I had been seeing this massage therapist for over a year. Ten days ago, during my first session after my birthday, I fell asleep and woke up to find him touching my vagina. When I reacted, he said it was a "birthday gift." It was non-consensual and has deeply affected me. I haven't been able to eat or sleep since. Because it happened while I was asleep, I now struggle to even close my eyes. I'm in therapy trying to heal, but I feel like the happiness inside me has been taken away. I have reported this to the police. I'm sharing this because no one should ever experience something like this. Please be careful. read more

I've already left a review on Google but based on the owner's response, I feel the need to warn other's about this business. I've been seeing a chiropractor for 22 years and this was by far the worst experience I've had - really poor bed side manner. This is primarily rehab and to be honest, it's partly my fault. I didn't do enough research. If you are looking for rehab and don't mind dealing with someone with terrible interpersonal skills, then this is your place. His recommendation for my scoliosis? Do breathing exercises! I highly doubt breathing exercises are going to fix the structural curvature in my spine. Telling someone with scoliosis to breathe and it will be fixed is dangerous. He needs to be a physical therapist only and stop parading around as a chiropractor. read more

Let me begin by saying that this is my second review for Dr. Meeting - that is how much I believe that anyone in the area should go see him. My most recent visit was SO AMAZING that I cannot say enough about Dr. Meeting!!! A week ago, I strained my groin/hip flexor while playing in an inflatable jump house with my children. I thought it would go away after a week...However, after a week the strain became unbearable in pain. I was literally hobbling everywhere I went and random strangers would ask me if I was ok (thats when you know its BAD)... I thought I had hernia, so I first went to Urgent Care (my primary physician could not see me till next week?!?!?!) Urgent Care was a WASTE of time and money. First of all the doctor there just talked to me for less than 10 min...Then he basically told me to take ibuprofen and hope it gets better... I immediately made an appointment with Dr. Meeting the same day. When I got to his office, I was still hobbling (hunched over and in pain with each step) and the receptionist was concerned just looking at me. Dr. Meeting took an HOUR with me to stretch me out and find out what the real issue was. By the end of my session, I could walk upright with very little pain. I was shown some great stretching exercises and now I am back at work feeling well!!! Dr. Meeting did an AMAZING job!!! I came to his office hobbling in and left walking upright with little pain! Dr Joe is fantastic! He is courteous and professional through and through. He takes the time to listen to what your problems are and then takes the appropriate action to resolve the problem. He has treated me for back pain, foot pain and sinus issues...and I always feel so much better after seeing him. His patients are his #1 priority. Want to get hit with hidden charges and over-billing? Go to Dr. Meeting! Only $260 for your first visit! I went to Dr. Meeting for pain in my neck and shoulder. And he is a pretty good chiropractor. But that does not make up for hidden charges. When I was booking the appointment, I asked their front desk/billing how much the visit would cost and they gave me a rough estimate of $100-$200. I asked Dr. Meeting at the beginning of the appointment how much it would cost and he said he did not know and that it was "not his department". Then they stuck me with a $260 bill! The bill included additional charges for "therapeutic exercises" and "neuromuscular reeducation" which they did not tell me I would be charged for. I went to Dr. Meeting for chiropractic adjustment and did not want to pay for any other services. When electro-stimulation was offered, I said "as long as it is included and doesn't cost anything additional", to which I was told there was no additional charge for it. After the chiropractic adjustment, which was good, Dr. Meeting said he was hoping to show me some exercises but I just seemed interested in the chiropractic adjustment. So, I said he could show me the exercises if he wanted to. Dr. Meeting showed me one exercise, which was helpful. At no point was I told there would be any additional charges beyond the chiropractic adjustment and office visit despite my repeated attempts to ask how much the visit would cost. If Dr. Meeting had told me before showing me the exercises that they would cost extra, I would have said that I do not want anything that is not included with the cost of the chiropractic adjustment. I attempted to make this clear when I asked if the electro-stimulation was included in the cost of the adjustment, which it was. Because Dr. Meeting's reply was basically 'of course it is included' about the electro-stimulation, I was shocked to find out that I was being charged more for the one exercise that I was shown. Again, I was not told there would be any additional charges for that one exercise. I called their office about these extra charges and was held on the phone for over an hour by the admin/billing person trying to convince me that the charges were legitimate and telling me that I was not listening. After an hour of this, I interrupted and asked that my message be passed on to Dr. Meeting. After two weeks I found out that they would remove the charges for "neuromuscular reeducation" (whatever that is), but they would not remove the charges for "therapeutic exercises". So even after I told them that I was not told I would be charged extra for exercises, they had no problem hitting me with those hidden charges and over-billing me. So what was my final bill, after all of that? $228.40. Lesson? Avoid Dr. Meeting. And avoid any place that will not tell you what they charge up front. Any medical service provider has the ability to call your insurance and then tell you what they will charge, and any place that will not - that is a red flag. Another red flag was that they ask for credit card information before seeing you; that was also very unusual. I find it suspicious that they billed me for just enough to get me close to my deductible, and I got the impression that the billing person was doing that to make future visits cheap for me (but expensive for my insurance company). She actually said when I booked the appointment that I "should try to reach my deductible as soon as possible", and I said I did not want to do that. Of course, I have no way of knowing what their motivations were. Most chiropractic I have received from other doctors was closer to $65-$80, not $230, and any exercises were always bundled with the cost of the visit. I have heard of therapies done with machines or x-rays costing additional, but never exercises. Unless you do not care at all how much they charge you, I suggest you find a different chiropractor. read more

