Did dinner here at the recommendation of my hotel, which is under the same ownership so.....yeah, know that up front. Then did breakfast here bc the hotel doesn't do breakfast (of course) and it looked like the only place in town to get eggs. The lobster roll for dinner was ok. Not served warm and seemed to have substituted mayo for butter. Breakfast was breakfast, hard to screw up toast. It's the service that's the root of the poor rating. No one was a jerk but they appeared to have *zero* interest. I sat two booths from the manager who was doing morning accounting I guess, and who was next to the waiter station. I finally rose my voice and asked who wants to take my order. I've never gotten such a stare from a manager and finally the one kid waiter volunteered, albeit reluctantly. Maybe it's just Canada. Lovely and friendly lunch spot. We went two days in a row. Especially loved the seafood chowder!

A great place to spend a rainy afternoon. The Calamari was among the best I ever had. The service was great and the waitstaff very friendly. We had fish and chips and the fried fish basket and the chocolate cake and bakedapes parfait for dessert. We enjoyed our time and we're not at all rushed. Highly recommend!!! read more

Location, location, location and great food to boot! The Fish chowder is superior. We split both the chowder and mussels. I had the poached Cod, I never had it poached before and it was delicious. Nancy had the poached Halibut and again delicious and cooked to perfection. For dessert chose the partridge berry cheesecake, yummy. Delicious food! Best so far in Newfoundland. Great views of the ocean all around, icebergs and whales pass by as you eat! Try the Iceberg beer, brewed in St. John's with real iceberg water. I can heartily recommend you keep driving until you find this lovely restaurant on a point over the harbor. The inside is as charming as the view. The menu is pretty inventive for Newfoundland, and yet not too large. We had snow crab, which took a long time to eat, and so gave us extra time to enjoy the customers, and the steady stream of cars that came up for the view of the harbor, and the iceburg. read more

Great Views! We were able to see icebergs from the restaurant with a scenic view of the rocky coast and harbor. The restaurant is very well located near some excellent walking and hiking trails. The local basics were well done - Cod and scuncheons and local cold water shrimp. I would recommend staying with these - 4 Stars. Other menu choices we tried - 2 Stars. IMHO the food was overpriced, but fair value if you stayed with the local basics and for the scenery. read more

Good food and service made us come back again on our second night in St Anthony. My only complaint is that we were told we couldn't have the table for 4 by the window (being a party of only 2) and were seated by the door in the upper area. However, while we were dining another party of 2 came in and a different server gave them the table by the window so I felt cheated. read more

My wife and I had a very enjoyable dinner this evening. We started with the Thai Moose Spring rolls which were delicious (they have a crispy exterior). My wife followed that up with the snow crab legs and a spinach salad, both she advised were delicious. I had the Halibut (poached) with steamed vegetables (carrots and beans) and home style baked beans. The halibut was cooked perfectly with nice, large flakes of halibut. The vegetables and home cooked beans were delicious. We finished up with a tasty bakeapple cheesecake. Overall, the service was good, the food tasty and we were lucky enough to see a couple of whales out in the waters off the point (the restaurant is out on an eastern point right beside a lighthouse). We would eat there again next time we are back in St.Anthony. read more

Great location overlooking the bay. We were fortunate to be there during iceberg season and were able to see the icebergs just offshore. Some of the best seafood we ate while on the island. The crabs legs had that light flaky meat and were delicious. A great meal from appetizers such as moose spring rolls, caesar salad as well as the wonderful desserts. Next time we are in the area we will definitely dine here. read more
