Amazing place, very happy and friendly staff that are always welcoming, an insane amount of amenities and they just keep adding more. If you have kids this place is a no brainer for my family of four it is cheaper then part time daycare for 1 of my kids. There are so many classes and all of them have trainers that make the classes fun and inclusive to all abilities and training levels. The gym is huge with tons of equipment and it is the only gym where equipment is ever fixed or replaced quickly and efficiently not that machines go down very often. Everyone is just so happy here and who can blame them it feels like a luxury country club and the outdoor space in the summer feels more like your on a beach resort. The whole place is always clean and well maintained. If you are thinking about booking a tour, do it. It is worth every penny. read more

ifetime review The WORST customer service I have EVER experienced... I'm not a member but you would think the front desk staff, Menka would treat me fairly, with decency and respect. I have been purchasing smoothies at the Lifetime Ajax location for YEARS, not everyday but on the odd occasion... mind you their smoothies are hella expensive but sooo good, so I don't mind to splurge as a paying customer. As of recently I've been repeatedly harassed, taunted and embarrassed by Menka (the front staff) in front of members of the club. Menka gets to pick and choose when I can and can't enter the facility... EVEN after I have spoken to numerous managers who have expressed that YES, though I am not a member I can still enter the facility for a snack at the Life cafe or even a spa treatment. Yesterday, I was accused of being aggressive and angry. Characterized as a hostile, ill-tempered individual in front of many members. Why would I be aggressive and angry when I've been told on numerous occasions that I'm allowed to be here? As a black women to be told your being aggressive and angry when you are simply trying to get clarification on a policy is a harmful, persuasive stereotype. Like everyone else I am entitled to express my concerns in a respectful manner and recognize that treating people with respect, dignity and understanding is the best way to get your point across. I cannot believe they have individuals representing their company and talking to potential members or ANYONE like that! I would hope she would want to deescalate the situation instead of making it worse with the false accusations and name calling, especially while she is STILL working on the floor. I have over 20+ years in customer service and I'm very aware of how to de-escalate customer issues. I too work in the yoga/fitness industry as well as the financial sector and so I am very knowledgable of how to speak to others. She needs major training to alter her bias behaviour, remarks and how to promote inclusivity, so that she can represent the company at their high standards OR find someone else who doesn't have a chip on their shoulder over a smoothie and who can manage the front desk engagement. If I could give NO star, I would honestly speaking, but during my visits, Linda and Ryan have made a powerful impact on my experience. I do want to thank them for their generosity and for coming over to console me when I was tearful, and emotionally exhausted from repeatedly explaining myself. I know where I am welcomed, and I am not welcomed at Life Time even if it's as small and insignificant as a smoothie, how she treats people at the front says a lot. When asked for an apology, Menka stated" I'm sorry YOU feel I was rude. That wasn't my intention." That's who they have working the front desk. Horribly filthy showers - smell of sewage and not cleaned often enough. The steamroom, the hot tub and pool are periodically closed for repairs and unavailable for periods of time. The towels run out and dirty towels pile up. Their machines are aging.... read more

I was a member on and off for the last 3 years. The place is unsanitary with all the Jacuzzis being very dirty - black on the walls. There are multiple screaming children under 12 in the ladies change room, you can't relax even for a minute. The worst was an incident that happened to me at the outdoor pool. A lifeguard hit me with the foam stick unexpectedly while I was swimming face down in the middle of the lane and yelled at me to get out. I was stunned and he shouted he was going to do a swim test, after which he threw a struggling 5 year old child in the deepest part of the pool to test him. The lifeguard didn't apologize, when I told him that I was distressed by what he did, he ridiculed me loudly in front of everyone "Ohh, do you need CPR, ma'am?" In my 20 years of gym memberships, I have never felt so harassed and so insulted. My family witnessed this. I sent an incident report to their manager Ryan, who didn't even bother to apologize, was arrogant in his email reply. This was a ghetto-like culture for 200$ per month membership. Also, worth mentioning their staff stole my husband's brand new running shoes from the change rooms. They claimed they were not in their organizational department and on another occasion I heard the receptionist bragging about how they have Prada and other very expensive shoes in their bin that no one will claim. have been to Ajax life time spa over years and no complain at all. But I have to say last visit was terrible and the service was manipulating, disappointing, dishonest. Last week, I booked an appointment with Dion for 30min massage. Unfortunately, while I drove to the place, GPS didn't work for a while. I was frustrated and called them to see if it is worth going since it would be too late if I arrived. But the new receptionist said to come. I managed to arrive eventually but got turndown by Dion because only 10min left. And I was told to pay for cancelation fees as penalty. I immediately felt I was fulled. This was unprofessional process. I was late before, I always paid for full service. But this time they tricked me. I was very frustrated and complained to the Cafeteria manager Ravern who understood me and comforted me and would report to the manager. However, when I called back to the manager Bronwen Skoundridakis who was very unfriendly and even yelled at me over the phone without listening to my statement. She accused me being late many times, but in fact I always paid them full amount. She attacked me by saying I raised my voice and was disrespectful to the staff. While she yelled at me freely over the phone? Ridiculous!!! Somebody got to help end this. I really felt insulted. read more

