They have a more even ratio of bikes/ellipticals/treadmills/climbers/urgs. They have a full compliment of weight equipment. They have one room for classes. They even have a tanning bed or two. It is hardly ever so busy that you can't get a machine. But I don't love the ellipticals as much as the ones at the Y, and GHF doesn't have a pool. It's further away from town, but my main complaint is the expense. For the amount that my mother payed for a full family membership, including classes and pool use at the Y, you only get a single membership with classes and gym use. The class fees and gym fees are separate. I find that annoying. However, I will cough up 5$ to use the gym on the days I see my trainer. I figure, if I'm in town anyway, might as well try to see her once to make up for the debauchery I probably engaged in the night before.

I saw that it was a 4.8/5 stars and wanted to see if it lived up to the hype. Indeed it did. It's gym definitely defines Performance Gym because it practically had every piece of equipment you would need to complete a workout. Daily pass was $12. The gym also provided a locker room with showers and sauna. Staff was incredible. I'd highly recommend going to this gym.

I'm not a regular member of the Gettysburg YWCA, but they serve me several times per year as a…read morereenactor. They're EXTREMELY gracious to Union and Confederate Civil War Reenactment community year-round, not just at the summer event. If you're there for an event, they will let you use their showers for token fee. The locker rooms are very large, very clean and very safe (they don't allow cell phone use inside in order to protect the women and children, which I appreciate more than I can say). The showers are clean and feel oh-so-good after camping in the heat and dust. The staff is very friendly and polite. They have helped me with directions and local meal recommendations on several occasions. The pool area and weight room are excellent, and the members I've talked to give them a high rating. I hope to move to Gettysburg permanently in the next few years, and I will definitely be getting a regular yearly membership.

I suppose this is because the C (Christian) is more important than the W (Women) in YWCA. To think a WOMAN rudely told me I needed to wear shirt. I was beyond shocked. She clearly does not support other women and their body confidence. I would not recommend going here if you strive to cultivate an environment of equality. It may be a rule the YWCA has but we are striving to build a progressive society and establishments like this hold us back.

I started at the $10/mo but have since moved up to their Black membership and I enjoy other locations as well as the hydrobeds and massage chairs (includes tanning, if you're into that.) They may not have classes, but their trainers have always been helpful in creating programs in alignment with my goals and expanding my knowledge. THIS Planet Fitness versus Other Planet Fitnesses: I came to this location from another area and have seen others while traveling. Based on my observations, there have been concerns regarding customer service and professionalism. The morning manager often appears engaged in conversations at the front desk and does not consistently interact with or acknowledge customers. In addition, I was able to enter the facility for approximately a week without being asked to scan my guest pass, which raises concerns about adherence to established procedures. While most areas of the facility appear clean and well maintained, the showers have not consistently met the same standard. Customer service is extremely important to me. Greeting customers, offering a smile, and creating a welcoming environment are essential aspects of a positive customer experience. What is most concerning is the perception that a customer may be treated differently after expressing an opinion or leaving a review. Feedback, whether positive or negative, should be received professionally and used to address areas of concern. Rather than focusing on the individual who provided the feedback, efforts should be directed toward resolving the issues identified and improving the overall customer experience.

I have a student membership and pay month-to-month for $25 without a contract. They have various other membership packages and definitely cater to family fitness. Not only do you have the cardio room and 2 weight rooms (both free weights and machines), but they have a day care center, a giant gymnasium for basketball and some of the larger group fitness classes like Zumba, and then other smaller rooms for yoga, etc. All fitness classes are included in your membership. You're also able to pay to workout or go to a class per day as opposed to a monthly membership if you go less frequently. They offer personal training and have a fun, warm, and friendly staff to help you get settled. If you're looking for a gym to feel comfortable, have options, and not pay ridiculous monthly fees, this is a place worth checking out! And the funny part is that most people don't know that this building is a gym! It's the old armory building on Longwell at the entrance of the park off Main Street and across from Paradiso.
