We love the cozy atmosphere, the kind service, and delicious food. We have tried a lot of the menu. The specials have to be my favorite. The meatloaf sliders with homemade buns, mashed potatoes and gravy were sooo savory and comforting. My husband had the steak tacos. He said they were so tender and he will definitely be back for more! Dessert.... Save room for homemade peanut butter pie! It was light and fluffy with a crunchy chocolate crust. This treat has just with enough peanut butter to not overwhelm like others we have tried. I don't usually do reviews. I had been to this place like, 7 years ago while traveling from Columbus to Indy. I was in the same situation again a couple weeks ago so my coworkers and I stopped by again. So I guess we got there right after a party of 25. Our server was a bit frazzled, but did get our order in before that party - so i am grateful for that but she rushed us through the ordering process so i didn't get to order everything i wanted. Food came out pretty quick and I didn't order the appetizer that I wanted because I thought I would be full. i got the portabella sandwich. It was ok... not great and not hot, but it was okay. My coworkers pizza came out without the toppings she ordered on it and she sent it back and it sounded like the servers were arguing about it but it eventually came back (after everyone else was done eating) with the right toppings on it. I was still hungry so when I knew we would be waiting on the pizza I ordered those boscoe sticks I wanted. Those 2 sticks didn't come out until after my coworker got her pizza and finished eating it. It was probably because that large party messed up their flow, but the food was so-so too. read more

A great little local place. The menu is huge so there's bound to be something for everyone! Personally, I love their pizzas! The Bugsy BBQ is also good! If you're a cherry Coke or cherry Sprite drinker, it'll come complete with maraschino cherries. Theyfe even got a good kid's menu! Beware! If you go during busy times (lunch or at night when there's live music) parking can be a bit difficult so don't be surprised if you have to drive around a bit to find a spot. read more

I like Little Sheba's. Like many people have pointed out, it's one of the few decent places in Richmond. Mostly everything else is a chain or dirty and crappy... or both. Anyway, there's a ton of seating. I've never had to wait to get a seat... but I have waited a long time to be acknowledged by the servers. It's hit or miss. They LOVE men, so if you're a guy and go in there with your buddies, expect excellent service. However, they can be a little slow getting to anyone else and checking back, at least from what I've experienced. My (female) cousin and I went there for lunch awhile back and a group of firefighters came in after we did... let's just say we were not at the top of the priority list once Richmond's Finest was there. I had a similar experience when I went there with my mom. But the food is excellent. I usually order Dani's Reuben or Don Ho's Hawaiian chicken sandwich... always with the potato salad. And I agree with Allan about the vanilla Coke... I don't know what kind of syrup they use, but it's magical. Minus one star for iffy service and being closed on Sunday (WTF, Sheba?!). If anyone is visiting Richmond from out of town, Little Sheba's is always the place I recommend. They have endless sandwich options with fun names that'll make you giggle like a little girl. They often have live music here as well which is always a nice added touch. I do have to downgrade them one star for the service. The waitresses are great at what they do and super friendly, there's just not enough of them. When you have 30-40 tables in a restaurant, you just got to have more than 2-3 people working. I would love to visit here for lunch, but I know I would never make it out in time. I would be here a heck of a lot more if the service was quicker. read more

My daughter was visiting Earlham College and part of her quest was to determine whether a Texas girl like her could make it in a small town in Indiana. Besides the wonderful follks at Earlham, she was heartened that she could grab a bite to eat in Richmond. As a vegetarian, she wasn't sure what her options would be off-campus, but Little Sheba's has put her at ease. We started with the Bosco Sticks - my goodness, what a delicious feast of delirious cheesy carboliciousness! We went with the waitress's suggestion to try them with butter/garlic. We did, but I'm now wondering what they are like with the marinara (next time!). I ordered "Brooke's I Don't Eat Meat" with potato salad. My daughter ordered "Mark Mader's Veggie Burger" but went with no cheese and regular mustard. She also had the potato salad. First, let's echo some of the other reviews - both me and my daughter agreed that this is the BEST potato salad either of us have ever had. Even better than mom's. My girlie loved the veggie burger and expressed excitement that she has a place to get a good veggie burger in Richmond (she is giving an enthusiastic "yes, I'm coming to Earlham", so this is important!). My sandwich was delicious. I wish I could carry it back here to Austin, TX. I love the mixture of the feta cheese (which was creamier and less salty that the feta I find at our local middle eastern grocery in austin) with the olives and pepperoncini (called "mild peppers" on the menu, but I recognized them). The ambience is warm and enticing. I enjoyed looking around. The Depot District is just hands-down cute. We enjoyed walking around after our delicious lunch. I met some friends here for lunch. I was early, so I walked around the block. This is a great district downtown with a bunch of well preserved old brick buildings. There are several places worth visiting. Little Sheba's is primarily a sandwich shop and what wonderful sandwiches! It will be difficult to decide what to order - the selection is quite large and there are many creatively designed sandwiches to choose from. I had the Dirty Rotten Scoundrel - ham and turkey with green pepper and pineapple with their special sauce served on pita bread - wonderful warm, fresh pita bread. The Scoundrel is delicious and I am pretty confident you've never had something like this before. Beyond the sandwiches they have dinner specials and pizza. They have a large patio for outdoor seating and the same people appear to own the adjacent bar. read more

