Life Church is awesome! They have revamped the children's church several times and it has improved drastically. The praise & worship is usually always calm, but then again, I have been to churches whose praise & worship was off the charts exciting, but then that was it... Life Church has drastically improved with every year of its existence. It is a very family-centric church that focuses on teaching biblical principles that improve your life, positive mentality, and relationship with God. Children get biblical teachings as well in an all new children's church area. I would tell anyone to give Life Church a chance for longer than one Sunday and you will not be disappointed. I've been here for 6 years as of this review and while it's had it's ups and downs (we are all human), it's been the best thing that happened for me and my family. read more

After years of being turned off by other churches and feeling like an outsider, I have found my church home. Never have I felt alone or looked down on. They are the most friendly and welcoming bunch of people I've ever encountered and you can tell the vibe here is felt by everyone who enters. Coffee shop is a BIG plus because it helps get my teenagers out there! If you're on the fence about trying something new don't think about it anymore. Just go. I came from a very weird and harsh past and was not always a believer back then, I came out of a traumatic experience at my former mega church, and for a while I questioned returning to a church until I found this one. I found a place where I can bring my significant other who questions the faith and where I can commune with people who are looking for God and friendships and answers and I am happy to know the pastors like new family. We were new to the area last fall, and visited Life Church. The greeters were friendly and helpful. There is a coffee shop in the foyer, and the prices are reasonable. I'm afraid I cannot recommend the coffee--what I make at home is better. (Sorry, Life Church) The music time, we quickly learned, is not a "worship" time. If you are looking for a church that will be singing the latest worship hits, don't look here. At a later service, it was stated that worship is much more than singing songs, and they take that very seriously there. We have come to the conclusion that the music time is meant to draw people in and perhaps give them some truth. If you think about it, some of contemporary worship songs can be pretty scary to people who haven't been to church before. Next time you hear a really passionate worship song"Take my Life, Take all of me..." try seeing it from the eyes of someone who has never set foot in church before. After the music time, was the teaching time. And this is where it really gets good. The teaching was clear, direct, and biblically based. This was not some watered-down gospel that leaves out the difficult questions. This was very relevant teaching which pulls no punches. We visited at the beginning of a series, and I found myself thinking about it during the week, wondering what the pastor would say next Sunday. It was that good. I have been a Christian for 30+ years, and it's been a very long time since I've been so excited about going to church on a Sunday morning to hear the teaching. In addition, they are reaching my teens. My teens LOVE this church. They have started attending the youth group, and have been growing there as well. They have fun, and they have been having some great conversations. They have been reading their bibles on their own. Awesome. I cannot speak for the children's program, but they introduced a new children's ministry leader, who seemed like a good choice for that job. Another point. There are a LOT of new believers there, and seekers. There are also quite a few people who have been walking with God for a long time. It's a good mix, but this is not a sanitized church where you will see no "sinners." Of course, all churches have sinners, most of us are simply all cleaned up so you can't see our sin. This church appears to be a place where you can just be who you are, admitting your weaknesses and getting help for the journey They have a Celebrate Recovery Ministry, which is awesome, from what I've heard. Whenever we move, we always give a church at least 3 Sundays unless there is something heretical in the teaching. (One church as an example, "Nobody here really believes the bible is literally true, do you?" Yeah, we didn't go back to that one...). This is one of those churches that needs more than one Sunday to get the full picture. read more

