After being an employee here for over a year, I have to say there are a lot more cons then pros…read more First off, I will start with the pros. It is a very rewarding job getting to work closely with the individuals with mental and physical disabilities. I have not really had a problem with any of the idividuals. Now for the big list of cons. First off. You do not have set hours. That is the number 1 complaint here. "Master Schedules" are always made, but never followed. The next con is jumping from house to house just as soon as you get comfortable and working good in one. You do not do as well in a house you don't know than one you do. Now for the biggest con of all. The higher ups do not listen to you. Yea, they may have "meetings" with you, but they do not follow up with it. For example, I asked not to be put on day shift. We had a meeting about it and they told me they wouldn't. Guess what, I am on day shift all this week! Don't you just love how people listen? Every single employee has had a problem with this matter as well. Hopefully they can get things in gear otherwise, I don't think Gateway is long for this world.