I'm quite amazed that this restaurant wasn't listed on yelp, and that I had to manually add it myself! Wow-zas..... Anyway, my brother and girlfriend go to Earlham College in Richmond, and I'd heard tons of raves about this restaurant for ages from him. I went w/my parents to visit him and his girlfriend over the weekend, and talked them into taking me and my parents here. The server we had(think her name was Tanya, but not sure), was really friendly as heck. Not to mention, the fact that my brother knew her well, from past times dining here, made the experience even better(since she, herself, had also sometimes visited the restaurant in town where my brother was a server at). And of course, anyone who regularly or often dines at a restaurant, and are on a very friendly basis w/particular server(s), knows what that'll mean, such as the nice little extra perks you get........ :) Anyway, as the website mentions, it primarily serves sandwiches, but it also has a selection of burgers, pastas, and a few other types of food, too. Plus, I noticed it had a pretty darn good beer, AND wine selection, too(though I'm not really a fan of wine, and am more a beer guy, myself). The bar area(also called "Zini's Place", which has its own street entrance, and also is connected in the inside to the regular dining area), though it was closed off at the time I dined there, looked pretty nice too. I snuck into the bar area and took a good look at it, so I can vouch for it being nice. Whole place is completely non-smoking(including the bar area, or "Zini's Place"), but since I'm only an occasional smoker(and for the most part, don't smoke at restaurants, and only smoke at adult-only venues and bars/taverns), that didn't bother me much. Also shockingly, I loved the fact that this was the first time I'd ever had a DECENT Vanilla Coke in my entire life. (DON'T get me started on how much I HATE the bottled Vanilla Coke that's sold at convenience stores, and how many times I've drank Vanilla Cokes from restaurants using their own vanilla syrup, only for that syrup to be terrible.) Dunno what makes their syrups so good, but they definately use WAYYYY better soda syrup, than what most ordinary restaurants use. And I loved how they inserted tons of cherries into the Cherry Coke my dad got(the fact that our server put extra cherries into the soda, is what I mean by what I said above about extra perks w/servers, when you're(my brother, in this case) on great terms w/'em....). :) I'll sum up my review by saying that I'm amazed that such a unique + independent restaurant like this exists in a town the size of Richmond! (and that not every restaurant in town is some chain restaurant along one part of town, such as how the restaurant scene mostly is where I go to college, in the Bloomington/Normal, IL area). read more

I've been here lots cause it is a staple of Richmond, and honestly I've had good and bad experiences. But! most of them were good. Of the bad experiences it was usually with service. It seems to me that this place is always busy so the servers sometimes lack because they know they will have people there no matter what and are slow with refills and attentiveness. The food of course is still great. I love all of the sandwiches here and the potato salad is great. Great building and location too. So nice that they use this building instead of building a new one on national road like so many of the new chain restaurants in Richmond are doing. They also have live music here which is really cool. It's definitely a must try if you're in Richmond and need to grab lunch or bring friends for dinner cause there is plenty of room. read more

To me, this seems like a well kept secret in a small industrial town...but I noticed the locals that frequent this place are mostly the well-to-do families of the city. Everyone in the place knew each other. I'm not used to that. The food was pretty great! I'm always up for a great unique grilled-cheese sandwich. The beer was cheap, but then again so is the cost of living in Richmond. I loved the atmosphere and I especially loved the historic neighborhood! So cool! My only complaint? The live music was pretty terrible, but that in no way affects my star rating. I would definitely recommend this place! read more

I've hit this place 15 times in past 18 months. My standard lunch joint if near the area. Great burgers - love love love Farley, Ignoramus and the Sheba. They let you tinker with the toppings to make it your own. Wife get the reuben or stupid idiot. Once was disappointed with the chili nachos and hasn't reordered (watery chili - got soggy quick). This gem of a restaurant is nestled on a corner in the Depot District, lots of antique shopping and a handful of bars up and down the street. Sheba's has lots of seating; there's a bar attached with TVs and then a proper restaurant (no TVs, thankfully). I ordered a Greek Gyro (on the advice of other Yelpers) from their broad sandwich and pizza options. Everything had very sassy and clever names and all reasonably priced. My gyro came with a pickle and a side (I had the pasta salad). There's a full bar and wine, but I ordered a beer. The beer list is pretty standard, nothing too inspired, but it does offer brews like Goose Island and Stella. The table next to me ordered pizza and it smelled great. In nice weather there's a couple tables on the sidewalk outside. All in all, a lovely and economical dining experience. read more

I was so happy this place was able to reopen after Covid. The staff there are always pleasant even at peak hours. There is sometimes a wait on your food but nothing significant. Very disappointed as a group. Prices are high for what you get. The server, when we were ordering sandwiches said "potato salad?" every time so either they thought a lot of it or they had a LOT of it. So I had high hopes but no it wasn't that good. I've had better from Meijer. Nachos seemed covered with canned chili, poor flavor. However, it was 1:00 and we were all hungry so yes we ate them- but it was a poor plate of nachos for the price. Not a good place for a Vegan. Kid 1's only choice was the Healthy Choice which was clearly not worth the price charged. So warning for Vegans coming to Richmond! Go elsewhere! Kid 2 got a burger (Farley's) which just looked really sad. He also asked for two sides (sandwiches come with one side) so we were charged $2 for his bag of Ruffles. His own words? Even the pickle was lackluster. The Italian Stallion was mostly bread. Very slim meat and toppings. What's the opposite of generous? Yeah. The only one who said "this is good" was the guy sitting next to me. So 1 out of 5. We hope to find better dining when we return to Richmond. Yes we were that disappointed. I did find the potato salad very interesting: I think it had pickled watermelon in it. I wish the chicken Gyro had more ingredients in it.
