The changing room facilities are stocked with all your needs for getting ready from razors, hair dryer, mouth wash, Shaving cream, makeup remover and lotions. I love the drying machine for swimsuits. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. This is the absolute worst location in this company I've ever dealt with, and it's filled with horrible, disrespectful people. The staff can't get anything right, and they treat you like absolute garbage. The level of customer service here is appalling, and it's beyond me how this place is still in business after they treat s mixed family. When Linda Brooks ran the Troy location or Jason Bird managed it, things were a million times better. Now? A total disaster. Stevie, the so-called manager, is hands down the worst customer service "professional" I've ever encountered. She wouldn't even try to fix the issues at all, was like it is what it is,and her energy is totally I hate being here attitude. I've been a loyal customer since the Minneapolis location opened, even worked at the Troy location when it first launched, and have visited the Las Vegas location multiple times when in town. But this? This is a new low. I walked in today, thinking I had a family membership, and was greeted by Anna, who clearly had no clue what she was doing. She looked overwhelmed and like she couldn't care less. It's FATHER'S DAY, for crying out loud, and I was told I wasn't allowed entry unless I paid an additional $60 for my wife and son. We had just driven 54 minutes to get here, and now I'm being charged for MY OWN MEMBERSHIP and family. How is that even a thing?! What happens to caring about the customers. But that's not even the worst of it. The dry heat sauna was broken last week, then the power went out, then they closed for another outage the week before that. And now, after all that, they're charging me another $60? For what? Because of their incompetence and caring about the customers. Stevie was rude from the jump, disrespectful, and had the worst dry attitude imaginable, treating me like I was some inconvenience to her. After that, she just sat in the back office, not doing a single thing to help. Not once did anyone offer a solution or show any sense of care or respect for my situation. Honestly, it was like I was invisible. At this point, I'm seriously considering canceling my membership because this company clearly doesn't care about its members or guests which you can see with the 3 star reviews. Finally decided to do a tour since my job has this available with a small discount but please note signature membership which is TOP package runs about $190 (after taxes); so I'm judging high. My appointment was at 11am - I walked in at 10:50am because I'm ALWAYS early and i was literally back at my vehicle at 11:07am. I guess that's the reason the tour-guide person didn't suggest or offer for me to hang my belongings somewhere before the tour started. I was sweating bad when i got back to my car. Lol! PLEASE NOTE - if you only reviewed online; then you'll be disappointed because the setup ISN'T shown what it appears online and/or was represented. So make sure you explore before purchasing the membership and ask all the questions which I did with corporate representative for my job, so any questions i would have would been after seeing the facility. **You're allowed 2 guest passes per month but the same person can't use until another pass until after 2 months. PRO(s): - if you're a parent then day care option is available with i think about 2hrs maxs, cafe onsite, free towels, and newer equipment. - Pickleball court?! (if you're into that) which is shares the same court for basketball; a netting is only thing splitting them off so you'll get both chatters if a game get intense. Lol! CON(s): - the OPEN CONCEPT for the private class which is literally out in the middle of the floor (Alpha section) and other private classes are in different direction but still on the open floor. Website presented it as a more of private setting - nope you're just getting rope around the surrounding the area. So membership will have to wait until session is over, then they can use the equipment again. - Pool with lap lane; the tour-guide person basically said it was first come first serve without a time limit but online made it seems you can reserve for a slotted time without being disturbs. So now if someone there for a long time because at the moment it's winter or it really get busy i can't really say anything. - Large signal is presented before you go upstairs saying "NO DUFFLE BAGS OR BACKPACKS"; i asked if this was enforced and tour-guide basically said not really. For the amount of money and things i was expecting - I'm definitely passing on this SIGNATURE membership option. If the location was 24hrs EVERYDAY, then i might think about purchasing a STANDARD membership for about $140 (after taxes). Happy shopping!!! read more

This was the gym I frequented the most when I lived in Plymouth. It's awkwardly located at Ford road. It was always busy on the treadmills and elliptically and by the weight areas too. I can't imagine how hard it would be to stay socially distanced today. The cost was decent for access to a full gym with a pool too. read more

