I purchased this hat for my dad's 60th birthday on Saturday Oct. 11 and it was supposed to be special for him. Unfortunately the girl who did it, failed to do it correctly or inform us the risks. We didn't notice this until my dad tried it on and the flap was bothering him. He can feel the folded part. I called the store today right now and spoke to the manager and he said there was nothing they can do for me. He said I have to buy another hat and MAYBE they can attempt to do it right. I wanted to pick-up the new LA Dodgers Memorial Day cap so I stopped by this location in the Topanga Mall. They helped me find my size (which was 7 3/8s) and suggest I try it on to ensure it fit well. They also helped me to select an image for the side (Support our Heroes) and of course I added the years the Dodgers have won the world series to the rear of the cap. Came here to buy my dad's Christmas gifts and I left regretting that decision. 3 things I think anyone even considering to visit should note: 1. No one working there is controlling the volume of people within the store. When I stopped by, the people inside far exceeded the # permitted on their store window (which, if I remember correctly is 3 bc of how small the shop is). I decided to wait until the people before me finished their transactions before entering, but multiple people passed before me without a care. 2. From the 3 employees inside, only 2 wore masks. The woman at the cashier had her mask scrunched under her chin (which I don't understand??? You have the mask, why not just wear it properly???) and she scratched her face before bagging my hats. 3. The staff is rude. While ringing my purchase, the same woman who didn't know how to wear a mask kept repeating how she would never spend more than $40 on hats and asking who spends that much on hats. I mean... me, obviously? I go to Lids because they carry the only style of hats my dad wears. I don't mind spending a little extra as long as he's happy with his hats, plus he usually wears them until they're all gross and needs new ones. But my experience at this store? I think I'll stick to online shopping from now on (which I didn't do because shipping is laggy around this time). The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because they have a good variety of options and the other 2 people working there were actually nice. Came here January 31st hoping to get our hats embroidered, but found a sign saying they won't be doing it until next Thursday (Feb 6) Came back 1 week later (as their sign requested) only to be greeted by a man who said they don't do it anymore. LOL. What a joke. Ya'll ain't even paying for it. The employees are just lazy and don't wanna honor what's supposed to be a nationwide gift from LIDS itself. Employees acting like this is coming out of their paycheck. This is to honor the GOAT. If you didn't want to honor it in the first place, then you shouldn't have posted signage asking customers to come back. Today my husband and I attempted to return a hat that was purchased 9/3 at the Northridge location. The Woodland Hills location is less than 10min from our home. There was one associate working at the time, a bit after 10:40am. We provided the ORIGINAL receipt and hat. The associate then attempted to pull up the transaction, I say attempted because at some point he asked if we exchanged the hat, to which we replied no. He claimed he could not locate the hat, only another hat for a different size, which made no sense. I took the receipt, pointed out to him the hat ID number on the receipt matches the same ID on the hat tag. I did not understand how he was not pulling over different info. He claimed there was nothing he could do and suggested we go back to Northridge. I felt like he thought me and my husband were trying to scam him, which pissed us off. We drove to Northridge, it took the associate a minute to complete the return. After the return was completed , I questioned the ability to complete a return at ANY Lids location, to which I already know the answer is YES, she confirmed. I quickly explained the issue in WH, the associate indicated he probably entered the receipt number incorrectly. Basic POS 101, double check what you entered. Now, on 9/3 my husband and I were at the WH Lids location shortly after 10am, to make a purchase, the store was CLOSED. We walked around, assuming someone is late for work, went back at 10:30am, the store was STILL CLOSED. Keep in mind the mall opened up at 10am and the Lids website also said 10am. We had to drive to the Northridge location to make a purchase. Today was the second time the WH location inconvenienced my husband and myself, along with making us feel like we were doing something wrong. Customer service is horrible. Will NEVER go back to this location. Lids company needs to train their staff on how to use their POS system and how to interact with guest. read more

Best customer service I have ever received! I went in today to see if I could get my graduation sash embroidered less than 24 hours before my ceremony and everyone there was so quick to help me. I was amazed at how helpful Josh, Alec, and another guy whose name I can't remember were. They went above and beyond to make sure my graduation sash was perfect. The staff is a bit hit or miss. Sometimes I get very friendly staff who's ready to help, sometimes I get someone who won't even acknowledge me until I'm ready to make a purchase. It's that reason that usually leads me to other Lids locations that have most consistent customer service. But this location has good inventory. Rarely do I find myself not locating what I'm looking for here. Other locations are smaller thus have a smaller selection. I guess it's a trade off in the grand scheme of things. Better selection...possibly lower customer service. read more

I came to get a Christmas gift for my brother. I was helped by a young gentleman whom seem to have no energy. I came in here knowing what I wanted and needed. I told him what I was looking for and didn't seem to care. I guess?! As, I walked outside the door I notice a huge sign for 1/2 off the second hat. I only purchase one, but the gentleman could've mention this deal to me. I was a bit disappointed. I told him about it.. And I think he got a bit upset. The one young sales lady said that's an unusual size, but they carry one right size smaller and larger, but not that size. Usually good service at this location, but the white dude with ear plugs, who just helped me purchase a gift was a real "chip on his shoulder" dickface. I had two kids in a stroller with me in their tight spaced store and couldn't get to all the merchandise without leaving them unattended. After asking for a hat in a larger size for a friend, he found one for me, I asked if they had any others by chance? He then gave me a look like I asked him to join the military and fight in a Third World War zone. Instead of helping, he said "You're just gonna have to look for yourself here." Which is fine, if he hadn't gone back to waiting on no customers in the store and staring blankly into space. Lousy customer service! They do not stand behind their productsI Use a credit card when purchasing! I purchased a cap at the Lids store in Canoga Park. After a couple of times of light wear, it showed a very noticeable band of sweat. I called the store; an employee told me that taking it to the cleaners could probably solve the problem. It did not. I took the cap back to the store , explained the situation and was told they had no ability to take this defective merchandise back, I was told to call customer service. The next day I called customer service, explained the situation, and was told their policy is not to accept returns if the hat is worn or cleaned. I carefully explained to the representative that to find out it was defective I had to wear it and was told by their employee to take it to the cleaners. She said all she could do was apologize and gave me a corporate phone number. I called this number multiple times on a work day, was given automatic instructions to dial 3 for customer care. Each time the response was , there is no one available at this number. I also was given automatic instructions to dial 2 for the operator,. the response was , this number is not recognized. I researched the payment method and called my credit card company. I explained the situation, while I was the line the card representative procured a credit to my card! read more
