This company took our money and never sent us an item. Over $200 just gone and they do nothing but LIE. Total scam.

Staff is friendly and always looking to help you if you have questions. Sales are well put together, reasonably priced and attractively placed for ease in browsing. I very much like attending an estate sale put on by ABOUT FACE as it is a fun, laid back, leisurely experience with lots of great treasures! I look forward to upcoming sales with ABOUT FACE. I know the prices will be fair, the selection is varied and the staff is attentive and helpful.

I attended an estate sale on 5/9/26 in San Antonio, off Huebner/NW Military. When I arrived, the…read moreowner of About Face Estate Sales, Charles Keaton, was outside and said, "You better hurry up, Junior. We're closing soon." I replied, "Okay, buddy." I went inside and asked about buying some leftover books. He said, "For a reasonable price, not something like $10" -- which I wouldn't have offered anyway. Shortly after that, he thought it was a good idea to slap me on the back like we were best buds. Maybe he didn't like me throwing back his condescending demeanor outside. I went upstairs to look at the books and made an offer of $50 for everything. He immediately said, "That's way too low. That's way too low," then said that "she wouldn't accept that," which I assumed meant the homeowner or the person selling the contents of the house. He then said, "Yeah, she'd rather just donate them," which was fine. He also mentioned that she had a lot of money and acted like the books weren't worth his time unless they were making a killing off them. He didn't counter with a higher price to clear everything out or say something like, "If you buy X amount, we could give you a discount." Nothing. He just walked off. Don't say you make deals all the time if you have no intention of actually making a deal. Just say, "We're not accepting offers." What didn't make sense to me was why someone would rather donate the books instead of selling them and clearing them out. I already offer this service and also donate to various charities through my sales. It was apparent he didn't like negotiating, despite saying, "We make deals all the time." He just walked downstairs without saying something like, "Let me go ask the person who owns these books," or giving me any kind of update. A woman then came upstairs a couple of minutes later. She was either the homeowner, the owner of the books, or another staff member who had authority to negotiate, which didn't make sense since I thought Charles was the one I was dealing with. She was a little more reasonable when talking about prices. It's typically bad business practice to have the owner of the house/property being sold on the premises while the sale is going on. Many of the common books were exorbitantly overpriced, basically retirement pricing. It was obvious they weren't going to sell at $8 a pop for common books. I was basically doing them a favor by offering to buy everything. The way Charles went about negotiating and talking with me was really odd. I later went downstairs and could hear them upstairs discussing the deal I had worked out with the lady, if you could call it that. Charles said, "Yeah, we don't want to miss out on that $100," basically talking about how much they were going to make off me with their cut. The guy I interacted with, Charles Keaton, definitely needs to learn how to interact with customers and choose his words more carefully. He came across as tactless and unprofessional. I would never hire him or his company to handle an estate sale. Some estate sale companies seem to get the idea that just because they are selling someone else's possessions and putting price stickers on things, they can be condescending and unprofessional because the next person will just buy the items anyway. Charles, in particular, was by far the worst and most unprofessional person I've interacted with at an estate sale. I was also interested in buying some African wood art pieces in addition to the books, but Charles killed the deal over his pride. I've worked something out with several other estate sale companies, and it was always a win/win. First, know what you have, then go from there. Don't assume that just because there are a lot of common paperback and hardcover books, they're worth hundreds of dollars just because of whatever is written on the tacky little orange price labels stuck on every single spine. If they're leftover on the last day of the sale, they are most likely not worth anywhere near what you're asking, even at 50% off. And if you don't want to entertain offers, just say that and don't waste someone's time!

Losing a parent is hard enough, but being faced with the responsibility of sorting through a lifetime of memories, belongings, and decisions can feel unbearable. From the very first conversation, their team approached everything with compassion, patience, and genuine understanding. I never felt rushed, pressured, or treated like just another client--they truly understood the emotional weight behind every step. They took the time to explain the entire process clearly and honestly, answered every question I had (even when I asked the same ones more than once), and made sure I felt comfortable and informed throughout. Their communication was excellent, and I always knew what was happening and what to expect next. What stood out most was the respect they showed toward my mom's belongings and our family. Nothing was treated as "just stuff." Every item was handled thoughtfully and professionally, and they were extremely mindful of sentimental pieces. That level of care meant more to me than I can put into words. The organization and execution were flawless. They handled everything--sorting, staging, pricing, advertising, running the sale, and final clean-out. The home was transformed into a beautifully organized, easy-to-shop estate sale, and the results exceeded my expectations both financially and logistically. Their pricing strategy was fair, transparent, and clearly based on experience. I felt confident that my mom's estate was represented properly and respectfully, and the final outcome reflected that. What could have been one of the most stressful and emotionally draining experiences of my life was made manageable, structured, and even comforting because of this team. They didn't just provide a service--they provided support, guidance, and peace of mind when I needed it most. I am deeply grateful for My Estate to Liquidate and would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone facing the difficult task of handling a loved one's estate. They are professional, compassionate, and truly exceptional at what they do.

He was a merchandiser for gift shops so there was a lot of samples collected over the years that had piled up. It was a lot to handle. Doing the estate sale would have been easier (for us) before the sale of the home but in this case by the advice of the realtor it would show/sell better with furniture and it did, successfully. Estate sale came after house was sold, I interviewed several companies. Some people I spoke with about our situation said it was all the same but I'm here to tell you - it is not. My heart was so relieved that we had chosen the right people for our beloved friend's belongings. Thank you so much Sarah! X

It started out with a phone call by me to him to see if he could come by the property to decide if an estate sale was even feasible. Look, let's be real, when a parent is less than discerning about what they are randomly dumping at Goodwill and you have no say in what is being given away, when the time comes, you will wonder if what's left is all just a quick garage sale so you can move on to other pressing matters regarding that parent's life. Mark came and saw a lot of treasure (much to my surprise)! He quickly scheduled one month of toiling thru box after box, closet after closet, room after room and did an incredible amount of research on family items that were REALLY worth quite a bit. He scheduled THREE FULL weekends of estate sales, all perfectly executed, even thru some unexpected cold days. He's been doing this along time. He know his stuff and yours. But what's really special about him and his team is their listening skills. I was (and TMI, still am) extremely appreciative of the afternoons we spent combing thru the house talking about pieces and their history and his shoulder and ear to vent a bit (ok a lot) when the family drama was overwhelming. He's not fancy. But he's GOOOD. And I will take GOOOD over fancy anytime there's money involved. He'll tear down a house filled with tchotchke and spend his nights playing mental Tetris to get it all in the best possible order to make you the most money. AND HE WILL. Don't let some of those negative reviews work against him. Those are buyers who are put out because he cares about the number of people in one house at a time. I mean think about it.. how many people DO you want traipsing through your parent's house without supervision? He IS militant about the number of people shopping in a house at one time and that is important when you have valuables and or high break items. He is guarding your merchandise to make you money folks, don't get it twisted! Because of the number of items in the house, I think start to finish took a little less that two months. His clean up, collection and donation routine was really fast and complete. There were only a few pieces left that were decided early on would remain for house staging if not purchased. It was a a very good experience considering the circumstances that these contracts occur under. Mark and Javier and their team were nothing but friendly and professional and I will readily recommend them and their services to any friends who will need their services in the future.