Been a member for many years, but since covid, their kids camp cost has went through the roof. If I were to put my son in the camp for the entire week, the cost is over $1200.00 dollars per week, which is insane to me. Unacceptable and Disrespectful Treatment at Life Time Fitness (Canton Location) January 2nd, at 5:05 PM EST, I experienced one of the worst examples of customer service at Life Time Fitness in Canton. Earlier, I called to ask why my membership rate increased from $90 to $110 for one person. The representative claimed it was because I had removed my adult kids from the family membership, implying I was being penalized for managin my own account. And keep adding or taking them out. Just FYI, I was paying the fees with putting and taking them with no complains . Frustrated, I went to the location to get a better explanation. Instead of being met with understanding or professionalism, I encountered rudeness and outright disrespect from the staff. Angelia, who claimed to be the manager, and Nick, who appeared to have made changes to my account, were dismissive from the start. When I expressed my frustration, they accused me of yelling--even though I was simply asking valid questions. Then Angelia said, "You know what? I'm canceling your account." I told her I did not want to cancel my membership, but Nick backed her up, saying they could do it because it is private property. They even threatened that if I called the police, I would be the one kicked out. This happened in front of other members, adding to my humiliation. The way they treated me was appalling--disrespectful, degrading, and completely unprofessional. It was not just me; this shows how poorly they treat people in general. Life Time Fitness, this is no way to run a business or treat human beings. Customers deserve fairness, respect, and dignity--not to be harassed, embarrassed, or publicly humiliated. And I must say I just came back from a vacation in Mexico at a five star all-inclusive resort and going to lifetime fitness feels like an extension of that vacation. I've had a wonderful experience. Decided to join Lifetime once again since a majority of my fitness friends goes there. We all joined the 90 day challenge and have get togethers within our group for support five times a week. Just when I thought everything was great, it crashed! We picked a night after work and to our surprise, not a single parking spot was available, nothing along Haggerty but if you were lucky you might find a spot on I-275! We thought it was just that one time, not a chance, literally Monday through Friday its a no go. I saw Jeeps parked sideways on snow hills, handicap parking started in front of the building in the fire lane, it was crazy. Saturday and Sunday is kind of busy but there's still places to park. On a slow day you still park your car a ways away. They are constantly adding members to the Lifetime gym but someone needs to start calculation ok we have thousands of Canton members enrolled here and so much parking spots. They need to build a parking garage to hold the amount of people attending every night. There's got to be a limit of people allowed in an area within the building and I'm sure they are way over that limit on the busy crazy nights. Amazing and knowledgeable staff, trainers and equipment but that doesn't matter if you can't get in to enjoy it! read more

Well, this is the only option/gym... who offers all these different classes and facilities .. Much cleaner than few other places. The good: amazing couches and classes. Fully maintained equipments. Good selection of free weights. Clean yoga rooms. Open 24x 7 The bad: not so clean locker room, ppl throw the damp and dirty towels everywhere, the lockers are dirty too sometimes. They should clean the hair driers, which accumulates dust in the back. Parking, is a nightmare. In the peak time I park close to haggerty and walk in the cold slush (during winter) for a long time. But guess that ok. I AM coming to workout. This is bit pricey but This place has progressively got better due to that reason, There use to be teenage kids running around and playing the equipments and pools. Now that has reduced quite a bit. It's a disappointment that I even have to write this review. I signed up for a ONE month membership while on business for 3 weeks. Upon signing up and paying in full upfront, I was told that I could cancel after my 3 weeks and I would not experience any additional fees as this would not be a recurring month to month membership. However, apparently that was a total lie. After reaching out to the manager when additional charges were placed on my credit card a month later, I was told that the information I was given upon initial sign up was inaccurate and I would not be refunded. After only using my membership for 21 days and proof that it was cancelled within 3 weeks they still wouldn't accommodate my request and made me pay more $. What absolutely terrible customer service! Considering you can track my visits to see how much I actually used my membership, this feels like FRAUD as I don't even live in the state to be able to utilize a membership that I'm paying for! Don't go here if you're on short term business or worried about having an exceptional experience as a member with an issue, it's evident you won't receive it. read more

