The Lighthouse is NOT a BAR. It is a Clubhouse created for the benefit of the mentally ill. Many clubhouses exist throughout the United States giving help to those who need it. This being said, it needs a great deal of improvement. I suffer from depression and anxiety and attended for a short period of time, and what I found frustrating was that except for one day a week and the cooking group, the club seemed to do nothing but maintain itself. I spent much of my time behind the computer doing data entry, which is fine, but except for calling people once a month and asking if they felt like visiting again, there didn't seem to be much reason for it. There were no actual activities other than the Tuesday outings, so I suppose it's more of a committee than a club. read more
