What a treat! Tucked away right off 7th Street and Dunlap, it's a little Oasis in the otherwise kind of funky neighborhood. The owner John, is so friendly and knows everything about coffee. He even roasts his own beans so you're getting fresh roasted coffee and fresh ground coffee every time you order. There's a nice selection of baked goods for your sweet tooth too. The owner is a Navy veteran, and has decorated the place to match that theme. Lots of natural light, several choices of seating areas, huge flat screen TV and classic vinyl spinning tunes to caffeinate by! I had an iced dirty chai and one of their breakfast burritos. Both were really really good. The tortilla on the outside and the potatoes inside their burritos have a nice crispness to them and there's also this creamy sauce inside that is the bomb dot com. read more

Definitely my go-to coffee shop in the area after my first experience here last week! My father has Parkinson's and he was able to take his time figuring out which drink he would like and a Danish to go along with it. I believe we were served by the owner who was very patient and happy to help my dad settle on the Long Island macchiato which tastes like one of his favorite treats, Almond Roca! They chatted briefly about both of their service to our country while our coffees were being made and my dad got to hear a little about the roasting process used here which the owner was proud to talk about. It is hard for him to be out for long periods and even harder sometimes to get a little socializing in along with it without seeming like a bother to everyone. Even with it only being our first visit, we could see that they have a lot of regulars here who keep coming back! This is a place where you will sip some tasty coffee and meet good people. I thought it would be great to support a local business and after reading all the positive reviews, I thought this would be a great place to try. However, I will never be going to this coffee shop again; 1) The coffee is not good. Instant coffee would taste better. 2) The owner professes his political views which are very conservative. I have no problem with people's political views as I have friends on both sides of the isle. However, I don't believe a place of business is the right place to express those views, unless you are trying to alienate one side. 3) The owner carries a side arm which he makes no attempt to hide. I have no problem with people owning firearms and protecting their business, but this to me seems like a means to intimidate which does not make for a relaxing environment to enjoy your coffee. There are so many better coffee shops with a more friendly, relaxing environment with better coffee in the area; Lucy's, Grinder's, Scramble, Fiddler's Dream. read more

We needed Kona coffee. No one carries it anymore and my wife and I were thinking we had to win the lottery and move to Hawaii. Lifeboat saved us with their Kona blend. Smooth and delicious, we do not have to worry about moving ( and volcanoes) any more. As soon as we walked in we felt welcome. It is the only coffee house I know that smells like bacon tin the morning.Friendly knowledgeable staff and need I repeat, wonderful coffee at a fair price. And they have breakfast!
