First off... I know you , as I have done, read through all…read morethe reviews and see the bad as well as the good ones and then sit back and scratch your head and ponder... Well let me tell you this... stop pondering... if you are looking for one of the best attorneys in criminal defense... you have found him.. I am a babe in the woods.. having a squeaky clean background and then to all of the sudden have my life thrown upside down... not knowing which way was up and what was going to happen... Thomas went to work... from the first time I talked to one of his associates on the telephone for the "free consultation" I was told, that they wanted me to come in... not for a paid consultation but yet a continuation of the free consultation. This was done with Thomas directly, and he listened and then immediately saw numerous avenues. He didn't give me false hope, he told me facts , and what to expect and exactly how he was going to handle the case... Now onto the other items people have said in their reviews... "lack of communication" This firm is BUSY, and rightfully so, being one of the best. However he still has time for his clients, he is just in high demand. Trust me, no news is good news.. and if he had time to talk to everyone every minute of the day, then he isn't in that high of demand... so I took that as a positive... When there is something .. trust me he will call you directly , immediately and tell you what's happening. He works with his contacts, and trust me the prosecutors know him, his reputation, and how he shows them the true law... what our founding fathers had intended. The status of my case, was positive, however... even with a negative status I would have left the same review. I pray to god I never have to use An attorney again, however when my life hangs in the balance... there is NO other attorney I would trust more.

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE CROCODILE SMILE!!…read more Its a damn shame no one was considerate enough to post about this guy prior to me. EVERYTHING I'd stated previously is 100% truth (and had to be remove due to his legal threat)! Now 8 months later and this man has apparently finally figured out this review website exist. He now has sent me a letter threatening suit, basically an attempt to suppress a little constitutional right called "Freedom of Speech & Press." So the best I can tell you is DON'T DO IT!! This guy becomes 90% unavailable once you give up the retainer. He treated me more like a nuance than a client. His ego is off the scale and if you're as so bold as to confront him on his poor disposition he'll never let you hear the end of it. Regardless of the miles of evidence I'd given him he basically didn't even get the gist of my defense until the day of. His "shushing" me in court, hand gesturing me to shut up, allowing the plaintiff's party to sit there for 5 hrs and attack my character with hardly a word of protest. WOW! I can't stress enough how I WISH I'd of simply done this by myself!! YES!!! I'd of been better off just going it alone from across the country. Don't make my mistake, find a lawyer who doesn't just do the bare minimum... find one who cares about you or at least has professional ego enough to actually WANT to win. Just Ridiculous! Good Luck

Despite issuing subpoenas, he never interviewed crucial witnesses nor prepare for trial. The two most egregious actions, out of several, were him not securing premarital assets and him withdrawing from my case less than a week before the third trial appearance. During the first trial appearance, he pulled me outside the courtroom and told me he spoke with the opposing attorney about what WE are willing to SETTLE for and started rambling off numbers. To say I was shocked, is an understatement, During the second appearance, he had an unfinished formality for another case and when asked which case he wanted to pursue, he chose the other. At this point, I had paid Mr. Stevens five figures in legal fees and had nothing in exchange. Upon receiving his next invoice, I demanded that he perform as agreed and refused to pay another dime until he did. He then withdrew from the case, leaving me to represent myself. While this sounds horrible, it was a blessing in disguise. Since he had not presented sufficient discovery to ensure that the premarital assets were indeed mine. all of my assets were subject to division. By the grace of God, the judge denied the divorce which gave me the opportunity to regroup and find a qualified attorney. Ayo Steven is a Settler as described my a court staff. He will go through SOME of the motions of taking your case to trial with no intention of doing so. He will also bill accordingly. I'm surprised he's still barred. There are much better and more honest attorneys available.
