Seems pricey for what you get. This time I have a 4 and 2 year old. The owner was there, but not super friendly to customers. She just looked at us and kept doing what she was doing. The place is still well decorated and cute, can just tell it's used. I didn't have any food this time.

Stumbled on tiny play on the web and so glad we booked. The online reservation process was a little much for a one time visit, but it worked out. The play area was so clean, staff were friending and the kids were thrilled. Enjoyed the separate baby area. They have a coffee bar and separate birthday party rooms. We will go again if in Columbia.

There was ample indoor seating, but the patio won out. Our servers were very friendly, but at times absent a little too long. Perhaps. As it is a rest stop on the trail and people linger around resting. We had a good time visiting and hanging out. The menu was hard to pick from, so many great choices, breakfast all daylong. I ordered the pulled pork and pickle sand which with fries. It t was good and the fries were crisp and fresh. My son had the patty melt and he said it was good. He particularly liked the spread that came on the side. I don't think it made it to his sandwich, he ate it with his fries. I had a drip coffee and he had a latte. Good, but $4 for a drip coffee and he seems a little over priced. His latte was $6+, also good but over priced. I like this little trial side cafe. Maybe stick with water. Oh, they also have wine available. I'd go back if I'm in the area.

On Mon/Wed/Fri they have a vegetable sale, 4-8ish, or until they run out. They have herbs, squash, greens, etc. And it's cheap. They even take EBT. The farm also has chickens on site, and they occasionally give classes, recently (summer 2010) they had a demonstration for culling chickens. Not for the urban squeamish. There is also a lot of composting going on, and they have that worm-composting, too, and classes on all of this stuff. I like this place, because the only other farmer's markets are way outside of downtown, and since I live downtown I can actually walk to this one in 15 minutes. The folks are nice as can be, and it's a great resource for us city folks to learn more about where our food may come from, how it goes from manure to our plate (sorry for the imagary there...),

She also answered all of our annoying questions without hesitation ;) I ordered the Mac & Cheeseburger with French Fries. I'm always down for a burger and put some mac & cheese on top, SOLD. Anyway, the burger is topped with White Cheddar macaroni and cheese, bacon, Colby Jack cheese, and toasted panko bread crumbs. Served open-faced on fresh-baked artisan sourdough bread. DE-LI-CIOUS!!! Their French Fries, O.M.G... they through you off because they are pretty dark in color. But, don't fret, these fries are YUMMY! They are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and seasoned very well. The Manager is always around, and he takes the time to stop by every table to see if they are doing ok or need anything. Top notch service on his part! Did I mention they have specials every day? Kids eat free on Tuesday's and they have a $10 steak dinner special on Saturday's. Yep, you heard me right. If you haven't tried Hy-Vee Market Grill, GO GET YOU SOME!! And please, don't be thrown off because this restaurant is in a grocery store, they DO WORK in that kitchen!!! Things started out well, the BF had a tasty Manhattan and I had a mocktail that was subtle and delicious, and not overpriced as mocktails often are. But alas. The house salads that we ordered were overdressed in a vinaigrette so acidic we couldn't finish them. And there wasn't much to them. Other than greens and fried shallots and pickled red onions, there was a tiny dusting of some finely grated cheese. And who needs two kinds of onions and nothing else on the salad? Then we each had a bowl of the matzo ball soup, which was ridiculous. Three matzo balls sitting in a quarter-inch of broth that was so unbelievably salty that we couldn't eat that either. We ended up asking for hot water to dilute the broth to a level of saltiness that was edible. The chicken was okay and the matzo balls were okay. A little gummy. But the broth was just awful. It all made me wonder if the chef had lost their sense of taste due to Covid or something. Seriously. I've had that happen to me a couple of times and all I could taste was really basic stuff like sour and salt. And our waitress was totally uninterested in trying to make our experience better. She wasn't rude, she was just indifferent to the fact that we'd been served two courses that we absolutely couldn't eat. Didn't offer us anything to compensate or even express any sympathy about it. We got out of there as fast as we could and made ourselves feel better with an Andy's frozen custard.
