Oh Jack's, you really have not aged in the slightest. You'r chips are still greasy, your fish…read morecrispy and your tables plastic with chairs attached to them. Some might find this terrifying, I on the other hand love it. Strangely enough I was actually taken here on a date. Yup! I'm a classy bird. It brought back memories flooding through my mind of Wimpy meals and greasy spoon diners you stumble across at service stations. The difference is that Jack's actually serves some damn good fish and chips. Some of the best in the area actually. A friend was actually telling me of how Jack's sponsored his brothers little footie team as a kid, Jack really is part of the community. Oh and they serve wonderful mushy peas!

I was spoilt for choice when attempting a quick lunch along Camberley High Street. I'm a sucker for…read morehot steaming pork, and Harringtons off-the-bone for batons and rolls was a real invite. My baton was well-filled for £2.40, accompanied by a spoonful of sage and onion stuffing. Unfortunately the stuffing was soggy, probably never getting anywhere near an oven, and the baton was heated to over-crisp. However, for £2.40 it wasn't all that bad. A large cafe latte (£2.40) was a little too weak, a common problem with latte, and was Lavazza which I find a little over-robusta. Harringtons has seating for only six people, and is rather uncomfortable. The service was polite enough but rather severe perhaps the server was having a bad day. Camberley High Street has two or three other apparently up-market lunch outlets, but it was the pork spotted from the street that clinched it. However, it didn't impress me enough to be my next-time first choice. I shall try the other options when I'm next down Camberley way.
