The artist or the craft lady not sure what to call her is super friendly and she doesn't mind trying every thing and taking pictures. She sits their and makes masks in front of you. The place is amazing i wanted to cry not to afford anything there, but still a pleasure to be there and to look at her amazing work. The prices are expensive but absolutely worth every euro. She uses real crystals and the pieces are exotic not like any other shop.

I needed to replace a tube of white Gouache and they had it, so I could keep painting while I was in Venice The address is correct, 1758, but Yelp shows me the wrong place for that address. I told Erin, Jim, and Gayle that I would catch up after deciding that I wanted to go inside and explore further. I ended up buying a small leather and metal necklace as a gift and wishing that I would have pulled the trigger on a neat little pochette that was calling my name in her window. When I returned to the US, I contacted her about that item and a cool camera bag that she makes for esteemed local photographer Marco Secchi. These are times where I wish Paypal or another electronic payment service were more universally available. I ended up going the Iban wire transfer route, which costs a "bit" extra. Yet, the bags were expertly crafted (at her "laboratory" on Giudecca Island), delivered quickly, and easily represents one of the most unique memories of what Gayle and I consider to be a very special Italian vacation.

I went to this shop in Venice in July of 1999 and bought leather bound journal which I still use. My journal is beautiful and is of great quality. It's held up through many travels and is filled with all of my memories from after I graduated college. Definitely worth stopping by.

He hand makes all of the pieces in the shop and you will find him sitting there making new pieces when you visit. I found a necklace that I liked but I really wanted it in blue and he didn't have that color readily available so he offered to make me a necklace on the spot. It took about 10 minutes and we were able to make a video of him making the necklace so it is a very special piece. His prices are super reasonable and everything is authentic Murano and handmade (unlike many of the shops which are now carrying glass for China). He is also super friendly and gave us great advice about visiting Murano and the surrounding islands. I highly recommend you pay this shop a visit if you are in Venice.

It felt very unique and immediately stood out amongst the shops we'd seen in passing. Came to find out this is the work of local illustrator Maria Mariano, she owns the shops and is the one sitting there drawing as you come in. She has so many beautiful, unique gifts in here. And you can actually buy her original illustrations as well. For someone who Loves giving gifts that leave an impression, feel heartfelt and memorable, this was a goldmine. I was overwhelmed with so many options. I would highly recommend you seek this place out f your looking for a special something for the children (or child at hearts) in your life.
