It's a great small hometown bar in Newark that's super friendly and fun to go to. I always come to this bar when I am in town visiting my fiancé's family or we are out and about doing things in Newark. The place always has good music to listen to, people to talk to, fun bartenders, and great drinks. The environment is relaxed and fun to hang out and chill. You can play pool with others while having a drink. Genuinely feel safe here at this bar, no creeps or anyone trying to hit on me. People are just here to have fun. If people try to cause problems or try to start fights then they get kicked out real fast. Also did I say there is plenty of seating for people to sit too to chill and drink. So you will have plenty of places inside and outside if you want to smoke and hang out and drink. Definitely suggest this bar hands down Every time! read more

This is a great blue collar townie bar. Everyone is welcoming of new people. The beers are inexpensive and they always have a couple of craft beers. I had a solid local Pumpkin ale there today. If you are hungry they have snacks foods and will cook you a frozen pizza. They also have pull tabs and a few pool tables. The place is always clean including the bathrooms. I was really hesitant to visit here. It looks like a shady dive from the outside mostly because of its dark windows. But inside, it's clean, bright, and friendly. We stopped in on Friday, which turned out to be karaoke night. Signage indicates that there are lots of other activities throughout the week, too. The tap list wasn't extensive, but with lagers, Coors, and some cider, you can find something on tap if you want. They also had mixed drinks and shots, which we'll try next time. Also, the food list is pretty decent, with sandwiches, savory snacks, and even a sweet option. Plus, it seems like outside food is welcome; a lot of folks were bringing in pizzas and other eats from nearby restaurants. Lastly, I was really struck by how clean and bright it was. I hate going to places with sticky floors, spooky dim corners, and infection-inevitable restrooms. This, thankfully, wasn't that. I went in the bar and bartender disrespected me and hugged a man I have been with for 25 years right in front of me. 26 years and I know he better not know her like that. There is a pandemic going on she shouldn't be hugging anyone anyway. I felt disrespected. She obviously don't know me very well. read more
