So, I don't know anything about services at this church, but it's my new polling place. I stopped in to vote in the local election, and they only had 1 person checking people in, so there was a slow moving line. But the folks were nice. read more

Their pastor/guest speaker preached from the Bible and gave real life application. I was stirred into action something God has been encouraging me in because their message was a call to action. From what I have heard concerning their members, others as well are stirred into action by hearing the message and hearing God. Love it. Shows it to be a spirit led church. If I lived in this town, I would start here looking for a church family.

I finally came to the conclusion that this isn't really a church. This is a business disguised as a place of worship. Everything is run on a tight schedule, and the worship and message feel rushed. There is definately an unwelcome feeling in the air when you enter the building. The "volunteers " are simply free labor in order to put bodies in the seats and money in the plate. The "life groups" are another free way of this "church" getting away from what a real church is supposed to do. They are not there for the members. These "life groups" aren't designed to do anything either except what you would have learned in Sunday School growing up as a kid. It's a Bible study if you want to call it that just memorizing Bible verses and stories that may or may not apply and not even close to discussing any real life issues or developing any sort of relationships. Life.Church simply is a business not a House of God.

The church portion of the complex is standing there, but, they had Mass in the basement when I was there. There is a big building next to the church which I assume are living quarters. They don't have much heat, if any, and it is pretty cold for someone used to central heat. I think the construction is supposed to be such that it maintains habitable temperatures. If I can see the inside of the Abbey, I might give it more stars. They are doing hand chiseled figures on the frieze at the entry. They have an interesting website which is helpful to study before going, after all, it is a monastery, not a tourist attraction!