As the other reviewers say, Dr. Joe is a true professional and really knows his stuff. He is also incredibly personable and genuinely gets to know his patients. Dr. Joe will sit down with you and use a model to really explain where your pain is coming from. He'll get down on hands and knees to demonstrate stretches that will help you heal properly. Oh, and if you can't remember the time of your appointment, you can send him a text message and he'll text you back. Also, I've never had a doctor spend as much time with me as Dr. Joe does. I would fully recommend him to anyone! If you're in a rush to be seen, Dr. Joe will do his best to accommodate you. I originally called Dr. Joe on a Saturday morning after I threw my back out, and he was able to see me the same day! He also will do early evening appointments, great for working folks with limited flexibility in their schedules (like me). Dr. Joe seems to work a TON and I really respect him for putting so much work into starting his own practice. I hope that sometime down the road, he'll be able to take some well-earned vacation time! read more

Dr. Joe is heads and shoulders above the last chiropractor I saw. During the checkup, I felt completely at ease; it was almost as if I was just hanging out with a good friend. Such a amicable personality can not be taught in school, which is a shame because I feel like a lot of people in the medical profession could learn from this guy. I've been going to Dr. Meeting for a few years now and he's so knowledgeable about not only what he does but also related to nutrition and what you should be eating. I've gone for neck pain, shoulder pain, my wrist, back pain, etc. I play a lot of sports and once and awhile not only you need a massage but also an adjustment. Dr. Meeting has been treating me for several years and I was excited when he opened his practice in Lincoln Square. His has an excellent consultative style and keeps himself aware of the latest techniques and therapies. He interacts with you on a friendly basis but is authoritative while being open to discussing new/alternative ideas - it's refreshing to find someone like him in the medical field. I initially sought him out for ART (Active Release Technique) to treat some nagging injuries from years of athletic abuse. From there, it was natural to transition into working with his massage therapists, I initially started with the deep tissue therapist and have also found great benefit working with his thai massage therapist as well. I've also benefited greatly from his diet and supplementation advice - he offers a truly holistic experience. Dr. Joe is the best! He worked with me on a chronic back/shoulder issue over the course of several months. He always spent enough time with me to understand what my current state was in order to perform the right adjustments, plus he would to teach me stretches and exercises that helped to heal me. I have complex issues and went here for an assessment. They determined they couldn't help me, and wouldn't take my case. I since had PT elsewhere and have had great results. Based on my own actual experience being in great contrast to these other "reviews", which are all 5-star, it makes me rather suspicious about how "genuine" they are. I went to Lincoln Square Chiropractic and physical therapy with a number of issues including severe back, neck, and knee pain due to running and my job. I love Dr Meeting's whole approach. He addresses nutrition and explains things in depth so you really have an understanding of how the body works. I've been consistently doing the exercises/stretches Dr Bob gave me and have seen their amazing massage therapist. After going to them only 3 times I can not believe the amount of relief I have. After years of training Jiujitsu I had my first significant injury.....or so I thought. These guys are very personable, genuine, and really care about getting results for their clients. Doctors and Staff are like family. I was actually sad to 'graduate' from PT. Let me start off by saying I don't typically write reviews. I typically don't read them either. My husband works in sales and he has turned me on to the importance of writing a good review. Oftentimes we only hear the negative, but it's just as important to share the positive. I came upon LSCPT after breaking my ankle in January of 2014. I simply googled 'physical therapy near me' and they popped right up alongside other well-known businesses. I believe in supporting small locally owned businesses and called them up. Right away I was greeted by their friendly and knowledgable office manager, whom knew right away that they accepted my insurance. My first meeting was with Dr. Jenn Meeting; she was so down-to-earth and made me feel comfortable right away. I eventually got to know Dr. Joe Meeting as well as the massage therapist at the office. I looked forward to my visits because they were always informative and seemed truly tailored to my specific needs. I learned great techniques on how to minimize scarring from my surgery as well as exercises and stretches that would benefit not only my ankle but planter fasciitis that I had previously been diagnosed with. Their office manager worked with my insurance as well as with me and my limited budget. After several months of PT and massage therapy I eventually 'graduated' and felt great. About a year after my first visit I had obtained a part-time job as a hostess in addition to my full-time teaching position. I was working 7-days a week and on my feet most of the day. My ankle had begun to become swollen again and I was in a lot of pain. I knew this wasn't how I was supposed to be feeling day-in and day-out. I decided to reach out to Lincoln Square Chiropractic and Physical Therapy again. When I called, Dr. Joe Meeting answered the phone and remembered me right away! He told me to come in and to not worry, I would be taken care of. After finishing this 2nd round of PT, Chiropractic, and Massage Therapy I honestly feel like my life has changed. I am PAIN FREE for the first time EVER! My posture, strength,and flexibility have all improved. Most importantly I felt encouraged to not only return to my pre-ankle-break ability but to improve and exceed my health and fitness expectations.
