it! We politely thanked him, and looked at each other and laughed. We proceeded to cut it up, and when our spaghetti arrived we added it At the end of the meal the waiter brought over 2 bottles of liqueur, and 2 glasses. One of the liqueurs was a banana flavour, and to die for. This was on the house, and very much appreciated. The meal was very reasonable, and we are sad to be going home in the morning, as we would like to have visited again. Ciao!

It gets very busy around 9 pm, which seems to be the popular time to dine in this area. I had the seafood linguine which came with piles of seafood and was exactly what I was hoping for with the area being so close to the sea. Typical classic Italian seaside fare. We also ordered the fritto misto to start which also came with a large portion of fresh fishes, calamari, and shrimp. Delicious! Price is a bit higher than other restaurants in the area. 4 stars.

I made the right choice of venue. What an absolutely gorgeous outdoor cafe with charming, efficient and totally on the ball staff and the fastest service I've had since arriving in Italy. I even had a few language lessons with the waitstaff who humoured me as I practiced my very beginner Italian on them. The first thing that caught my eye and consequently ordered was piadina alla porchetta. A spectacular choice. The piadina itself was light, slightly toasty, with a nice hint of olive oil but the main attraction was the pig. Delicious, sumptuous, well seasoned porchetta made this dish a massive hit for me. And for just €5 I was suitably impressed. I happily spent a solitary hour here soaking up the atmosphere, sipping on coffee and reflecting on my delicious meal. Thumbs up from me. Next time I'll be trying their gelato desserts too. They looked delicious!

The Best in Forlì…read more Forlì is not a big city. However it can hide fantastic jewels such us this little Trattoria. This is not far from the center of the town, but you can easily find to park your car. The food is awesome. The taste of Romagna (the Region of Italy where Forlì is located) with its typical pasta and meats is revisited with a modern touch. I strongly recommend this restaurant not only for the food but also for the huge cave where you will find a big selection of local wines.