This gym has no management or leadership. They have some well designed policies to make the gym inviting and efficient. However, these procedures are never enforced and sometimes customers are actively encouraged to ignore them. Let's begin with the parking lot, potentially one of the most dangerous places in Canton. I've almost been run over at crosswalks a handful of times. The roadways in the lot are too narrow, leading to blind spots everywhere. If you are fortunate enough to find a locker in the locker room, you should never empty it out and claim it as your own permanently. This is clearly what many customers do. I brought this to management's attention and they acknowledged that many folks complained about it but it would be "too hard" to do anything about it. The locking mechanisms on the lockers are mostly faulty, so expect to wait for an attendant each time you need to open your locker. Luckily, they are usually available because so many people need them. If you are just looking for cardio equipment, you'll be fine. If you want to use free weights or gym machines, be prepared to wait. What used to take me 45 minutes at another gym takes me 65-70 minutes. Many customers claim machines or benches and sit or socialize without using them. Gym attendants won't enforce any rules and the weight area can feel intimidating and unwelcoming. Employees only will speak to you if you are paying extra for personally training or small group training. That's not to say they aren't around. You are far more likely to see employees chatting with each other in groups than assisting customers. The pool is reasonably nice and I had a good massage there. read more

Pros- towels, shower amenities, range of classes. I have not noticed dirty/wet floors which a lot of reviews seem to mention. Actually, I think they do a great job constantly cleaning floors especially considering we live in Michigan. Cons - parking. A couple others that only apply to women: Hair dryers could use an upgrade or a deep clean. I bring my own so I can dry my hair in a reasonable amount of time. They used to supply tampons in which was nice for emergencies but at some point they stopped. Lastly, it would be really cool if they could add electric chargers. Life Time Fitness-Canton is a beautiful monster of a gym. I went there for years (sadly, recently ending my membership due to the long commute from downtown Ann Arbor), and each time, felt like it was a place that I would like to linger, a place where I could truly work on my mental and physical wellbeing. The first floor houses the Life Time Spa, Life Time Cafe, locker rooms, basketball courts, and pool. The LT Cafe has healthy meals that are easy to grab when squeezing in a lunch hour workout. There are indoor lap-pools, open year-round, and an outdoor seasonal, "fun" pool with lots of seating for summer days. The women's locker room is spacious, with a nice lounge area, plenty of lockers and towels, and nice, CLEAN showers. All of the equipment and group classrooms are located on the second floor. I have never seen another gym so well-outfitted with all the latest equipment - - If you can't find it here, it doesn't exist! All of the equipment is clean and well-maintained. For me, the class offerings were a real bonus (no extra charge)... There were tons of yoga and pilates classes that suited all levels and fitness needs. I also used my LT Bucks to attend a couple workshops, including a fantastic Yin Meditation series. I will truly miss this gym! If only they would open one closer to downtown Ann Arbor, I would be the first to sign up!! read more

This use to be a great place to come. They changed the layout plan of the workout area where you can't find the machines you like. They are very expensive. Today I came for the holiday and was sitting at the edge with my 7 months and we were told children are not allowed in the pool after a certain time right as we set down. They have plenty of machines and weights. You will never have to wait for a specific machine. They offer several classes and personal trainers. Many classes are included with membership but a few require an extra fee. The workout area is very large so you will never feel uncomfortable working out close to others. The gym is very clean. They have cleaning wipes throughout the machine area. I often see staff cleaning and wiping down the locker rooms. I would be very careful with the child care. We had an incident recently. They have cameras but they're not working. This lifetime also has a cafe and spa. The staff at the cafe is friendly and tries to be quick. I have been happy with the spa. I wasn't blown away with it but it was ok. It's convenient but VERY difficult to get an appointment. This Lifetime could use several more family changing rooms. That would make this a 5 Star review. I am a mother with a son and I'm not allowed to take him in he women's changing room. I've waited 20-25 mins to change at times. It is especially worse during the summer. read more

Starting with the good - This is a beautiful gym! The locker rooms are always very clean and I really enjoy the fact that they provide you with a lot of the thing you may need, especially towels. I like to sit and have a smoothie after a work out, and I do like that they have the option available at the cafe. They have a lot of machines to use and a lot of different classes and ways to work out, which is great too. The indoor/outdoor pool is a big plus. Now, here's the not so good - The classes are always packed full of people. I went to an early morning yoga class hoping that I would get there before people were awake and wanting to go to the class, and I was wrong. It was almost like I couldn't even complete the poses and flow because I would touch someone if I did. With that said, there are always SO many people here, no matter what time you go, and I blame that on the lack of locations that Lifetime Fitness has available. read more

