It's close to several restaurants. No details were missed and we had a good amount of area for a large group to meet with speakers at the front, and superset spill over rooms and eating rooms. The staff was easy to work with, and professional. We had good sound quality, great video for presentations and they worked with us to record our conference and to broadcast and record it using zoom. The place is clean, and they were able to make adjustments to soaps, cleaning supplies, etc so that our members with scent sensitivities were better able to cope. The food service was very good and well managed. We were able to work with catering to help our members with food allergies, and celiac disease. The setting is professional and conducive to having multiple vendors onsite. They helped us to make our conference a great success. 5 stars! Highly recommended!

It may seem quaint now, but at the time, the very concept of Sheridan opening a school in Mississauga was treated as a running joke - something that had been discussed for more than 25 years at that point. The organizers played a video with Sheridan grad/noted Canadian comedian Patrick McKenna (The Red Green Show) somewhat mockingly - and almost in a pleading tone of voice - asking for City Council to approve their plans and get the funding needed to open a third branch because of skyrocketing enrollment and more post-secondary options in the region. Well, here we are in the current day and that prophecy finally came true. It was worth the wait. I've now had the opportunity to visit this site three times over the last six months and have been suitably impressed by the overall design and aesthetic, and that's coming from someone who made his bones at the Trafalgar Campus. Rest assured: this is a beautiful site that fits well in the City Centre, almost to the point of stealing the thunder from City Hall and Square One across the street. I most recently attended a funding announcement here at the campus, and was surprised by the premium the builders placed on beauty over functionality. You can barely walk through the place without running smackdab into a giant blue "S" emblazoned proudly over a window looking out, and the materials they've used here are leagues beyond either Davis or Trafalgar. Sprawling atriums, long straightaways and glass monoliths seem to be the norm here. There are also a couple of interesting exhibits I found myself stopping to stare at, including a men's fashion space near one of the cafeterias. This being the City Centre, there are of course multiple cafes within the campus - God forbid anyone should be bothered to walk across the street and go to any of the myriad options for coffee within a one-block radius, including multiple Starbucks, Second Cup and Panera locations. Even then, the Starbucks within this site doesn't seem to have nearly the amount of selection or service that its sister location shares within the mall. As this is Yelp and food should be involved, the pictures I've posted should also be proof enough. The organizers brought in a selection of donuts and food spreads which I suspect were made in-house. This is a space that I'm excited to revisit, because it offers a lot (from an educational and design standpoint) to the community, and I'm interested to see how funding for the (as of this writing) newly-announced STEM innovation lab will affect the school's popularity. Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie said during the announcement that she wanted to make this campus a lynchpin of the Region's "innovation corridor", and I have no reason to doubt her on this point. If you're in the area, this site is well worth a walk through - it's a compelling sight in the city's centre sprawl.

I have taken classes on both campuses, and while St. George is a gathering for prepsters and nerds, Scarborough is home to tiny Asian hall dancers and the young. I mean really young. I'm certain I am pretty much a dinosaur in comparison to these kids. I say kids because they are so loud, and dressed in something I'm sure could be found on the closet floor of my 16 year old mother. I've realized two things about attending university at this campus in this city. One I highly enjoy the anonymity of the large on line classroom. Scarborough offers several of their highest grossing classes as on line available. Meaning that one can watch the lectures anytime, and that you need not be subjected to the aforementioned youth and all the irritants that surround them. It also means that the procrastinator inside can be fulfilled and I can still ace all my courses. Number two, I can try to fit in here, but I'm white, and old comparatively speaking. So I'm fashionable as an almost cougar and someone you think you can ask directions from. In fact I'm certain my prof yesterday was markedly younger than me. Oh well, thank goodness I'm mostly over trying to be cool:). As far as amenities go, the gym facilities are pretty shoddy though they will be redoing them shortly. Food options are few and have pretty poor hours, but there are two Timmy's, one open late. Highlight of my most recent trip to Scarberia, the ghetto Asian dance troupe practise taking place in the hallway near floor length windows. I say ghetto, because that is what they call themselves, because in all honesty they are sporting more brand names than a Macy's superstore. Bottom line...don't transfer here, this is a full fledged business and they deny deny deny all the credits they can. As business and psychology faculties go though they are top rated.

On my first night of class I was more than an hour late because I couldn't find this g-d building and let's just say I now know all the GB buildings in this area very well! While this building is still newish, the computers are already more dated and some of the desks have been drawn all over by the 'art' students. Even though it's an old factory-warehouse style building, the interior is just a network of hallways like a rat maze. Not looking forward to discovering the washrooms.

They made the open house very exciting! It was our favourite part! Love that parking is readily available around. Loved the many activities they had planned: colouring, face paint, sonshine and broccoli concert, popcorn, cake pop, and a play room for toddlers. We were disappointed to feel a little brushed off though - starting with the introduction into the room, we weren't given a spiel like others were. Felt great through the concert! But next we did the cake pop, and there was a line. We waited in line. The person making ours, started to roll it, but it wouldn't form together, so she left it on a plate and started making the next one, which she promised would be ours. We thought the next one will be for our kid, but she started asking the next kid what that kid would like on their cake pop. So we got skipped. I told the other employee and thankfully that one made it for us. Kid was still happy. Next we waited for face paint, with Ms Em in line. We waited a long time for a few kids in front of us to get their face painted, and when we were up next, one woman brought her maybe grandkid in and pushed her grandkid in front of us, saying they were in line but left the line to see other things (we never saw her in line the whole time we were in line). So she got her grandkid in as her English wasn't great to communicate but what disappointed us was that the employees didn't do anything about this and made us wait another 10-15 minutes for another face paint and hand paint for this kid. That really hurt that the employees would try to skip us while we waited so long for things and really ruined our morning. Because of the three disappointments, I don't recommend this art studio, I would rather recommend CCSA in leaside for the same activities but better care about to future and present clients. The lady in the drawing room was kind and there were lots of nice paintings and art work done there. Gave was enthusiastic and happy, great person there! He gave us popcorn and it was great! And of course, we loved sonshine and broccoli! We still tried to enjoy the rest of the day and relax from the stress of this.

I have no idea about the quality of the education provided within the walls of this art…read moreinstitution. However, if Will Alsop's brilliant design for this gravity-defying skybound rectangle on pencils inspires its students as much as it moves folks like me who pass by, then OCAD is probably turning out geniuses. My rating is for the quality of EDUCATION offered at OCAD. The average rating discussed overall for…read morethis school is highly elevated by what seems to be a fascination for its ARCHITECTURE, which should not even be a consideration. The original OCA had a well deserved reputation as a art school before 1970, when students actually gained valuable skills and professors believed they should pay attention to their students and offer real training. Sadly at that time, the traditional concept was abandoned in favour of embracing a "free school" format. Teachers, except for a very few, just stopped teaching and became "advisors." If students asked for more, they were told they wanted to be spoon-fed. But this is NOT a graduate school - the students coming into first year do need instruction. There is a serious disconnect that ultimately short-changes the young people who enrol, believing the somehow sustained reputation that the school boasts but does not support.
