This comment pertains to the latter but should be considered to possibly reflect the Hospice service. HH is operated by staff that are essentially incompetent in many topics of health care and maintenance. They listen poorly and understand less. It is pitiful when you go the extra mile to explain and they misconstrue and become defensive. PCP providers essentially phone it in, visit reports filings for some take a month, and requests are garbled. I had 2 PCPs. Both were nurses. The first moved on, I complained to the point where I no longer would see him. Both appeared to be phoning it in on a regular basis without accomplishing tasks for the actual benefit of the patient. Both used cut and paste paste histories with out addressing current and neglected pressing issues. The positive factor was one Wound Care Nurse who treated me at another agency, but quit that for Symbii. He was competent and diligent but quit seeing me for inadequate reasons. He was good, but the house is on fire. You should get the point. Avoid Symbii, if using Symbii, check patient progress and possible negligence.

If a aid wasn't coming in to "work" they would NEVER CALL to let me know they were NOT coming. And if the aid did show they couldn't stay off their phones long enough to do anything. When I tried canceling this company and go to another they made it sound like I was making a wrong choice and I would be sorry if I left this company. They play mind games and there is NO COMMUNICATION in the office. And the owner and Sr employees have something fishy going on. Something is NOT all professional if you ask me. I heard them say on many many occasions that it was ok to remove a aid from my services because I didn't really need them I just wanted them to do everything for me. WHEN I FINALLY CANCELED SERVICES WITH THIS COMPANY THEY WERRE SUPPOST TO FINISH OUT THE MONTH. BUT INSTEAD LEFT ME HIGH AND DRY WITH A WEEK LEFT IN THE MONTH WITH NO SERVICES. Avalon was referred to me. The orders were sent to Avalon at 10:00 am. When I called at 10:30 am…read moreto discuss the order, I was told someone would call me back in an hour. After an hour and a half, I called back, got the answering service, was told they left for lunch at 11:30 am and I could call back at 12:30 pm. I called at 12:30 and they had not returned. Called every half hour from 12:30 to 2:30 and was only able to reach the answering service. At one point, she even tried to reach someone and was not able to get anyone to answer the phone. Finally reached someone at 2:30 and they had not worked on my order at all and then found out they did not have a contract with the VA as they had stated. Took the day off of work to bring my dad home. This wasted four hours that I could have had someone actually working on the issue and ultimately delayed me getting my father home for another week. This is in addition to wasting the time of other people from other organizations who were actively trying to accomplish getting my dad home this day. Turned out they are contracted with the VA in Boise but not Salt Lake. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I would be very afraid of not being able to get help when needed if they won't answer their phones for three hours at a time.
