More importantly, very few who are as tolerant, inclusive, and focused on raising children to honor peace and civility and to appreciate the natural world around them. Montessori is not daycare. It is not even your traditional school. Children at Walnut Farm are empowered to do things for themselves, and to study that which interests them most. In addition to several well appointed Montessori classrooms they also have a few unique features such as an outdoor classroom where children are learning life skills including gardening and caring for animals. The school also has a natural playground with features literally carved from the forested hillside. I see my little boy growing into a confident, warm, caring, and intelligent young man at Walnut Farm. He loves to read and do math. He is fascinated by and in love with every kind of animal. He loves his teachers and his classmates. When kids reach school age, we rely on the school to mold them into the people we want them to be. Schools have the kids from 8 to 3 most days, leaving just 4 or 5 hours with their parents. If they are going to play that big a role in the development of my child... then I feel strongly about choosing a school that not only does a good job educating my child, but also teaches him to grow up tolerant of the many differences in people around the world. They take children from toddlers through around the equivalent of 6th grade.

They love being dropped off and I love that I get updates all day on their routines and learning via the ap. The transparency is wonderful for peace of mind. My children are learning so much and thriving. They are loved on and cared for and happy! I would (and do) recommend this school to anyone looking. So far I like that the kids can come at any time on any or all of the five days that it is open and can get one-on-one help with tutors for the entire 1 hour session if they want it. I also like that at the end of each session a progress report for each kid is provided to the parent which tells what the kids worked on, what they have accomplished and what they need to work on. The kids get instant rewards for completing session work to keep them motivated, and also earn "cards" they can save up and exchange for prizes in the future. The facility is always clean and orderly, and the people who work there are friendly and helpful. If you have more than one kid enrolled at a time there is a discount on the others. Are you a student (whether traditional or not; whether serious or not -- I'll not say, whether intelligent or not), an office worker, administrator, instructor, or someone attached to the college in some cooperative capacity, or a combination of any of these? NWACC is large enough to encompass a plethora of experiences. So, a review that begins, "My algebra teacher was a bore," wouldn't begin to characterize the potential of any community college. As for me (who functions as an employee, one that has worked at other community colleges and universities), I enjoy the campus, which is nicer than many other campi (noun, Latin plural). That is important; I like clean lines. The library, which is always the clincher, will more than adequately support most any academic endeavor, for both student and professional, with friendly assistance. As for the education, accessibility is stressed, I have clearly seen, which is good news for many. And, out of the classroom, college culture is promoted in a variety of ways, for those who require that. What else can be said? Yeah, that one guy cut me off in the parking lot. Rotten teen drivers! And, they don't offer the Vietnamese courses I would like to take ... maybe even throw in a field trip to Saigon. Oh, well. Still, I'm a fan.