My family visited this church on Sunday at the 12:00 service. On first impression this is a neat experience. The entrance to the church is a coffee shop where we were greeted with a warm welcome & offered an escort to take our first grader & our 3 year old to an adjacent building for the service. The kids' areas are very engaging; filled with video games, air hockey tables & basketball courts. It was kind of an open gym type experience for my son. My 3 year old went to a room on one end of this gym where she had a typical daycare experience. We filled out a welcome information card & were treated to a cup of Joe before our entrance into the worship service. The praise portion of the service consisted of a band (complete with drummer, guitars, keyboardist etc). The members of the band were the only ones doing any praise, except, the songs they sang never even mentioned God's name or Jesus once. The words are shown on a screen to the left and right side, but nobody else participated in praise & worship. The lights were dimmed & the keyboardist began to pray while illuminated by a spotlight & accompanied by the guitarist. This went on for minutes of awkward silence within the congregation. The preacher gave a business report on the years income & how it was spent. I believe this open book kind of reporting was not a bad thing, just ill placed. While I like a church that I can give my tithe to & know that it's going to serve God's needs within and without the church, I also think that such information can be made available in other ways. Instead of hearing the preacher's sermon, we watched a video of Dave Ramsey. This wasn't altogether a disappointment but we have been to the Ramsey class before & enjoy his teachings. The biggest problem that I have with this church was what my children did while I was in the worship service. My 7 year old was playing happily when we returned for him & so I watched him for a moment while I asked the lady that taught him. I asked what the last hour was like for him. She told me that they play for a little while, then they gathered together & talked about the Global reach mission. She told me he had a sticker reminding him to bring money to donate to the mission next week. I asked if he had been given a relate-able bible story for this & she said, well, we have to put it into the words they understand. The answer was NO. He had not even prayed once, NOR DID HE EVER OPEN HIS BIBLE the entire time he was there. He was given his oversized pixie stick candy when we left & encouraged to remember the mission money. My daughter was thrilled with her experience. When we arrived she was watching Monster's Inc. This was the second video she watched that morning. She also was not taught anything that pertained to the bible. He first video was about loving family & then she watched Monsters' Inc. REALLY?!? I want to be clear here. I like candy as much as the next guy. I like Disney movies too, every single one of them. But we own most of them & I can buy candy at the store. I can go to Starbucks for my morning coffee fix. What I was after was a quench for a spiritual thirst that only a GOD experience can quell & I did NOT get that here; neither did my kids. I'd like to hear the preacher's message, but the experience my kids had was far too much like daycare for me to take them back. WE want a place to learn & grow in God's word as a family. When my wife and I started looking for a place to worship, we were looking for a socially non-judgemental church that preaches lessons that are relevant to today's world. I believe we have found that in LifeChurch. After growing up in a strong christian family, over the years I have become incredibly disillusioned with organized religions hypocrisy, scandals, and people using it as shield to discriminate/hate against others. I have found LifeChurch to be welcoming and incredibly unbiased in their message each Sunday. Pastor Monty does an incredible job of providing sermons that are biblically based, but speaks a practical message each week that all humans can relate to regardless of religious affiliation. I truly mean that, I lean to a more agnostic/spiritual belief system and find the sermons incredibly fulfilling. The worship service itself is a mix of modern christian music, as well as spiritual secular music (i.e. U2 or Coldplay), which although strange at first, is incredibly refreshing and engaging. I also absolutely adore the way LifeChurch goes about collecting tithes. Instead of passing out collection plates and begging you to donate, there are kiosks, both digital and manual deposit, where you can give via credit card, cash, or check, and they briefly explain each service how and where to donate. They even let you allocate your tithe to a specific fund or cause you would like to support should you choose. There's no pressure speeches about tithing that makes you feel guilty like at some places. For example, when attending a service at the cities biggest Mega Church, the pastor spent more time talking about why we need to give his church money, and less time teaching something useful. Seeing how some of these "preachers" around the world live, the cars they drive, and the jewelry they wear, it's no wonder why giving to their church is the most important message. At LifeChurch, while obviously important, it seems secondary and distant to the message of the day. The real bottom line is if you are looking for a non-traditional non-judgmental, modern christian experience, with multiple convenient services, solid music, a great weekly sermon, all in an hour or less, LifeChurch is for you. As a kid growing up that hated Sunday's and struggled to stay awake in church, and as someone that considers themselves to be more of a spiritual than religious person, I would have never imagined myself writing a church review here. I truly enjoy attending services at Life, and always take something away that enriches my life and my relationship with my wife. read more

Disillusioned with the church leaders. Find another church if you are looking for relief from addiction. read more

If I had to provide a BLUF( bottom line up front) I would say this church is a modern church with conservative values that supports your personal walk with Christ. I don't even know where to begin. My wife and were stationed in El Paso and immediately started searching for a church to call home. We carefully planned out an organized search and took advice from family and friends in the area with no success. Some churches had good worship but the message didn't satisfy, too much preaching about giving money and not enough about where the money goes...it was always something. One Sunday we felt like we ran out of places to to try so we just stopped by one we saw off the side of the highway (life church). As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by smiling people, offered a drink from their coffee shop, and quickly introduced us to the pastor and staff. As we walked in, we quickly realized that this wasn't our grandmother's church. There was exciting Christian music with lights, and a building full of energy. People are welcomed to worship however they feel comfortable. Some members stand and raise their hand, others stay seated. I really love how Life church accepts everyone and makes everyone feel welcomed. The pastor even said something along the lines of, "it's not change and you can come, it's come and you will change." The pastor teaches life lessons and always references scripture. We have recently got involved with the many things outside of sunday morning worship that the church offers. We were invited to play on the church softball team, volleyball team, we did a Friday night movie night with free child care, and we are looking forward to joining one of the weekly bible studies. We are so excited to have found a church home here! As a military family, one of the stressors of moving to a new home every few years, is finding a church that's right for your family. We certainly found it here at Life Church. The staff is warm and welcoming. We love that this church lives the teaching of Jesus, "Feed my sheep". Not only are they very involved in supporting foreign missions, but they are also involved in mission and service opportunities right here in the local area. read more

Our family visited Life church last Sunday. Our experience as parents was kept quiet until we asked our 16 year old son what he thought after the service (in our car). He said, "That was not church; I don't know what it was, but it wasn't church". We asked what he meant by "not church" and he said it wasn't Christ centered, it was more about feeling good. (***pretty eye-opening and humbling for a parent to hear this from their teenager). Our impressions, as adults, was overall Life church is a place to gather to get personally empowered. The music was just that. It was music that was hyped, rapped, and didn't "worship" Jesus. The words were "me" centered. The band was tight, but lacked any seasoning. The one scripture taught on was watered down. "Peace" was the message and the meat of it was empathy. There was no text that Jesus is the prince of peace or Jesus is our peace. Rather, peace comes from looking at others empathetically. Also, the Sunday we attended was the first day of Advent. There was no mention of Advent. read more
