Dr. Phil did a great job piercing my 8 year old daughters ears! It really did feel like a Dr's office, but I think that's a good thing, since you're modifying your body and putting holes in it, you want the clean feel of a Dr's office. Phil said he will pierce ears kids 7 and over. It's not the plastic gun like they use in the mall, so it's not as fast. In the time time it took for our piercing, a girl in the tattoo studio had a tattoo put on faster than our piercing session. Went here because I was sure they would have stainless steel or titanium since my daughter reacts to alloys. The restroom has playboy type pictures in it, so my daughter got to see those for the first time. No big deal, but might be a big deal for some parents. read more

Phil is amazing! He's done 5 of my piercings and I'd only ever see him. He's super precise and spent 10 minutes lining up my new cartilage piercing with an old one to make them even. I happened upon this place when I was visiting a friend. I met Phil and allowed him to redo my PA which not an area I would trust to simply anyone. He was highly professsional, made me feel comforatble in a highly uncomfortable situation and great at maintaniing contact after the proceedure. Phil has got to be one of the most solid piercers I've ever met. First off, when I walked in I didn't get that weird vibe you sometimes get when you walk into a tattoo or piercing parlor, like the people in there think they are better than you... I felt relaxed as soon as I stepped in the shop. I went in to get two nose piercings and have some jewelry switched out and Phil spent an hour and a half with me which I really appreciate. He didn't try to get me in the door then out as quick as possible, he took the time to answer all of my silly questions, find the perfect placement for my piercings and made sure I was happy. Now for the best part, I have never stepped in to a more sterile environment. Phil takes his time to make sure everything is as clean as possible, disinfected and safe. I applaud him for that! He spent almost two hours working his magic and the result is a piece that looks like it was intended all along. Then we practically had to hold him down and force him to take any money. This place is legitimately the best! I've gotten two pieces done by Peter here, and the entire process was easy, comfortable, and ended with me leaving with amazing art. The second you walk in the door, no matter how busy the guys may be, they all greet you right away and make you feel welcome and at ease. No intimidation like you get at other shops, these dudes really want you to be happy with your experience. The shop is impeccably clean, and each artist has a unique style so that everyone who comes in can have their vision realized. I cannot recommend Peter enough; super easy to talk to, funny as hell, listened to exactly what I wanted and gave me advice for what would look best on my body. Both pieces I've had done by him are his original drawings, and he made them unique for me so I dont have to worry about someone else out there having the same ink as me. And while I havent had work done by Danny or Drew, they are always super nice and all of their customers also leave with kick ass tattoos when I'm there. Phil was very gentle and informative. However, the after care was not helpful. He was very communicative and answered all of my questions, but almost 3 months later, I was still having issues. Went to another shop and they said my jewelry was "bad" and once they changed it and gave me different after care instructions - within 48 hours my piercing improved. Maybe it is just my body or bad jewelry? IDK, just thought I would share my experience here. read more

Let me start by saying I've never had a tattoo in my life. So when my fiancé decided to get a coverup piece done I had no idea what to expect. I've known a guy who works at lighthouse who came highly recommended. Having ideas in my head as to what a tattoo shop would be like, l was immediately met with a clean facility with a friendly staff who was welcoming from the moment we walked in the door. The environment was friendly and fun the entire time. Now about the artist who did the work. I've known Lil Chris for a little while, mostly through friends. He's always seemed like a pretty easy going guy who was fun to hang out with. I've also had a number of friends who've used him in the past so I've seen his work before, and had always thought he did clean work. From the moment we walked in the door he was all business. He welcomed us with some designs he had been working on and after ten minutes the dreaded words were said. "You're just going to have to trust me!" He said it with a confidence that made it easy for her to plop down in the chair and the show began. Not only was he prepared he had a vision in his head from the moment he began. His work was clean and Heather seemed as comfortable as one can be while being stabbed in the neck 1000 times a minute. Watching his idea come together as he not only worked but gave me a play by play dissertation of exactly what he was doing. It was fascinating to me to watch him work. He was incredibly patient to work away with some goofy guy staring over his shoulder the whole time. To call him an artist almost seems like I'm selling his talents short. The finished product is out of this world. Heather couldn't be happier and that of course makes me happy. I can't believe the detail and depth of the piece if I hadn't watched it come together it would have been hard to believe. If ever you find yourself on the fence about getting a tattoo, looking for a coverup or looking for some additional work, you couldn't do any better than Lil Chris and the guys at Lighthouse tattoo.