I just joined this gym 10 days ago with my 2.5 yr old daughter and I absolutely love this place. The main reason for joining LT for me was the fact that they have the most amazing kids academy where I can drop off my daughter for 2 hrs (for children over 3 yrs of age and toilet trained, they can be left for 3 hrs!) in a well staffed, kid-oriented environment while I work out. They always have a program running for the little ones (karate, music, arts & crafts, gymnastics...etc) and the staff are very attentive and engaging with all the "junior members" playing there. Once you drop your kid off, they hand you a pager which you can take to your workout and if there is any reason for them to page you (like your toddler having a melt-down over sharing an ipad for example), they will. Otherwise, you can rest assured that your little one is having a good time while you're getting in shape. The facilities are superb as the previous reviewer listed but what makes this place stand out is the kids academy for sure. I'm hoping to be a member for a long time to come. read more

Very poor for this money!! Great facility, but horrible service! And it went down badly since 2020. Crowds and lineups in family rooms, rude, poorly trained staff, so as management, that doesn't know a thing, but only point you on endless rules, checking id's on outside deck, all group classes are full 10 min after registration is open, swim desk takes forever to respond and so on and on... Have to cancel my membership after several years, cause it's just becoming ridiculous. Highly not recommended! read more

I've been a member since January 2016 and it is by far the best gym I've ever been to. All classes are available to you with your membership, there's free towel service, clean bathrooms (that come with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, shaving cream), a clean changing area, eucalyptus sauna, regular sauna, and jacuzzi bath. In terms of their equipment, they have a plethora of equipment that range from your standard weights and treadmills to crunch machines and stairs. There's also a court for basketball and indoor soccer field. Haven't been to the outdoor pool yet, but there's a nice water slide for the kids to enjoy. Love the gym. Fully loaded with small fight training area. Food is healthy and tastes really fresh and delicious. Staff is helpful and we just love everything in as far as the pool, steam bath, hot tub etc. Great kids club that is well secured with the pass system to ensure your child goes with you! I'd recommend it to anyone! My son plays on a Life Time basketball house team and the coach is great with the kids and helps promote confidence and the coach will give you all his time.. like I said, staff are amazing. Dima, the Pilates instructor has the most amazing credentials and she is a beautiful soul. Great all around person. read more

I have been a member at this location for about 2 months now and I can safely say that no other gym can touch Life Time and what their facilities offer. Is it costlier than other gyms? Yes, but pictures and reviews alone don't do the place justice so please go see the facilities for yourself so that you can appreciate what your membership fees are going towards. Fresh towels, change rooms stocked with complimentary toiletries, locks built into lockers, tons of equipment that is always available, indoor AND outdoor pool, spa, cafe, basketball court, soccer pitch, boxing, spin and a bunch of others I'm likely even forgetting. There isn't a single thing that I can think of that I would add to this gym. read more

A girlfriend surprised me for my birthday and got me a massage here. I've never had a massage before but every person I'd spoken to had a great experience here at the spa facility and highly recommended it. The facility itself was huge (what gym has a built in salon and spa?!) and very professional and clean-looking. I was motioned to a waiting area with beautiful decor while ladies had their hair and nails done. I was given a clipboard to fill out my information including health history and other information for the massage therapist to get to know you and your needs. My massage therapist Mona Lisa (yes that's her actual name, she came highly recommended) then escorted me into a room in the massage area that was clean, beautiful, comfortable and professional. She asked me some questions about my concerns and preferences and walked me through what I could expect. After giving me privacy to undress, she really-entered the room to begin the massage. The massage itself was lovely. Mona Lisa made an effort to ask me about my comfort levels and the pressure she was using. She also took the time to ask me questions about my habits so that she could understand what my muscles do on a regular basis. She explained how my habits effect my muscles and things like tension and posture. After the massage she gave me so stretches to do at home to help with my problem areas. Overall it was a wonderful experience. If I lived in the area I would look into a membership! read more

