The folks coordinating admissions we always quick to reply to any questions I had prior to the course and were available throughout the course to land a hand. The space is clean and organized and very bright; a perfect work environment regardless of the time of day. As for the course itself, I was going in as a complete beginner. I can honestly say that this course taught me so much and has prepared me for the Bootcamp and beyond. I'll be leaving this course with enough knowledge to feel very confident in my skills. The instructors and mentors were unbelievably helpful and knowledgeable. Despite the amount of information I learned, they were patient and made sure we were all confident before moving on. I can (and happily have) recommended this course to others.

I took the Part-Time Web Dev Summer 2017 course and am now enrolled in the Full Time. I took the PT…read morecourse, to figure out whether or not coding was really something I could do and to get a more serious taste of what I would be doing if I pursued this as a career. To put things in perspective, my background was in Tech sales, with no other prior coding/programming knowledge or experience. I started considered Web Dev as a career change because it was a way to become my own boss and escape the 9-5 rat race. Skills wise, I knew that I had a strong interest in technology and I wanted to work with something that would allow me to flex my brain muscles, problem solve and create something. The part-time course is intense, if you're not truly interested or committed it will be easy to fall behind. The first few weeks were the most challenging as I struggled to make all the pieces fit together in a way that I could comprehend. It is not unlike learning a new language, at first it's really difficult and overwhelming and then one day, poof! It starts to make sense and you're like, hooray! I'm a developer!! Until you realize you're SO NOT a developer yet, 5 minutes later. That said, I found the instructors and mentors to be knowledgable, approachable and really invested in helping you learn. I found that coding really requires you to have a tenacious sense of problem-solving, you're going to spend a LOT of time staring at your screen, hands up in the air, screaming 'WHY?! WHY YOU NO WORK?!" (I did this. a LOT.) This is important because while the mentors and instructors are there as resources, they are not (and should not) be spoon-feeding you the material. If you're not willing to really dig in and do the work, this is not for you. Personally, I feel that I am prepared for the Full-Time course but will definitely be putting in extra work to get more familiar with some concepts and details that I missed when I was away. The PT is great at giving you basic and broad knowledge of key concepts but is by no means a comprehensive course that will spit you out as a hire-ready developer-- that's what the FT is for! If you're considering it, take the plunge and go for it! This course is quality quality quality, and worth every penny.

Amazing place for a beginner to learn basics about coding/programming…read more The place is very modern and looks like a great start up. There's many different classes offered here and a lot of the part time ones are free! I took computer science in grade 11 and that was hella rough so if that's you - I definitely recommend this place. I came here tonight to take the HTML & CSS class; I found that the class was easy to follow along and I definitely learned a lot in this 1.5hr class. Rocco was the instructor and he was great at teaching the course, he went step by step and repeated each one many times so everybody could understand. As a technical recruiter, I took this course to kind of get a better understanding of some of the front end positions I recruit for. What's funny is I used to code neopets' pages for people when I I was 12. HAHAHA, I know, I can't believe it either. Anyway, it was a great flashback and at the end of the lesson, you are able to create your own responsive web page. It's super cool, and you can also customize it. They also offer full time and part time courses on javascript, fullstack web development, front/back end development, UX/UI designing and digital marketing. It can get pricey but if you're trying to fast-track some technical knowledge, this is the spot for you. Hot place to be and you definitely don't need to be a 'computer nerd' to enjoy it!
