My Dad had not been well for some time after his surgery and was reluctant to even wear one of these things, with the help of Leslie we were able to convince him that we were the ones who were worried about him and that by wearing the device it was for our peace of mind. Not too long after he started wearing the medical pendant he fell in the shower and needed help. I was at work when I got the call and the people told me to go straight to the hospital because the ambulance already left for Community Memorial. It's safe to say we dodged that bullet that day! I think that if he wasn't wearing his alert device that day it would have been a far worse ending.