I have always heard how amazing Life Time Fitness is, so I had to see for myself. I completely understand now. This gym has a lot to offer! In addition to a huge cardio area, free weights, machines, pools and classes, they also have a spa and cafe! You could literally spend hours here. I think the thing that impressed me the most is the locker room. You don't need to bring a lock, you simply slide your membership card into this box on the inside of the locker door (wooden lockers) and that lets you take the key out. The key has the locker number on it and a pin to attach it to your pants. So nice! They have a rock climbing wall and basketball courts, but I don't use either. They have two pools, one inside and one outside. Both of them have water slides. Im talking, huge slides! Think water park status! I think this adds to the family friendly atmosphere. I've seen advertisements for the daycare and kid programs which I think is great for parents. While they are kid friendly, I haven't seen any kids, so don't worry about that. Of course there are cheaper gyms out there but you really do get a lot for your money! They run promotions and offer LT Bucks for referring new members. One word to describe this place....Filthy!!! I was working in the area and had a gap in my schedule so I decided to use this club during that time. Went into locker room. Dirty floors and counters, paper all over, used towels wadded up and laying on floor. Found a locker with a lock that was hard to get to lock. On the bench was an empty Fiji water bottle. It would still be there when I left 2 hours later. Gym area was not very clean either. Steamer was nasty!! Hair and discarded towels all over. Toilets were filthy. Soap dispensers in showers were empty. Walked by a handicapped shower with the hand held shower head ripped off, I wonder if/when that will get fixed? Cafe is understaffed, only 2 people working at noon. Leaving the club, had to navigate through the mine field of potholes. This is just a really awful place. Lifetime should be ashamed!!! read more

Still loving Lifetime.. I'm back again, and I won't be leaving for a while. One of the things that keeps drawing me here is the overall vibe - it's more of a club than a gym, let's call it a country club without a golf course. The amenities are simply great. I love the simple, little things such as towel service, soaps, lotions, blowdriers etc (even tampons) in the locker rooms. Of course, a dry heat sauna and eucalyptus steam room does not hurt either. I only use the lap pool, but they have two decent sized recreational pools (with slides) as well - indoor and outdoor. The Life Cafe serves up (protein) smoothies and other tasty things. There's even a salon/spa with dedicated massage rooms. My stepdaughter digs the climbing wall, but that's not really my thing. Neither is basketball, but they have two full sized indoor courts. I need to dig up our rackets and balls because they have both squash and racquetball courts at this location (yippee!). Fitness wise.. Anything and everything you could want, they've got. If you're doing cardio or weights, they have you covered. I have never had to wait for anything, there are So Many Pieces of Equipment! Group classes vary from zumba to yoga to pilates and kickboxing. My faves are the Gluteus MAXout (or as I call it, my a$$ class), cycling/spinning and FIT. This location is pretty much always clean, towels are always refreshed quickly, really-I have no complaints. I live a lot closer to the Novi club (it is essentially next door), but we come here for this exact reason: cleanliness. read more

I love LifeTime! I have been a member since 2017 and they have always impressed me. The clubs have great hours, most being 24 hours, and the staff is amazing. I think you truly pay for what you get and paying for a larger premium ($70 a month) there is a lot included in that cost including classes, treatments, the whole gym, amenities like the indoor and outdoor pools, etc. The staff is wonderful and I think the people are genuinely kind and want to focus on workouts and fitness. There are rarely bad apples, but every gym has some so that's understandable. I truly recommend checking it out and seeing all the benefits! read more

I visited this location a few times while I was visiting Michigan. I have been to many Lifetime locations and this has to be one of the worst Lifetimes I have been to. I am not comparing it to the Onyx locations, I am comparing Gold to Gold. First off, I start off by working out and see that a lot of the machines are out of order, and every time I visited they were still out of order, no signs of being fixed. Secondly, I begin to change, and go for a towel, they are no where to be seen. Usually at other lifetimes, they are in the middle of every locker separation, but couldnt find one. I had to ask one of the guys there, and he told me they were only outside, so I had to put on some clothes, and walk outside, get a towel. How silly is that. Third, thought I could relax and go inside of the steam room. This steam room is tiny. Another thing is the steam smelt very bad, like nasty B.O. and the steam being produced wasnt even that warm. Usually when I sit in other steam rooms, I get warm quick and can feel the menthol being breathed in. I didnt feel anything. Lastly, this really wasnt a problem but just weird. They have nice large showers, but its weird that the top half of the shower curtain was see through. So as you shower, you see people walking by. All in all, not good experiences, and next time I visit, I will try out the Novi location, but I hear it is even worse than that location. read more

