DO NOT RECOMMEND: If you run a business and use your trailer on for your business and expect to be able to access it on a daily basis then do not use this place. On August 10th, which fell on a Thursday, I received an email notification regarding a revised merger agreement that included additional storage space. The correspondence outlined modifications to access hours and other pertinent details. Subsequently, I promptly initiated contact, either on that day or the following, to ensure uninterrupted access to my trailer. This was imperative due to the nature of my business, where I rely on daily access to the trailer for operations. Unfortunately, I was preoccupied with family visiting on the subsequent Friday, preventing me from verifying the implemented changes. Nevertheless, during my initial inquiry, I was assured that the necessary adjustments had been made, granting me 24-hour access to my trailer. However, my expectations were not met when, on Monday the 14th, at 7:20 am, I arrived at the storage facility only to encounter a denial code message. This unforeseen circumstance led to a loss of precisely $410 in business revenue as I was compelled to cancel appointments with my clients. In the aftermath of this incident, I endeavored to address the issue by reaching out via email on three separate occasions over the subsequent weeks. Regrettably, these attempts yielded minimal response and a lack of accountability on the part of Extra Space/Life Storage. Consequently, for several weeks, I faced an inability to access the facility's gate, forcing me to resort to parking my trailer in my driveway. This posed dual concerns: firstly, my business assets were left vulnerable to theft or vandalism without the protection of the storage facility's security, and secondly, I risked potential violations of our Homeowners Association (HOA) regulations for storing the trailer in my driveway. After approximately three weeks of enduring this predicament without any updates, I personally visited the storage location. During this visit, I conversed with a staff member who was kind enough to provide me with a temporary access code. I also apprised her of the ongoing situation, and she assured me that she would communicate my concerns to the relevant parties. Regrettably, as of 6:30 am this morning, September 20th, I find myself once again locked out of the gate, despite two attempts to contact the emergency assistance lines, which yielded no success. I was informed that I would need to wait until the office opens at 9:30 am to receive any assistance. This recurring issue has led to a further loss of revenue, estimated at $400, and has had an adverse impact on my business's reputation, as it now faces the perception of unreliability. read more

Fabulous customer service. I made a mistake with my lock -- and they called so I could take care of it immediately. When I needed to upgrade my unit, they took time to help me, considered that I'd need to work to move my stuff, (again, sigh. Moving is such a pain) and worked to make sure my fees were fair and correct. Can't say enough about Shasta and her team. There are real people running this place (it's not just a website) and they care. read more

My name is Dino Hanes. I stored my classic car there for over a year while I was out of town, and finally moved it last winter. During my stay there, the cops were called twice. Someone tried to steal my car, someone took a screwdriver to the ignition switch. Patrick said he would "look into it". He didn't. Also, my car cover was stolen. it was custom-made to fit only my car. As I write this, it covers a smaller car in the same. (One can tell by all the excess. it's obvious). The staff did little to help me get it back. The customer service was nil. The impression I got was that they were concerned only about their own liability. Fabulous customer service. Patrick goes above and beyond to answer questions and take care of any issues that arise. We recently put our stuff in storage while some work was done on the house. The agent at the Life Storage reservation number was helpful and courteous. The pricing and specials were great. Once at the Manchaca Road facility, Patrick showed us several storage units and helped patiently when we decided to up-size at the last minute. The unit and the premises were clean and well-maintained and we felt safe there. All-in-all, it was a great, affordable storage experience. We would use Life Storage again if the need arises. read more

Very poor communication at this location. I was supposed to pick up a rental truck today and have called multiple times with no answer. I had to call another LifeStorage location to find out that this store is closed today because an employee tested positive for COVID. I know this is an unforeseen circumstance, but communication with customers in this situation is absolutely necessary. If I hadn't contacted another location, I would have driven 30 minutes to a closed store and no truck this afternoon. Now I'm scrambling to figure out my rental truck situation and get everything out of my apartment by the end of the week. read more

I called multiple time left voices messages and even called a main office number and had them to leave a message for me to let them know I would be showing up 10 minutes before closing we proceed to show up ahead of schedule and there's no one in the office and it's closed 10 minutes before office is supposed to be closed very displease with lack of communication and none response from the storage unit it's self read more

Preston, Brandi, and the Life Storage team are absolutely awesome. They helped us through a really tough time (multiple moves and being in between houses). Great to work with, nice facility, and always willing to figure out the best solution to a problem. I had a pleasant experience at Life Storage today. Preston was professional, efficient and extremely patient. He showed me a couple of storage rooms of different sizes. He took the time to show how to work the front gate code as well as the storage room locking mechanism. He is a considerate young man who knows exactly how to treat his customers. Life Storage (used to be Uncle Bob's) is great. I've stored my stuff there for a little more than 2 years. Never had a problem. Preston is the person I've dealt with most of the 2 years, and he is very helpful. My guess is upper management hires good, competent, people-friendly people, provides them with the training and resources they need to manage so well. They also go slow on raising rates, unlike some other storage businesses. Highly recommend. read more

Excellent customer service! I have had a storage unit with them for a while now and recently needed two additional climate controlled units on very short notice because I was moving. I was calling around a few other places and almost secured one with CubeSmart but Life Storage picked up the phone right away and even gave me a better deal. With CubeSmart, I was routed to a call center and had to wait for someone to call me back after giving them all of my information. Preston and Riley were always extremely helpful. Occasionally I needed 24 hour access or I needed to rent their van on short notice and they were very accommodating. Preston even labeled the keys and locks I purchased with them so I didn't get them confused. The A/C in my storage unit was nice and cool and it even had a cart available to make it easier to transport my boxes in and out of the car. It is always very well lit and clean and maintained to make it feel safe. Highly recommend them! Thank you! read more
