Our daughter has never been bitten or injured by another child, which is a huge relief! Also, our daughter loves the food because she comes home with a full stomach everyday. I like how they serve breakfast snack, lunch and dinner so it makes it easy on the parents. The kids are happy here and I would recommend Alameda Park Academy to all families, especially if you have a child reaching milestones early on who could benefit from being in a mixed class with older kids rather than just peers. The kids learn quicker with the mixed ages with language, rules, etc. and it gives a chance for the older kids without siblings to take care of the younger ones too (great socialization!).

They've been loving, structured, and attentive the entire time, and our daughter is growing up to be a confident, curious, and caring child. Angelina is an early childhood education major and has the energy to match the toddlers. She comes up with fun crafts and games, and several times a week, our daughter comes home with creative art they made together. Angelina is also a whizz at styling Sasha's hair. Mrs. Kim makes delicious hot Korean lunches from scratch. She ran a large kindergarten in Korea so she brings that expertise with her. She matches our style of parenting which is structured and caring, but not overly fussy. We like that Sasha can play on her own and is independent as a result. In the mornings when it's time to get ready for school, she is genuinely excited to go to day care and bounds up the steps. The ratio fluctuates between 2:7 and 1:6 since Angelina is not there full time. The constant is Mrs. Kim who genuinely seems like she loves children and knows what is best for them. Since it's a home day care her husband is also around to help out. He's a retired minister with a ready smile. They're a small team who are highly adaptable to the different needs of the children. We are raising our daughter to be bilingual and the Korean language exposure she gets at Eden is a large part of that. She is nearly two now and can understand as much Korean as she can English. Eden is also affordable, which can be a gamble when it comes to childcare. Sometimes a more affordable day care mean sacrificing the quality of care, and we didn't feel like that was the case. Our daughter is loved, cared for, and stimulated in the ways that encourage development. She took her first steps at day care (we got the video). We get regular photos and videos but not so many that I'm concerned that the caretakers are overly on their phones. The children have FUN. Water play on hot days. Dressing up for halloween and the holidays. Federal holidays are school closures but otherwise, we loved that they don't have long breaks where we'd be without childcare (as two working parents).

Either that person (who has only one review and lives in Canada) has mistaken this daycare for some other one, or it is a fake review.

We previously attended another childcare center prior to relocating, and the number of incidents we experienced here within the first three months exceeded what both of our children experienced over four years at our prior center combined. The worst was when our son was bitten by the same kid (3 years old) 5-6 times and had his face scratched and bloody and KC did nothing even though that child had 30+ other incidents in a span of 8 months! Total bullshit. Also, I don't recommend this place if your child has allergies. Several parents have pulled their children out after realizing they are horrible with tracking allergies since they always have new or part-time teachers so there's no consistency. Also, they feign ignorance when the child moves up to the next class at the same center and puts it on the parent to tell the new class teachers about the allergy. When they are short teachers, they've asked for volunteers to not bring their kids to school while charging full tuition or take the first 4 infants because they only have one teacher available. Most recently, 7 (!) teachers called in sick and the center had to close at 3pm. What a total nightmare for parents who have to go back into work! You certainly don't get what you pay for here (e.g. dilapidated yards, lawns, playground, equipment and dirty rugs - the photos on Yelp are not of the actual center). The one thing that we enjoyed was the app and the photos and videos everyday. But it was at the cost of premium tuition pricing, inconsistent teachers and injuries to our kids. Not worth it - there are plenty of other daycares, especially in-home ones that are much more affordable and smaller ratios that cater to the development of your child. My son did enjoy Ms. Shirrell in the discovery preschool classroom who potty trained him. He still mentions her from time to time. Ms. Lakea in the infant room was also a favorite. The lack of updates on the part time, temp, student or sub teachers (i.e. warm body they could find) and failure to retain good teachers is not because of COVID or the general shortage of educators - it's because this place and regional manager (Jen) sucks. Most of the good and long time teachers were chased out by a former director in 2021 (Jen's horrible hire) and most of the good families left shortly thereafter. Ms. Patti, the director, does what she can to turn water into wine, but one person can only do so much on their own with limited resources and help.

At first, I was able to stay with him at school so he could get comfortable with the new environment and teachers. Then, we gradually increased the time he spent there alone. Finally, once we all felt confident that he was happy and secure, he began napping at school as well. Now, my son loves school and attends full days three times a week. My son has been going here since he was 2 and he is in his last year before TK. The teachers are incredibly loving, while also able to guide discipline, which for me is incredibly important especially during the tough toddler ages. My son talks about what he learns from them all the time while he's not at school. From songs in Chinese, to counting and alphabet to the favorite books he's read and the crafts they do. Most important it is clear they give lessons about being kind to others and honoring himself. I know bc when I say things to guide him he tells me "tutu/lily says that too!" I understand many daycares just do play. This is not the case here. I am confident in his learning and brain development bc of these incredible teachers. And, I never have to pack a lunch or worry if he doesn't eat his breakfast or even has a late dinner bc they take such good care of his nutrition too with meals. He now understands both mandarin and Cantonese now and I believe he has such a strong base to enter school. I almost don't want to have him move on bc I know he is gaining so much here. The outdoor play area is huge -- with play cars, little houses, play kitchens, and lots of open space for the kids to run around and use their imaginations. Meals and snacks are healthy and home-cooked, which is such a plus. My kids always tell me about what they had for lunch and how yummy it was!