I am exercise resistant. I hate it. But it is a necessary evil, which is why I wandered in to Lifetime almost two years ago. I appreciated the tour we were taken on, but don't put much stock in that. At the time, they were trying to get me to sign up for a membership, so of course the tour is going to be great. I have never had to wait for any of the cardio equipment, no matter what time I go there. Sometimes there is a wait for the weights (haha) as this place is full of hard-core lifters and buff guys and girls. There is a double edged sword thing going on here for me. I wanted a place to work out that I could slip in and out of any time and no one would really pay attention to what I was doing. For this, Lifetime is perfect. It's big and busy and no one cares what you are doing. I do want to try one of their classes, but because of the impersonal nature of the place, I haven't felt really comfortable doing so. It seems there isn't anyone you can go up to and act like a shy dork and have them take you under their wing and walk you to a class like a kid on the first day of kindergarten. But, like I said, I like the fact that no once cares what I do here, so I will take the trade-off. When I asked a staffer about bringing my son, who uses a wheelchair, to use the pool, I was given really great treatment. He took me in the family locker room, and helped me do kind of a trial run to see if we could get him in and out and changed, etc. It was nice to be treated like it was their pleasure to have us there, and not like they were making special accommodations for us, and we were a bother. It's great to go to their cafe after a workout and get a protein smoothie. Pretty convenient even though it isn't the cheapest place in the world. The membership is month to month auto bill on your credit card until you cancel. I liked this because years ago, joining a gym meant at least a full one year commitment. I love Lifetime :-) I work out three times a week with a trainer (personal injury issues) and because of the trainer I have had life hanging improvements to my physical health. Erin A. is very knowledgeable and wonderful to boot. My only complaints are that in the women's locker room there are sometimes quite a few children squeaking and running about. There is a family locker room for families who don't have "same sex" children, as in, women can only bring girl children into the women's locker room and med can only bring the boys into the men's locker room. Last one, in the women's locker room, women don't clean their hair out of the shower drains and sometimes it looks like big foot was there and left a big pile of hair behind, HOW GROSS!! At first sight it looks clean, but then: Spa full of scum People go from the sauna into the spa or pool without showering, the lifeguard doesnt say anything I always shower in the same cabin, they havent cleaned it in at least 2 weeks as there is the same hair from shaving on the wall Often no toilet paper in the stalls And I could keep going... This is the Ritz Carlton of gyms in Southeast Michigan. Locker room: It's very well-kept, clean, and very spacious. There are several "privacy" stalls for you to change. There are about 10 private showers as well as a steam room. Gym: There is a very large cardio area. I have never counted how many treadmills and eliptials there are, but I imagine it's there are at least 50 of each. There are no "30-minute rules" that many other gyms have. You can run or walk on your treadmill for as long as you'd like. There is a large free weights area, which can be a little intimidating at times due to the number of jersey-shore looking guys. There are plenty of mats, medicine balls, space for you to do whatever you need to do for an optimal workout. Classes: I have been to many spinning classes here. The bikes were upgraded in 2010 and are wonderful. The classes are challenging- some instructors are better than others, but overall, I very much enjoy their spinning classes. Although I have never attended, the Saturday morning hip hop class is always full before it even begins. If you're into it, I suggest you get there a little earlier. Pool: There is a lap pool as well as a warmer and shallower pool for younger kids with 2 indoor water slides. There are also 2 outdoor pools with 2 additional water slides. There are 2 dry sauna rooms as well as 2 large hot tubs in the pool area. It's heavenly to relax here after a tough workout. Positive: Has much to offer, always open. Negative: Always dirty. Members have no respect and trash the place. Rules are never enforced by staff. The pool rules are Never enforced. People don't shower before coming in the pool, wear gym shoes in the pool area, wear clothes in the pool, kids do cannonballs in the lap pool, kids are in the hot tub. The pool is poorly staffed. I feel bad for the lifeguards as they may be overwhelmed at times, but when there are plenty, they don't enforce the rules; like they are afraid they'll offend someone for enforcing the rules. It's getting harder to want to keep paying $70/month with as dirty and unruly as this place is getting. read more
