I met Jason a few years ago when he worked at Wingate, Russotti, Shapiro & Halperin, LLP. He was assigned to my mother's personal injury case when her attorney of record changed; her case was almost in the settlement phase. My mom is elderly and does not speak English. I accompanied her to meetings with Jason. Aside from his photographic memory and mastery of the details of her case, I was struck by Jason's overwhelming patience and compassion. He is very personable, easy to talk to and has an uncanny ability to read people. He was always in tune with my mom's anxiety and would very quickly put her at ease. Because of her age, her testimony was at times complex. Jason's listening skills were invaluable to discern the facts from the limited information my mother could recall. The day of the hearing I witnessed Jason exhibit savvy and extremely good judgement. He had anticipated areas of weakness and was at the ready with his arguments. He was decisive and quick. He speaks clearly, persuasively, and concisely. When we left the hearing that day, I remember congratulating him and saying, "You my friend are going places. That was outstanding!"
It was therefore a no-brainer for me when years later I found myself needing a lawyer when my dad was seriously injured because of negligence in a NYC nursing home. I immediately thought of Jason. As I had predicted, due to his star-power, Jason now has his own law practice, Linden Law, LLC. I retained Jason for my dad's personal injury case and once again, he did not disappoint.
This time around there were hurdles and hurdles to overcome around guardianship law. Jason's superb analytical and research skills took over. His evaluative skills had him strategizing around the players and processes, distilling new and very large amounts of information extremely fast while continuing to move the case forward.
I feel that to Jason my dad is not a personal injury case. He sees my dad as a person and genuinely cares about how the decisions he makes affect my father's life and well-being. To this end, Jason showed courageous leadership and made hard decisions - like replacing lawyers on the case - when he needed to. All in the spirit of protecting me and my father's interests - not monetary ones that would have inevitably benefitted him directly.
In trying to settle my dad's case, we encountered numerous obstacles from specific judges no longer overseeing my dad's guardianship case to lawyers trying to insert themselves just for profit. Jason identified this and inserted himself directly into the guardianship process even though this is not his area of expertise. As a result of working with heart, Jason now found himself with extra work that was not anticipated. He made sure to guide me every step of the way ensuring that my parts were completed correctly while figuring out the issues and representing me in guardianship court as well. Noticing all this extra work I was concerned for Jason and offered to pay him. He would not have it! Ultimately, he figured out every obstacle within the guardianship court himself.
Once the guardianship issues were resolved, thanks to Jason, without other lawyers taking advantage of my family, I witnessed Jason's mastery once again. The day of the hearing, opponents began with an insignificant offer and by the end of the day, Jason reached a settlement that was fair by all accounts.
Jason's perseverance and commitment to my dad's case, along with his humanity, compassion, empathy, creativity, intelligence, patience, drive, and superb problem-solving skills make him in my opinion, an outstanding lawyer.
