Luckily, SIOMS Forest Hills was my 6th call and they do accept my mom's insurance #score Exactly two weeks ago today, I made an appointment and also, requested that my mom would be under the care of Lydia J. Lam, DDS. Yesterday, I filled out the online application while Google translating the questions so my mom can answer them. You can hop on the E or F train to Forest Hills - 71 Av station which SIOMS Forest Hills was conveniently located on the busy Austin Street. My mom and I decided to kill some time across the street at Target because nowadays you can't sit in the office if you get there too early. I looked up at the staircase and my legs started to wobble because I have a fear of heights. Luckily, there was an elevator that you can take up to the second floor...phew! The waiting area was small though with 6 chairs which you still can social distance. Oh boy, there was still a language barrier because Dr. Lam only spoke Cantonese. My mom can understand Cantonese but she replied in Mandarin. Thanks, Dr. Lam for extracting my mom's tooth today. If you need to use the restroom, ask the Front Desk Administrator for the key then walk straight down and make a right. Note: Dr. Lam is only here on Wednesdays!

After many years of thinking about implants,…read moreand after much research, I finally took the "plunge" and after reading their many wonderful reviews, I decided to go to Drs. Alex and Jason Hecht, Staten Island Aesthetic and Implant Dentistry for a consultation and I am so glad I did. My case was I believe unusual as I had to have bone reconstructed and was not sure that I was even a candidate for a full set of dental implants at that time, or at all. After a consultation and much reassurance, I then began my journey in May of 2022. It was a very long procedure for me because of my bone density but I left their office on day one with my "temporary" full set of implants. I could not even believe that my implants were only "temporary", as they were beautiful. I cannot explain how precise Dr. Jason Hecht was while he performed my surgery. Every detail is gone over and over to make sure that it is absolutely perfect. It is not like a "factory" where you go in and out without much care before and/or afterwards. Their dental technicians and lab techs are amazing. They make you feel so comfortable and relaxed during every procedure and are taught every aspect of this process. I was actually amazed how much they know and how they work with each other to make sure everything is perfect. As soon as you walk in the door, Jackie their Receptionist greets you and you feel like family. After many procedures because of my bone density, which by the way, was miraculously corrected, I am happy to report that as of February 2023, I have my "permanent" full set of implants and when I was handed a mirror to take a look at my "new teeth", I could not believe my eyes and I had no words at all, it is truly a miracle. That first evening when I had my full set of implants I actually ate some Italian Bread and a handful of nuts, no kidding!! Do not hesitate to make an appointment for a consultation, you will never be disappointed. It is not just about looking good, although that is very important, but it is also for health reasons that you should speak with someone who has the knowledge and who can answer any questions you may have.
