The Lloyds pharmacy at Whalley does have a wide range of products in store including small toys, perfumes, everyday medicines and vitamins, make up and cosmetics. It is conveniently located beside the local GP / Health centre, offers a prescription service for those needing regular repeats, and has a private room for consultations and checkups. Staff are generally friendly and knowledgeable about medicines and minor illnesses / injuries.
It lets itself down by not having sufficient amounts of prescription medicines in stock; with staff often asking customers to return later in the day or the following one.
It causes further inconvenience by remaining closed due to the qualified pharmacist not being available, which happens quite often. Sometimes, there are three or four people outside the front door at 8.30am waiting to collect medicines promised the previous day but pharmacy assistants cannot open up or handover owed items unless and until the pharmacist arrives.
Not sure whether this is problem exclusively to the Whalley store but it is certainly a problem and causes a lot of inconvenience to people using its services. Even more so considering that some will have had to pay £1.00 for parking on the Whalley Arms care park!! read more
