Mrs. Granger forbade the use of the word and gave anyone using it an after school writing assignment. -the students continue to use it. parents began complaining about their sons & daughters being punished. -Nick learns to be rebellious without triggering punishment. -Nick is rewarded with 'frindle" eventually being included in a dictionary. he gets royalties from commercial usage of "Frindle"-a disney "feel good" ending. book was used in some elementary schools.

Livermore (beyond the Fairy home and spooky themed LFL) was almost entirely a disappointment in the type of books the honey and I like to read. This location held an Encyclopedia Brown book, which was my favorite young detective series when I was a kid (next to Nancy Drew of course) and a wonderful selection of young adult and adult novels. It was so refreshing to end the day on a Book Box not chock full of cheap children's titles and even though the wording on the box needed some love, sometimes something super disreputable boxes (as we found in another Little Free Library) can hold amazing things. Yay Little Free Library!

White) *by the author of "Charlotte's Web" -a young swan (Louis) has a birth defect whereby he is unable to speak. . -the swan learns to communicate in English and is able to write out messages with chalk on a black slate. -to enable Louis to communicate with other swans, his father procures a trumpet illegally for him to communicate. -Louis learns to play the trumpet expertly, earning enough $ for his father to pay off his debts & to serenad Serena, the swan of his dreams. **this tale is an uplifting saga for children with disabilities showing that perseverance and work can overcome such difficulties.

Everything in the box was Halloween themed, from the glowy Halloween decor outside to the fake glow in the dark teeth, vampire duckies and glitter spiders inside! It was so much fun to see an entirely themed box, I was even super excited I had the perfect item! A DVD of The Witches I'd decided to pass along! Selection wise the books were very mixed, with more of a focus to the theme than any age group or genre, which I actually really appreciated. A big plus was that there were extra items and movies to try beyond books, which is always a sweet and cool surprise when we come across them! I grabbed a witchy duck that I put on my desk at work for the Hallo Holiday and promised myself we'd try and come back around Xmas. I would love to see it all decked out then!