This is the most fancy and yes... expensive gym I've ever been to. But I'm paying for what I get. I spend a lot of time in the gym working out and enjoy the mind space such a beautiful facility provides. I'm fortunate enough to be making enough money at this point in my life were I can make this a priority for myself. They have all the body building equipment I personally enjoy. My husband and I signed up a few weeks ago. The person signing us up said he was new and told us a lot of lies. I wish I had taped our conversation with him now for proof. I am assuming he lied to get us to sign up and get his commission as well as a large sum to join. He told us we could get in touch with him and have guests come at anytime that we had 12 passes that we could use anytime. We were told "I got you" over and over just text me. I tried bringing guests that drove in from out of town and was told that guests were after 4:00 pm, anytime before would be $30.00 each and we could only have a guest every 60 days. Then we have been given so many different stories from the front desk. We were told children would be out of the indoor and outdoor pools at 9:00 pm. So we went and wanted to lane swim indoors after 9:00pm there were a bunch of kids there running around with water guns on the deck and going through lanes we saw the youngest around 10 fall twice. I spoke to the Lifeguard and she asked the boy who had just fallen in front of her if he fell and he said no and they continued with the behaviour. We left around 10:00pm and the unsupervised children had not left. We have kept the membership because we paid a huge sign up fee and we can not get this back as well as membership fees. We also want to get in shape. I have had memberships like the YMCA downtown and had the same types of services without lies and confused staff. We were enjoying the gym and will make the best out of it. I just wish we had not been lied to. It leaves a bad taste in your mouth hopefully this person will be fired. read more

Went to lifetime as a guest of a member for a trial visit. After trying the barbell class I went to the change room to shower. I left my shoes under the bench in front of my locker, next to another persons flip flops, as I didn't want my clothes in my locker to get post-workout-shoe smell. I was in the shower and sauna for approx 10 mins total. On my return my shoes and the flip flops next to them were gone. I went to the front desk and they said that the cleaning staff will periodically (approx every hour) go through the change rooms and clean up shoes left on the floor and then take them to "the bin" in "operations" as a sort of lost and found. I gave them a description of my shoes and they said they couldn't see them and would try to check again the next day. I left my name an number with the staff at the desk and they assured me they would call me the next day and update me. The next day at 1pm, I called the desk at the gym as I had yet to hear from them. The staff member said she checked with the "operations dept" and they could not find any shoes that could have been mine. So it would seem that my $100 sneakers are gone, and they were taken by either a member of the gym or someone on the staff. I have been a member of several gyms over the course of 17 years. Big box, small private owned, university gyms, some less than $20/month some more than $150/month. Never once have I had anything taken or stolen (boots, jackets, shoes, hats etc). The shoes were left for 10 minutes and they were stolen. That doesn't speak well for the patrons/staff at this facility. It was a terrible experience and I recommend that anyone who attends this gym not leave ANYTHING unattended for any length if time. I wish that the individual who had given me the tour of the facility would have warned me not to leave my shoes on the floor and to lock up EVERYTHING not just valuables, or else staff might come and take them away. I have never seen a policy like that before, and it obviously doesn't work to keep items more secure for the clientele. I was about to sign myself and my husband up for this gym when I had finished dressing, but this has truly tainted my view of this place. read more

Just as I thought. Facility looked amazing when new and still looks nice but now the maintenance issues are starting to show. I knew there was going to be a problem when i saw those small tiles in the hot tub. Below the waterline is fine but they forgot about above the water line. Grout is mouldy and you can scrape a thick layer of dirt around the rim ( from sweat and creams/ dirt) which covers about two rows of tiles in dirt because people don't shower before entering pool area. It is really nasty actually. There are cleaners for this that will not affect the quality of water. Maintenance seems good for facility but it doesn't look like they know how to keep the Spas clean. Why the small tiles? I bet staff gave up cause it is so hard to clean that endless grout on your knees. Hope you guys clean it soon. People spending 100 a month to rub their back in this filth ewww !!! If you don't believe me check it out for yourself. This gym has changed my life. I have been a member at gyms on and off for most of my adult life. I have tried yoga classes before and they never "stuck." Since becoming a member in March 2019 I am blown away by the classes, instructors, community and amenities I have the privilege of using. This place has made me look at trips to the gym in a different way: I actually look at my calendar to try to fit in a daily workout because I love it. The kids academy is amazing and the outdoor pool was so not busy in the summer and well maintained all summer. I adore that there is an indoor pool accessible to me and my family all days. The yoga is incredible and I am obsessed with the AMP spin class as well - though every class I have done is fantastic. It feels like more than a gym to me as I have really gotten to know a lot of the staff. I feel that it is worth every penny. I can't say enough about Lifetime. I just love it! read more

After my experience here im absolutely done with big box commercial gyms, equipment here is the same as any other commercial gym, and all of their decent bars and platforms are taken on weekdays from 7 to 8 by their stupid crossfit class. read more

The only problem I had so far is that I supposed to get the credit for the person you refer to the club but in my case I didn't get one no matter how many times I asked the manages about it. Don't be fooled by all the bells and whistles that this club has to offer. Their bottom line is to bring in members and their money. Classes are crowded as is the change room in the evenings. They underpay and over work their staff who put up with abuse from members who feel some sense of entitlement (do you leave soaking wet towels on the floor of your home shower?). I've had my membership for a year and feel a great sense of relief that I'm no longer there. You have other options (e.g., Town of Ajax, Good Life) that offer the same exceptional programs. Maybe they aren't as fancy but after a year at this place, it's not so great. The showers smell, people are slobs and it's really just like any other fitness centre. I'm going elsewhere and can bring my own towel. read more
